Yes—an eligible always-on YouTube live stream can earn Premium revenue when YouTube Premium members watch it. The creator must accept YouTube’s Watch Page Monetization Module. YouTube says it distributes Premium membership revenue according to how much members watch a creator’s content, but it does not publish a fixed per-view rate, a Premium revenue-share percentage, or a special formula for continuous streams.
How Premium revenue is attributed to a live stream
A Premium subscriber pays YouTube for a membership. When that subscriber watches eligible creator content, YouTube says the creator receives a portion of the membership fee. Its stated basis for distributing that revenue is how much Premium members watch the creator’s content—not a published price for each view or hour.
YouTube defines Watch Pages as pages for long-form videos and live streams. For a live-stream video to earn Watch Page ad and Premium revenue, the creator needs to accept the Watch Page Monetization Module. YouTube’s Premium guidance also says creators earning Premium revenue from long-form videos need the module and Watch Page ads turned on. YouTube documents watch time from downloaded videos as being recorded and incorporated when a Premium member next signs in online. It also says background playback, including playback with the screen off, counts toward watch time. Those statements describe watch time; they do not provide a separate payment rate or formula for those viewing modes.

Does a 24/7 stream have a special Premium multiplier?
No special multiplier or bonus for always-on streams is stated in the YouTube help pages cited here. They establish that live-stream videos can qualify for Watch Page Premium revenue and describe allocation generally by member watch time. They do not specify a minimum Premium-member viewing threshold, how simultaneous or repeated playback is handled, or a separate calculation for a stream that runs continuously.
That means an always-on stream may accumulate eligible member viewing, but its runtime alone does not determine what it earns. Do not estimate Premium revenue by multiplying the stream’s hours or viewer-hours by an assumed rate.

How Premium differs from ads and fan funding
A live stream can have several distinct revenue sources. Premium subscription revenue is not the same as ads shown in the player or purchases made by viewers.

YouTube’s live-stream guidance explains ad controls and notes that ad slots are not guaranteed to serve: Monetize your live stream. A slot that does not serve an ad does not, by itself, show that Premium revenue is absent; Premium viewing is a separate source.

Why the published revenue-share percentages are not Premium rates
YouTube lists a 55% share of net Watch Page advertising revenue and a 70% share of net revenue from channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Super Thanks in its earnings overview. These figures apply to the named ad and fan-funding revenue sources; YouTube does not state them as Premium subscription revenue shares. Do not use either percentage to calculate an always-on stream’s Premium earnings. See YouTube’s partner earnings overview.
How to check your channel’s actual results
- Confirm eligibility and monetization settings. In YouTube Studio, check that the Watch Page Monetization Module is accepted for the channel and review the stream’s monetization settings.
- Review live and replay ad earnings separately. In YouTube Analytics, use the Live filter to view ad revenue associated with live streams and replays, as described in YouTube’s live monetization guidance.
- Check Premium reporting if it is available to you. YouTube says downloadable Premium reports can show watch time and earnings by video for creators with access. Use your channel’s report as the authority for its actual results; YouTube’s public pages do not provide a universal per-view calculation.
