You can stream recorded Sunday school lessons on YouTube around the clock by sending them through an encoder connected to a YouTube stream URL and stream key. The key practical choice is whether to run that encoder on a computer you can monitor or use a cloud service. Either way, plan for interruptions, confirm that you have online rights to every lesson and included asset, and do not rely on a single 24-hour broadcast for a complete YouTube archive.
What you need for a continuous Sunday school stream

- An encoder: software on a computer, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service that sends the video feed to YouTube. YouTube’s verified encoder list
- Recorded lesson videos and any accompanying music, images, or other materials that the ministry is permitted to livestream.
- A plan to monitor the feed and respond to a failed encoder, network outage, or playback problem.
For a modest ministry, first assess whether an existing computer and software encoder can do the job. A dedicated hardware encoder is optional, not a YouTube requirement. Set up the YouTube stream and encoder

- Copy the stream URL and key into the encoder. Select YouTube in the encoder if it offers that option; otherwise, enter YouTube’s stream URL and key in the encoder’s corresponding fields. - Load the recorded lessons. Use the playback or playlist workflow supported by your chosen encoder. Check the complete sequence, audible sound, and transitions or gaps. The exact playlist controls depend on the encoder; do not assume every encoder handles looping or unattended restarts the same way.

- Verify what viewers receive. Check the public watch page and channel page, test mobile playback, and listen for audio issues. If you have a backup encoder, test that it can take over before depending on it.
Plan for interruptions and network capacity
Keep an operator and a recovery plan
A 24/7 schedule still needs a response plan. The encoder must continue sending a valid feed, and someone should know how to respond to a failed feed, network outage, or playback issue. YouTube’s guidance describes encoder setup and testing but does not establish that any particular looping configuration will run without interruption. Test your actual lesson sequence, audio, transitions, and restart behavior on the intended equipment before leaving it unattended.
Allow bandwidth headroom
YouTube recommends 20% more available bandwidth than the total stream bitrate. Its streaming tips also advise checking the Live Control Room preview, verifying playback from the channel and watch pages and on mobile, continuously monitoring audio and video, and testing backup-encoder failover. Understand the 12-hour archive limit
YouTube says it can automatically archive a livestream that is less than 12 hours long. A stream that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. The threshold is an archive warning, not a promise that every shorter stream will produce a complete replay. YouTube’s archive guidance
For a round-the-clock schedule, do not promise viewers a complete replay of one continuous day-long broadcast. If YouTube archives matter, arrange sessions shorter than 12 hours, verify how your encoder stops and restarts them, and keep local copies of the lesson recordings. YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup. The platform guidance establishes the archive threshold, not a universal restart procedure.

Confirm rights and consider monetization separately
Check every part of the lesson recording
Confirm that the ministry has the necessary rights to livestream each lesson and all included music, images, and other material. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; it may replace a stream with a placeholder image, interrupt it, or terminate it if a match remains. Do not assume continuous playback qualifies for monetization
Monetization is a separate channel- and content-policy question. YouTube says monetized content should be original and authentic; repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible. Reused material needs meaningful original value, and permission alone does not settle the reused-content monetization question. Compare the options against the lesson sequence you need to play, continuity and restart behavior, failover, monitoring, YouTube compatibility, production complexity, and total cost. These options are not a like-for-like price or feature comparison.
