Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThere is no verified basis for naming one low-cost VPS the best overall for 24/7 YouTube streaming. The right choice depends first on what you are streaming: a pre-encoded FFmpeg loop can run on much less hardware than an OBS setup with browser sources or a live video transcode. Compare total monthly cost, outbound-transfer terms, workload fit, and the maintenance you are prepared to handle—not just the advertised VPS price.
Start with the streaming workload
A VPS that can relay an already encoded file to YouTube has a different job from a server that composes scenes or encodes video in real time. Decide which workflow you need before choosing a plan.
Pre-encoded FFmpeg loop
For a static loop of video files encoded on another machine, Space-Node’s 2026 guide gives a baseline of 2 vCPU and 2–4 GB RAM. That is provider guidance, not an independent benchmark or guaranteed minimum. A simple relay of an existing stream also generally uses less CPU than live encoding.
OBS scenes and browser sources
Space-Node recommends 4 vCPU and 8 GB RAM for OBS at 720p, and 6 vCPU and 12 GB RAM for OBS at 1080p with browser sources. These figures are also provider recommendations; actual use depends on the scene, sources, software and encoding settings.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Live transcoding
Transcoding adds substantial CPU load compared with forwarding an already encoded feed. X-ZoneServers estimates roughly 4–6 vCPU cores for one 1080p30 x264 transcode at its stated veryfast preset. Treat that as vendor guidance rather than a universal requirement: codec, preset, source material and concurrent processes all affect demand.
Compare the full cost, not the headline price
A continuously running stream sends data to YouTube around the clock. X-ZoneServers says a continuous 6 Mbps stream uses about 2 TB of transfer per month. This is provider-published planning arithmetic, not an independent measurement; check the bitrate you will actually use and the host’s current transfer terms. Sending one feed to YouTube is not the same as delivering video directly to every viewer. Sending separate feeds to additional destinations can increase outbound traffic.

When calculating your real monthly cost, check the current checkout and terms for:
- Recurring price after any introductory term, plus tax and any IP or setup charges.
- Included outbound transfer, overage rates and whether the stated port speed is shared or otherwise qualified.
- Whether unattended 24/7 streaming is permitted under the plan’s current usage policy.
- Server region and route to YouTube’s ingest endpoint; no comparative route or latency testing establishes a best location.
- Resource limits and whether the plan can sustain your chosen encoder workflow.
An “unmetered” label or a high port-speed figure is not a guarantee of streaming performance. Verify what the provider means by those terms before committing.

A low-cost VPS example—and its limits
X-ZoneServers’ page advertises a Streaming VPS starting at €9.99/month, with 2 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 20 GB SSD, a 10 Gbps port and unmetered traffic. The provider says its plans allow unattended 24/7 streams and describes looping a playlist with FFmpeg under systemd. These are provider claims, not an independent comparison. The advertised 1-vCPU plan is below Space-Node’s suggested baseline for a static FFmpeg loop, so check actual workload fit rather than assuming the plan suits every stream.
Before buying, confirm the current order-page price, region availability, taxes, transfer conditions and resource behavior. A low starting price is not enough to establish value if the plan lacks the resources or transfer allowance your setup needs.

What running the stream yourself involves
A self-managed VPS gives you control, but you are responsible for keeping the stream process and server healthy. A reliable setup needs more than an FFmpeg command that works once:
- Enable YouTube live access before the planned launch, and use a persistent stream key carefully. Do not expose the key in a public script, log, screenshot or repository.
- Pre-encode the files where possible if your workflow is a simple loop; this avoids adding unnecessary live-encoding work to a small VPS.
- Run the process under a supervisor such as systemd so it can restart after a process failure or reboot. Confirm the service starts automatically after reboot.
- Monitor process status, logs, server resource use and YouTube stream health. A restart mechanism does not tell you whether the stream is actually reaching YouTube correctly.
- Test stream health for at least one hour before relying on the setup, keep bitrate stable, and use audio and video you have rights to stream.
- Plan for operating-system updates, disk space, network interruptions and key rotation or replacement if the key is compromised.
Space-Node’s guide recommends a pre-launch test of at least one hour, stable bitrate, protected stream keys and rights-safe media. Its advice is useful operational guidance; it is not a guarantee that a particular VPS will remain online or that YouTube will accept every stream.

How the available options differ
The evidence supports examples and decision criteria, not a defensible overall ranking of VPS hosts. StreamNeo is a managed cloud-pl a yout option rather than a VPS; it is #1 here for readers prioritizing ease of operation because it runs an always-on YouTube stream from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
| Option | Published example | What it suits | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo managed cloud service | Monthly: $9.99 per month | Uploaded videos or playlists looped to YouTube without keeping a home computer running. | Whether its uploaded-video workflow fits your needs; it is not a VPS or camera-based live production service. |
| X-ZoneServers Streaming VPS | Provider advertises a starting €9.99/month plan with 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB SSD, a 10 Gbps port and unmetered traffic. | Operators willing to administer a VPS and run their own FFmpeg or related workflow. | Current price, region, tax, actual transfer conditions, permitted use and fit for your chosen workload. |
| Upstream managed cloud service | Its page lists a free one-stream plan with 24 hours/month and a paid one-stream plan at $30/month. | Creators who prefer uploading videos into a playlist and having a cloud service loop them. | Current service limits, renewal price and whether its workflow fits your channel. |
StreamNeo’s monthly price is for its managed service, not a directly comparable VPS rental: the VPS operator supplies and maintains the server environment, while managed cloud playout removes much of that server administration. Compare the full VPS cost and your maintenance effort with the current limits and price of a managed service.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It supports the quality of your upload up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and the first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month.
See StreamNeo or start the free first day.
Choosing responsibly
For a simple, pre-encoded loop, begin by checking whether a small VPS can handle the process and whether its outbound-transfer terms cover your bitrate. For OBS compositions or real-time transcoding, size for the actual workload rather than the cheapest plan. If you do not want to administer Linux, FFmpeg, supervisors, logs and monitoring, compare a managed cloud service on its own terms. No verified cross-provider pricing and performance comparison here establishes a single best VPS for every geography and workflow.
