Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteIf you are watching a YouTube playlist, turn off its Loop control; if OBS is sending local episode files to YouTube Live, turn off looping in the OBS source. The right setting depends on what is playing the episodes—and whether one episode or the whole list repeats.
First, identify what is repeating
Check both the playback app and the scope of the repeat:
- One episode starts over: Look for a current-video Loop setting.
- The whole show starts again after the last episode: Look for a playlist repeat setting.
- You are streaming local files through OBS: Check the media source’s loop setting. YouTube’s player controls do not change how OBS plays files before they reach the live stream.
YouTube documents separate controls for looping a video and looping a playlist. Its steps vary by device, so check the control for the player you are using. YouTube’s computer instructions and Android instructions describe the relevant controls.
Turn off repeat in the YouTube player
Computer
- Open a video in the playlist and expand the playlist box.
- Turn off the playlist’s Loop control.
- If just the current episode repeats, open the video player’s context menu and check its separate single-video Loop option.
Turning off one control may not change the other: verify both if you want the episode to play once and the list not to restart.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Android
- Start the playlist and find Loop in the playlist control box beneath the video.
- Check what the control indicates. A second tap that displays “1” selects repeat for the current video; make sure that single-video repeat is not selected if one episode keeps recurring.
TV or game console
During playlist playback, open the player’s Repeat control or Settings menu. Confirm the selection is neither “Repeat • Currently playing” nor “Repeat • Playlist.”
iPhone or iPad
Use the available player and playlist controls, then check whether repeat applies to the current episode or the playlist. The linked official guidance does not provide an iOS tap sequence here, so the precise interface may vary; do not assume a control labeled Loop affects both scopes.

Check the OBS source when streaming local episodes
If OBS is playing files into your YouTube live stream, change the setting on the source that contains those files. OBS has two relevant source types with separate loop controls. The documented defaults differ: VLC Video Source’s playlist loop is on, while a single-file Media Source’s loop is off. OBS’s Media Sources guide (dated January 11, 2022) explains these options.
VLC Video Source: a playlist of files
- In OBS, open the properties for the VLC Video Source that holds your episode playlist.
- Turn off Loop Playlist. OBS documents this option as controlling whether the source restarts after it runs out of files; it is on by default.
- Apply the change and let the playlist reach its end to confirm that it stops instead of starting over.
A VLC Video Source requires VLC to be installed on the computer running OBS. Its Visibility Behaviour setting controls whether the source continues, pauses, or stops when it is not visible in the scene; that is separate from whether the playlist loops.

Media Source: one file
- Open the properties for the Media Source playing the episode.

- If only one episode repeats, confirm that you changed the source actually playing it.
If a YouTube embed controls the playlist
For a YouTube player controlled through the IFrame Player API, set setLoop(false) when initializing or reusing the player. The API says playlists do not loop by default and that this setting makes playback end after the final playlist video. The setting persists when a different playlist is loaded into the same player, so explicitly set it to false if shared or reused code may have enabled looping earlier. See the YouTube IFrame Player API Reference, which states: “The default behavior is that playlists do not loop.”
Keep podcast order separate from repeat settings
Changing episode order does not disable repeat. YouTube describes a podcast as a playlist of full-length episode videos, organized in the order viewers should consume them. In YouTube Studio, edit the podcast and choose Default Video Order to set that sequence:
