Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallOBS is the clearest free starting point for sending a recorded lesson broadcast to YouTube: YouTube lists Open Broadcaster Software as open-source recording and live-streaming software available at no charge. But that does not establish that OBS will loop a playlist unattended or keep it running reliably 24/7. If uninterrupted cloud playback matters more than using free software, StreamNeo is a paid YouTube option with a first day free.
What “free 24/7 software” can—and cannot—mean
YouTube’s encoder workflow lets streaming software send a live feed to YouTube using a server URL and stream key from Live Control Room. OBS is an officially listed, no-charge option for that encoder role. The available official information does not confirm a turnkey OBS setup for continuously looping recorded lessons, automatic recovery after interruptions, or guaranteed uptime.
So treat OBS as the best-supported free encoder to investigate, not as a verified unattended 24/7 lesson player. Before depending on any application, check whether its current version can replay your lesson playlist continuously and what happens after a network drop, computer restart, or application crash.
Free software and continuous-stream alternatives
| Option | What is established | What to check for recorded lessons |
|---|---|---|
| OBS | YouTube lists it as open-source recording and live-streaming software available at no charge. | Whether your setup can loop lessons unattended, recover after interruptions, and retain local recordings. Those capabilities are not established here. |
| PRISM Live Studio | YouTube lists it as no-charge Windows streaming software. | The listing does not establish prerecorded lesson looping or 24/7 operation. |
| Streamlabs | YouTube lists it as no-charge streaming software. | The listing does not establish unattended prerecorded looping. |
| Gamecaster and XSplit Broadcaster | YouTube lists a no-charge version of each. | The official descriptions focus on gameplay or general broadcasting, not purpose-built recorded-lesson channels. |
| StreamNeo | Cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos; it is not free software. | It runs the stream from the cloud rather than a home computer. One slot is always on, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free. |
| Gyre and Upstream | YouTube identifies them as cloud services for continuous streaming. | The cited descriptions do not establish their prices, so check current terms before choosing one. |
For any free app, evaluate the exact use case rather than the general label “live streaming”: can it replay a local lesson playlist unattended, reconnect after a network or software interruption, and retain a local copy? YouTube’s software listings establish availability and broad purpose, not comparative reliability or a confirmed looping workflow.

How to try a free encoder with YouTube
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do this before your planned broadcast.
- Prepare the recorded lessons. Decide which recordings belong in the broadcast and test the exact playlist and repeat behavior in your chosen software. Do not assume an app’s ability to stream means it can loop a playlist unattended.
- Create or select a stream in YouTube Live Control Room. Get the YouTube server URL and stream key for the broadcast.
- Enter the connection details in the encoder. Add the server URL and stream key in the software’s streaming settings. Treat the key as sensitive: it authorizes the encoder connection.
- Run a short private or unlisted test. Check playback, audio, lesson order, and whether the playlist behaves as intended before relying on a long broadcast. YouTube recommends testing a live stream to get comfortable with the process.
- Keep a local recording or archive. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not rely on YouTube to preserve a complete archive of an uninterrupted all-day stream.
- Monitor the setup if it is running from your computer. A local encoder depends on the computer and its connection staying available. The sources reviewed do not establish unattended recovery for a particular free app, so test interruption and restart behavior rather than assuming it.
Copyright, lesson rights, and YouTube rules
Live content must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and YouTube can restrict live-streaming access. Before rebroadcasting, confirm you have the rights to the lesson recordings and to any music, video clips, slides, or other embedded material they contain. A recording being suitable for a class or private viewing does not by itself establish permission to broadcast it publicly.
