Yes. YouTube limits how many live streams a channel can create in a 24-hour period, but its public Help pages do not state a universal daily number. If you reach the limit, YouTube says to try again in 24 hours. This is separate from the limits on how many streams can be active at once.
How YouTube’s live-stream limits work
There are two different limits to keep in mind: a daily limit on creating streams and a concurrent limit on streams running simultaneously. YouTube’s Help pages do not give a fixed number for the daily creation limit, so the concurrent caps should not be treated as a daily quota.
| Limit | What YouTube says | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Stream creation | YouTube limits the number a channel can create in a 24-hour period; the numeric maximum is not stated on the Help page. | If you see the daily-limit error, wait 24 hours before trying again. |
| Concurrent streams per channel | Up to 10 active streams per channel. | This applies to streams running at the same time, not the total created that day. |
| Concurrent streams per stream key | Up to 3 active streams per stream key. | This cap applies alongside the channel cap. |

What to do if YouTube says you reached the daily limit
- Read the exact error. A daily-limit message concerns creating more streams during the 24-hour period; it does not mean YouTube has published a fixed allowance for every channel.
- Wait 24 hours, then try again. That is YouTube Help’s stated guidance for reaching the daily limit.
- Check whether the issue is actually concurrent streams. If you are trying to run streams simultaneously, count active streams on the channel and on the stream key. The documented caps are 10 per channel and 3 per key.
- Check channel eligibility and restrictions. Verification is required for live streaming, and the channel must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days.

Other reasons you may be unable to go live
Reaching a limit is not the only possible cause. YouTube’s eligibility requirements and enforcement actions are separate from the daily creation limit.
- Channel not verified: verify the channel before attempting to stream.
- Recent live-streaming restriction: YouTube lists no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days as an eligibility condition.
- Copyright or enforcement action: copyright issues or other enforcement can restrict live streaming. If your channel is restricted, do not try to get around the restriction by streaming through another channel; YouTube prohibits circumventing restrictions in that way.

Does scheduling or keeping a stream running change the limit?
The documented daily limit is about how many live streams a channel can create within 24 hours. The available YouTube Help guidance does not say that scheduling or leaving one stream running increases that allowance. If your aim is to keep a pre-recorded video live continuously, treat that as a separate setup question: a cloud service such as StreamNeo can loop uploaded videos to YouTube, but it does not bypass YouTube’s limits or restrictions.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a YouTube channel that needs an uploaded video to loop continuously, StreamNeo works by uploading the video, adding your YouTube stream key, and going live. The stream runs from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It streams the uploaded file as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; it can recover automatically if YouTube drops the stream. This does not override YouTube’s daily creation limit or a channel restriction. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start with StreamNeo’s free day.
