Will StreamYard stop a stream when Free-plan hours run out?
No. StreamYard says that reaching the Free plan’s monthly streaming-hour allowance while you are already live does not interrupt the broadcast. Once the allowance is spent, you cannot start another broadcast until the monthly reset. To see the remaining allowance, open Billing > Streaming and recording hours in StreamYard. What happens to StreamYard’s own recording?
StreamYard’s recording limits are separate from its stated YouTube streaming limit. Its storage documentation lists a maximum recording length of 10 hours per stream on Core and Advanced and 24 hours on Business. StreamYard says streaming can continue after storage hours are exceeded, but StreamYard recording will be disabled. Confirm current plan and storage terms in StreamYard’s storage documentation before planning an unusually long recording.

Will YouTube save the replay of a stream longer than 12 hours?
Do not count on it. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Its wording is conditional: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” The 12-hour guidance concerns the archive, not a stated automatic cutoff for the live session. Make a backup if the recording matters
For a broadcast expected to exceed 12 hours, arrange a local recording and verify that it is actually being saved. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. Do not assume the YouTube replay will preserve the complete event.

- Check the current StreamYard plan allowance and remaining monthly hours in Billing > Streaming and recording hours.
- Check the plan’s recording-length and storage terms separately from its streaming allowance.
- If the stream may exceed 12 hours, make and verify a local recording backup.
