Its help documentation says the dedicated 24/7 feature is YouTube-only, requires Enterprise, and allows a scheduled run of up to 30 days. The pricing page separately advertises a $30-per-month 24-hour YouTube add-on, so the two descriptions need to be reconciled at checkout. This is a source-based assessment, not a hands-on test; no independent uptime benchmark is established.
What OneStream Live does for an always-on channel
OneStream Live is a cloud streaming service that can schedule prerecorded video to social platforms and custom RTMP destinations. For an always-on YouTube channel, its dedicated 24/7 feature automates a loop from uploaded or stored video rather than requiring a local computer to encode the prerecorded stream continuously. OneStream describes support for more than 45 destinations, but that general destination count does not apply to the dedicated 24/7 feature: its instructions specify YouTube only.
OneStream’s standard prerecorded-stream scheduling is a separate mode. Its Help Center says those streams can be scheduled up to 60 days in advance; this is a scheduling horizon, not the maximum duration of a continuous 24/7 run. - Open the 24/7 stream workflow. Sign in to OneStream Live and choose the option for creating a 24-hour/24/7 stream, rather than the ordinary prerecorded scheduling flow.
- Add your video. Select a video from your device, OneStream storage, or a supported cloud storage source. Prepare content you have permission to livestream and archive.
- Select the YouTube destination. Connect or select the YouTube channel where the broadcast should appear. The documented dedicated 24/7 loop is YouTube-only.
- Enter stream details. Add the title and other requested stream information, then schedule the stream.
- Set the number of days. The Help Center instructions state that a 24/7 scheduled stream can run for at most 30 days. Plan to renew or schedule a later run if you need continuity beyond that period, and check the current interface for changes.
- Confirm eligibility and start. Before committing, verify that your selected plan or add-on enables this feature and check the resulting YouTube event in the channel’s live dashboard.
OneStream’s instructions describe this as cloud scheduling; they do not require an always-on local encoder for a prerecorded loop. Its encoder path is a distinct method for sending a live input, rather than the documented way to play stored video continuously. YouTube’s encoder guide covers that separate live-input workflow.
Where OneStream fits—and where it does not
Good fit
- You already have rights-cleared prerecorded video and want to schedule a cloud-run loop to a YouTube channel.
- You prefer not to keep a home computer or hardware encoder running for this prerecorded workflow.
- A scheduled run of up to 30 days works with your publishing and renewal routine.
Check first
- Other destinations: The documented continuous 24/7 feature is for YouTube only. Do not infer that OneStream’s broader multistreaming or destination support includes the same continuous loop everywhere.
- Plan and total cost: The Help Center says Enterprise is required, while the pricing page separately advertises a $30/month 24-hour YouTube add-on. The available descriptions do not establish how the add-on relates to Enterprise, which base plan qualifies, or how many concurrent streams it covers. - Reliability: Cloud scheduling removes the need for your own always-on encoder, but the cited materials establish no independent uptime measurement or guarantee. Do not treat cloud hosting as proof that a stream cannot be interrupted.
- Long-term scheduling: The 30-day limit is for the 24/7 run; the separate 60-day figure is how far ahead standard prerecorded streams may be scheduled. They solve different problems.
Copyright, monetization, and the archive problem
Rights and reused content
You remain responsible for the rights needed to livestream and archive every video element, including music. YouTube’s livestream terms set out creator obligations. A loop does not bypass YouTube’s monetization review: its channel monetization policies address originality, authenticity, and reused content, while live-stream monetization guidance makes clear that ad delivery depends on eligibility and monetization settings. A streaming service cannot guarantee watch hours, monetization approval, or that ads will serve.

Do not rely on YouTube to archive a 24/7 broadcast
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams over 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 run is therefore not a dependable way to create a complete YouTube replay. If preserving the full broadcast matters, arrange a separate recording and archive strategy before going live.
