To show Super Chat alerts during a 24/7 YouTube stream, first make sure your channel and stream are eligible for Supers, then connect an alert provider such as Streamlabs and add its alert widget to your OBS scene as a Browser Source. Test the overlay before going live. The widget can display events it receives; it does not by itself keep the encoder, YouTube connection, or alert authorization running reliably around the clock.
1. Confirm that Super Chat is available for your channel and stream
Super Chat and Super Stickers require fan-funding eligibility, availability in your location, and acceptance of the applicable terms. They are unavailable on age-restricted, unlisted, private, and made-for-kids videos, and when live chat or comments are turned off. Check your channel’s current status in the Earn tab in YouTube Studio and confirm the stream will have live chat enabled. YouTube’s Super Chat eligibility and policies
YouTube’s expanded Partner Program access page lists thresholds of 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the previous 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified public watch hours in the previous 365 days or 3 million qualified Shorts views in the previous 90 days. These are entry thresholds for expanded YPP access, not a guarantee that every feature is available: Super Chat has additional conditions and geographic availability restrictions. Verify the current requirements and your channel’s feature status in YouTube’s monetization guidance.
2. Enable Super Chat and link an alert provider
Turn on Super Chat in YouTube Studio before configuring the alert provider. YouTube’s integration guidance uses Streamlabs as an example: sign in with Google, link the eligible YouTube channel, then configure the provider’s widgets and alerts. The exact authorization prompts and labels can change, so use the current provider and YouTube screens rather than assuming an old setup is still linked. Streamlabs documents Super Chats as an event in its YouTube Alert Box. In its current setup guide, open the Alert Box settings, configure the Super Chat alert, and use the widget URL supplied for the alert box. Streamlabs alert setup
3. Add the alert to OBS as a Browser Source
OBS does not provide Super Chat alerts directly. The alert provider creates the overlay; OBS displays it in the scene. For a Browser Source setup without a provider plugin:

- In OBS, select the scene where Super Chat alerts should appear.
- In the Sources panel, choose + and add a Browser source. Give it a recognizable name, such as “Super Chat Alert Box.”
- Paste the Alert Box widget URL from your provider into the Browser Source URL field.
- Set the source width and height to suit the overlay and your canvas, then position and resize it in the preview so it does not cover important documentary footage, subtitles, or other on-screen information.
- Repeat or copy the source into each scene where alerts should be visible. A source present in only one scene will not appear in other scenes.
OBS’s documented method is to embed an alert provider’s overlay using a Browser Source; Streamlabs also gives this method for OBS users who are not using its plugin. OBS alerts FAQ
4. Test the overlay—and know what the test proves
Use the provider’s test function to trigger a sample alert. Check that it appears in the intended OBS scene, is legible at the actual stream layout size, and does not obscure captions or essential visuals. If you changed the widget configuration or URL, test again.

A provider test confirms that the widget renders in the scene; it does not prove that a real YouTube Super Chat has been received, that account authorization will remain valid, or that the 24/7 stream will stay connected. 5. Keep the alert path usable during a 24/7 broadcast
Alerts depend on several separate parts working together: the channel’s Super Chat eligibility and setting, provider authorization, live chat, the provider’s event handling, the Browser Source, OBS, the encoder’s connection, and the stream itself. A failure in one part may prevent an alert even if the rest of the broadcast appears normal.

- Check that the provider remains linked to the correct YouTube channel and that the Alert Box source is present in every scene that needs it.
- Preview the live output and monitor stream audio and video, rather than relying only on the OBS canvas.
- Keep an eye on the encoder and network connection throughout long runs. YouTube’s guidance recommends continuous audio and video monitoring and checking local archive file growth where recording is part of the workflow.
- Decide whether you need a local recording or shorter broadcast segments. YouTube says a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all; an automatic archive for a 24/7 broadcast is therefore not assured. YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance
YouTube’s tools directory describes how external applications can use the Live Chat API to display live comments and Super Chats. YouTube also says listed third-party products are not made or endorsed by Google, so assess a provider’s current features, availability, and terms independently. 6. Troubleshoot missing or invisible alerts
