How to Loop a Pre-Recorded Study-With-Me Video on YouTube Live

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To loop a pre-recorded study-with-me video on YouTube Live, send it through a live encoder connected to a YouTube Studio stream, then enable repeat in the encoder. YouTube provides the stream destination and connection settings; the repeat control belongs to whichever encoder you use. Test the loop, audio, and stream health before going public.

Before you start: check channel eligibility

YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its current general eligibility guidance also says creators must be at least 16. First-time live streaming activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned study session. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions.

How to loop the video with a live encoder

  1. Create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Studio, start a live stream setup, and choose the encoder workflow. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream into your encoder. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to the intended stream.
  2. Load your recording as the encoder’s media source. Select the study-with-me video file in your streaming software or hardware encoder. Turn on that encoder’s loop or repeat option if you want playback to continue from the beginning after it ends. The exact setting and menu path vary by encoder and version; it is not a YouTube Studio loop control.
  3. Check the loop point. Preview the ending and beginning together. Look for a sudden volume change, silence, a black frame, or a noticeable jump in the study scene. Adjust the file or encoder transition if needed.
  4. Preview and test privately before the public broadcast. Use the Live Control Room preview and test with sound and movement similar to the planned stream. Confirm that the picture, audio, and loop behave as expected before starting the event.
  5. Start the encoder and monitor the broadcast. Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators and messages while live, and check both video and audio. When the event has stopped on YouTube, stop the encoder as well. YouTube’s guidance recommends testing, previewing, and monitoring rather than assuming a successful connection means the stream remains healthy: YouTube live-streaming tips.

Choose settings your connection can sustain

YouTube’s current encoder recommendations include RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video, and frame rates up to 60 fps. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says it should not exceed four seconds. Bitrate guidance varies by resolution, frame rate, and codec. For 1080p at 30 fps, YouTube lists these H.264 and AV1/H.265 figures:

Codec Minimum bitrate Recommended bitrate
H.264 5 Mbps 14 Mbps
AV1 or H.265/HEVC 4 Mbps 10 Mbps

These are YouTube recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular computer or internet connection can maintain the feed. Use a stable upload connection with headroom and test the exact encoder output. For a mostly static study scene, a sustainable resolution and frame rate are usually a better operational choice than selecting the highest available values. More detail can demand more encoding and upload capacity.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

There is also a trade-off between latency and playback stability: YouTube notes that lower latency may increase buffering. DVR lets viewers pause and rewind during a live stream, which may suit a study session where people join late or want to revisit a moment. Review the current options in YouTube’s encoder and streaming guidance.

Plan the length, archive, and rights

Archive duration

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its cited encoder setup guidance does not promise an archive for streams longer than that. If you need a recording, keep a local copy where possible and plan around the documented limit: YouTube encoder setup.

Video and audio permissions

Make sure you have the necessary rights to every visual and audio element in the recording, including background music, ambient tracks, and any material added to a looping scene. The official guidance cited here does not establish that every pre-recorded loop complies with YouTube’s rules. A test confirms technical behavior; it does not establish that you have permission or that a particular use complies with platform policies.

Troubleshooting a study-with-me loop

  • The stream will not connect: Confirm live streaming is enabled for the channel, then check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and key for the intended Studio stream. If live streaming is being enabled for the first time, activation may take up to 24 hours.
  • The feed connects but stops at the end of the video: The encoder’s repeat option may be off, or the selected media source may not support looping as configured. Check the encoder’s documentation for its current version; YouTube does not provide a universal file-loop switch.
  • The stream buffers or loses quality: Check YouTube’s stream-health messages and whether the upload connection can sustain the configured bitrate. Test a lower resolution, frame rate, or bitrate that remains within YouTube’s encoder guidance.
  • Audio is silent, uneven, or jarring at the restart: Preview the actual encoder output, not just the source file. Check the selected audio source and inspect the recording’s end-to-start transition for silence or a volume jump.
  • The archive is missing after a long broadcast: YouTube documents automatic archiving for streams under 12 hours, but the cited guidance does not promise it for longer streams. Keep a separate recording when an archive is important.
