To rotate prerecorded videos on a 24/7 YouTube live stream, send them to YouTube through a live encoder: use OBS on a computer that stays powered and connected, or use cloud playout to keep the stream running without leaving a computer at home. For an India-based channel, first confirm live-streaming eligibility, clear the rights to every video and audio track, then test the stream before relying on it continuously.
What video rotation means on a YouTube live stream
A live rotation is not the same as putting videos in a normal YouTube playlist. An encoder plays your files in sequence or repeats them and sends the resulting feed to YouTube as a live broadcast. YouTube identifies encoder software as one way to go live; see its live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
You can do this locally with OBS or use a cloud service to play uploaded files and send the feed. The local method gives you direct control and avoids a cloud-planning fee, but the computer, media files, power and internet connection must remain available. Cloud playout moves that workload to a service, so you do not need to keep a home computer online; you still need to check that the YouTube stream is live and that the service is operating as expected.
Check YouTube eligibility and content rights first
Confirm the channel can go live
YouTube’s current guidance says a channel must be verified and must have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its guidance also states that users must be at least 16 to live stream. Check the channel’s Live Control Room before planning a long broadcast, since the account’s current status is decisive. Requirements and interface details can change; consult YouTube’s current live-streaming help.

Clear every part of every video
Only rotate material you own or have permission to broadcast. That includes footage, still images, music, narration and anything embedded in the video. Keep permission and licence records accessible.
YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” A match can lead to a placeholder, warning, interruption or termination. If you have a licence for third-party material and its owner uses Content ID, ask the owner to add your channel to the Content ID allowlist. A licence alone may not prevent an interruption. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Choose local OBS or cloud playout
| Approach | What stays online | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| OBS on a local computer | The computer, OBS, the media files, power and a stable internet connection. | Playback and audio, network and power reliability, and how you will notice and fix a stopped feed. |
| Cloud playout | The provider runs the playback and sends the encoder feed from its servers. | Price, storage, duration and resolution limits, playlist and scheduling tools, recovery controls, destination support, and account authorization and data practices. |
There is no independent head-to-head reliability test establishing that any option guarantees uninterrupted uptime. A cloud service shifts some dependencies away from your home setup; it does not remove the need to monitor the YouTube broadcast.

GoLiveIndia advertises a 24/7 Ultra Live plan with loop streaming, unlimited live duration, 1080p, playlist and schedule support, and six stored videos. Its page displayed the plan at ₹1,071/month when checked on October 3, 2026. The same page describes a free tier with a one-hour maximum, so that tier should not be treated as a 24/7 plan. These are vendor claims, and prices and features may change; confirm them on GoLiveIndia’s plan page.

Set up a 24/7 rotation with OBS
This workflow assumes you have a computer capable of running OBS for the duration of the stream, local access to the video files, and a stable internet connection. Exact YouTube and OBS interface labels can change; use the current YouTube Live Control Room and OBS documentation if a control has moved.
- Prepare a rotation folder. Put only cleared videos in a dedicated folder. Check that each file plays with its audio before adding it. Keep the computer from sleeping during the broadcast, and make sure it has reliable power and network access.
- Create the live stream in YouTube Studio. Open the channel’s Live Control Room, create or select a stream, and choose encoder software as the streaming method. Review the stream’s title, visibility and other broadcast details before going live. YouTube’s setup guidance covers the platform’s encoder workflow.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In the Live Control Room, locate the stream key and copy it into OBS’s stream settings for the YouTube service. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or share it. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS with the new key.
- Add the video source. In OBS, add a Media Source and select a video file. Enable the source’s Loop option to repeat that file. The OBS Media Sources guide describes the available source controls. Watch the preview and listen to the audio to check framing, playback and sound before starting the stream.
- Build a sequence if you need multiple files. Add the intended files as sources and arrange them in the order you want them to appear, or use an OBS playlist-capable source for a file sequence. Check the source’s playback and repeat controls, then preview transitions between files. Controls vary by source type, so consult the OBS documentation for the source you use. Do not assume that adding several sources automatically creates a continuous rotation.
- Check YouTube’s ingest status before leaving the setup. Start streaming from OBS and confirm that the Live Control Room receives the feed and reports a healthy preview. Verify that the video advances or repeats as intended and that audio is present. Use the settings and recommendations shown in YouTube Studio for your stream rather than guessing at encoder values.
- Plan how you will respond to a failure. Keep a way to notice if OBS stops, the computer loses power, the connection drops or YouTube interrupts the stream. Decide who can restart the encoder and check the Live Control Room. A local setup cannot continue sending the feed while its computer or uplink is unavailable.
Optional local hardware
If you choose local playout and do not already have a suitable computer, a “mini PC for OBS streaming” is one possible search phrase, not a specific recommendation. The available evidence does not establish a model or minimum specification. Compare the machine’s ability to run your media and OBS continuously with the cost and limits of cloud playout before buying hardware.

Troubleshoot common rotation problems
- YouTube does not receive a feed: Confirm OBS is streaming, the selected YouTube service and stream key are correct, and the Live Control Room is open to the intended stream. If the key was reset or exposed, update OBS with the current one.
- The video plays once and stops: Check that Loop is enabled on the Media Source, or verify repeat settings for the playlist-capable source you selected. Preview it in OBS before relying on it.
- The stream is live but a file does not advance: Confirm that the files are included in the sequence, ordered correctly and supported by the source type. Test transitions and playback for each file.
- There is no sound or the level is wrong: Check that the source includes the intended audio, inspect OBS’s audio meters, and listen to the preview. Also check the file itself; an encoder cannot restore audio that is absent from the recording.
- The feed stops when you leave: In a local setup, check for sleep settings, power loss, OBS closure, computer failure or a lost uplink. A local encoder needs the computer and connection to remain available. With cloud playout, check the provider’s stream status and YouTube Live Control Room; cloud hosting does not eliminate monitoring.
- YouTube warns, interrupts or ends the broadcast: Check the Live Control Room and YouTube notifications for a rights match or other restriction. Remove material you are not authorized to stream. For licensed Content ID material, contact the owner about allowlisting the channel; a licence by itself may not prevent live interruption.
