Open YouTube on your Android TV box, start a fireplace video, and turn on Repeat for the current video. Autoplay is different: it moves to another related video rather than looping the same clip. To keep playback from being interrupted, check the box’s screensaver and Energy Saver behavior; menus and idle-display behavior vary by device.
Loop one fireplace video in YouTube
- Install YouTube if needed. On your Android TV or Google TV box, open the Google Play Store, search for YouTube, and install it. Google says YouTube is available on most smart TVs and streaming devices; the documented installation route for Android TV is through its Play Store. YouTube’s installation instructions cover supported TVs and devices.
- Start the video. Open YouTube, search for a fireplace video, and begin playback.
- Enable Repeat. While the video is playing, press Down on the remote to show playback controls and select Repeat. You can also look for Repeat in Settings while watching. Confirm that the control indicates the current video will repeat. YouTube’s looping instructions distinguish repeating a video from repeating a playlist.
If you want a sequence of fireplace videos rather than one clip, make a playlist and use YouTube’s Repeat • Playlist option. That loops the playlist, not just the video currently playing.
Keep the display from going idle
Check both the Android TV box and the television: either may have screen or power settings that affect what you see. Google notes that screensaver options differ by device, so do not assume every box has the same menu or a “never sleep” setting. On some Android TV devices, Google’s documented route is through Settings to the screen saver options, where Backdrop may be selected. If your menus differ, consult the box maker’s instructions. Android TV and Google TV include Ambient Mode. Android Developers describes the system entering Ambient Mode after 10 minutes of user inactivity, then potentially entering Energy Saver later according to the device’s setting. That 10-minute interval is the documented inactivity period before Ambient Mode, not a guaranteed limit on video playback. Platform guidance says video apps should prevent Ambient Mode during user-initiated playback, but not after playback stops or pauses. Actual behavior can differ by box, app version, and television. Repeat is not Autoplay
YouTube’s Autoplay setting starts another related video after the current one ends; it does not mean the same fireplace clip will repeat. For a continuous single-video loop, use Repeat. Autoplay is managed in YouTube Settings on the TV app. Read YouTube’s Autoplay instructions.
Consider a fireplace ambience app
A dedicated app may offer a fireplace-focused scene library or screensaver features, but check its current Google Play listing for compatibility with your exact box and for which features require payment. App descriptions are developer-provided, not a guarantee of performance on every device.

Troubleshoot interruptions
- The same video does not restart: check that Repeat is enabled for the current video. Autoplay is for starting another related video, not repeating the current one.
- The screen changes while playback continues: inspect the box’s screensaver and Energy Saver options, as well as the television’s own power settings. Menu names and behavior vary by device.
- Playback stops before the screen saver appears: check the video, app, and network connection. Ambient Mode guidance does not guarantee uninterrupted playback on every third-party box or app version.
- You cannot find YouTube or an app: check the Play Store on the box and confirm the app’s listing supports your specific device. Store availability and compatibility can change.
