What is the Season 5 update?
FOX made Season 5 the series’ fifth and final season. TVLine reported the ending as the show’s conclusion and described a 12-episode run, with the finale scheduled for early 2025. That means the commonly searched “Season 6” is not an upcoming season announced by FOX.

Was 9-1-1: Lone Star canceled?
In practical terms, yes: FOX ended the series after Season 5 rather than renewing it for another season. The network’s announcement framed the fifth season as the final chapter. No separate Season 6 renewal or premiere date has been announced.

Who is Season 5 about?
The drama remains centered on Austin’s 126 Fire Department. FOX’s series description follows Captain Owen Strand, played by Rob Lowe, who relocates from New York with his adult son, T.K., to help rebuild a firehouse after a tragedy.
The ensemble named in FOX’s program materials includes Gina Torres, Ronen Rubinstein, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Rafael Silva and Julian Works, alongside Lowe. A cast listing identifies the principal ensemble; it should not be read as a guarantee that every performer appears in every one of the 12 episodes.

- There is a definite endpoint. Season 5 is not a bridge to a confirmed sixth season; it is the show’s announced conclusion on FOX.
- The story is contained in 12 episodes. Viewers can approach the season as a shorter final run, with the finale planned for early 2025 in the original broadcast schedule.
- The viewing choice is access versus ownership. Hulu is a catalog-streaming route, while a Prime Video HD purchase is a digital transaction tied to the retailer’s availability rules.
What has not been confirmed
No authoritative source used for this update establishes a Season 5 physical-media edition, tie-in book, guide, collectible, toy, apparel line or replica prop. It also does not provide a separate audience, ratings or production-budget figure, so those numbers are not included here.
FOX’s statement on the ending
Michael Thorn, FOX Television Network President, thanked viewers and the creative team in the network’s announcement: “From the start, fans have followed the heroic and deeply moving stories of the men and women who make up Austin’s 126, so a huge thanks to one of the greatest creative teams in all of television — Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear — for creating one of the most action-packed dramas anywhere in television.”
