The Taylor Swift scavenger hunt is inside Google’s The Most Searched Playground, not ordinary Google Search. Open searchplayground.google, enter the illustrated world, go to the Music section and find Taylor Swift. The surrounding Taylor-themed objects begin a separate 10-item hunt called “Hidden Treasures (Taylor’s Version)”.
This was a December 2023 Google 25th-anniversary campaign. The official domain still responded on August 18, 2026, but a text-only check cannot establish that every interactive feature or the reward flow still works, so treat the instructions below as guidance for an archived or potentially time-limited experience.
What game is this?
The Most Searched Playground is a browser-based, illustrated landscape built around widely searched people, places and cultural moments from Google’s first 25 years. You explore the scene rather than download an app or search for Taylor in normal results.
Google’s campaign submission described more than 2,000 individual characters and moments, while a contemporaneous walkthrough counted more than 1,700 unique figures. Those are different reported counting methods, not a single definitive total. The game was presented as a large navigable environment with themed areas, including Music.
#1 Best Overall
Google’s campaign materials also described accessibility features such as alt text and sound clues, but those features should not be assumed to remain in any preserved version of the site.
How to start the Taylor Swift hunt
- Open https://searchplayground.google/ in a current browser.
- Wait for the artwork and controls to finish loading. The illustration-heavy page may take longer than an ordinary website.
- Use the on-screen navigation to explore the landscape. Depending on the preserved version, this may involve dragging, scrolling, clicking or tapping.
- Open the Music area.
- Look among the musicians for Taylor Swift.
- If the interface provides them, use its hint and compass controls rather than scanning the entire scene at random.
- After locating Taylor, select the nearby Taylor-related objects. Finding the central figure is only the beginning of the bonus hunt.
A desktop or tablet generally gives small objects more room on screen than a phone. Browser find commands are unlikely to locate objects rendered inside an interactive scene.
Where Taylor Swift appears
Contemporaneous coverage places Taylor in the Music section alongside other notable musicians. Do not interpret the route as a normal Search result: Taylor is an illustrated character in the Playground world. Also look around her area. The bonus clues are distributed through related objects, so clicking Taylor herself may not trigger the full quest.

What the 10-item bonus hunt does
Google’s campaign case study calls the quest “Hidden Treasures (Taylor’s Version)”. It describes 10 hidden items, one associated with each Taylor Swift album represented when the 2023 experience launched. That is a description of the 2023 campaign, not a claim about Taylor’s complete discography in 2026.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe same case study says the original campaign unlocked exclusive Taylor-related content through a private website. Available documentation does not establish the exact completion screen, destination or media in the current preserved site, so do not assume a particular video, badge or album page will appear.
Google’s case study reported that more than 150,000 fans found all 10 Taylor Easter eggs. It also reported 24.3 million users for the overall experience and at least 1.8 million people finding all 25 primary objects; these are campaign-reported figures, not independently audited measurements.
Spoilers: reported Taylor Swift hidden treasures
The list below combines examples described in contemporary coverage with a fan-maintained spoiler list. The community list is not official Google documentation, and exact placement or availability may differ if the site has been archived.
| Reported clue | What to look for | Album or era link |
|---|---|---|
| Heart-shaped boots | Boots whose upper or outline forms a heart | Not officially assigned in the available documentation |
| Number 13 | A hand, palm or sign displaying “13” | Taylor’s recurring number; no official album assignment stated |
| Green snake | A green snake figure | Commonly associated with Reputation; the source list does not establish an official label |
| Mirrorball | A disco or mirrorball | Often associated with Folklore; fan interpretation |
| Red heart-shaped sunglasses | Bright red glasses in a heart shape | Often associated with the Red era; fan interpretation |
| Seagulls | A group or scene of seagulls | Often associated with 1989; fan interpretation |
| Champagne | A champagne glass or bottle | Not officially assigned in the available documentation |
| Clock at midnight | A clock showing midnight | Often associated with Midnights; fan interpretation |
| Heart with an arrow | A heart pierced by an arrow | Not officially assigned in the available documentation |
| Heart-hand gesture | A person making a heart with both hands | Not officially assigned in the available documentation |
The contemporaneous walkthrough specifically mentions heart-shaped boots, a “13” hand, a green snake and a mirrorball. Select each clue in the scene and watch for the hunt’s progress indicator or confirmation. If an item does not register, try the surrounding object rather than its most obvious center point.

If Taylor or the clues do not appear
- Reload the official URL and allow the page to finish loading before navigating.
- Try a current desktop browser and temporarily disable aggressive script- or content-blocking extensions.
- Use the in-game compass or hint, if those controls are visible.
- Zoom out when the scene is too large to navigate, then zoom in when objects are too small to identify.
- Open the official domain directly instead of relying on an old article embed or cached copy.
- If Taylor appears but no quest starts, click the surrounding Taylor-themed objects as well as the character.
- If the page is blank, shows an archive notice or lacks interactive controls, the campaign may no longer be fully playable. The domain’s response alone does not prove that the original hunt survives.
Do not confuse it with Google’s 1989 vault puzzle
Google ran a separate Taylor Swift Easter egg in September 2023. It began in ordinary Google Search: search for “Taylor Swift,” click the blue vault and solve a series of 89 word puzzles connected to 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Google describes that experience in its official announcement at blog.google.
| Experience | How it starts | Main mechanic | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Most Searched Playground | Open searchplayground.google | Explore an illustrated world and locate Taylor-related objects | December 2023 campaign |
| 1989 (Taylor’s Version) vault puzzle | Search “Taylor Swift” in Google Search and click the blue vault | Collectively solve 89 word puzzles | September 19, 2023 |
Sources and historical context
The Taylor location, controls and example objects were reported by Chrome Unboxed in December 2023. Google’s campaign results and description of the 10-item hunt appear in its Shorty Awards case study. A fan-maintained spoiler discussion is available at Reddit; treat that list as community reporting, not an official map.
