MTailor did not shut down. As of August 18, 2026, the custom-clothing company operated by Bit Body, Inc. still has an active website, a live iOS app and a live Android app. It did not reach a deal with any Shark during its Season 7 appearance, but it continued without Shark backing and expanded well beyond its original custom-shirt pitch.
What happened on Shark Tank?
Founder Miles Penn presented MTailor as a smartphone-based alternative to visiting a tailor. A customer stood in front of a phone, recorded a short video while turning around, and used the resulting body data to order custom clothing online.
MTailor asked for $2.5 million for 10% equity, implying a $25 million valuation. The pitch raised questions about that valuation, manufacturing and supply-chain economics, the company’s need for operational help, and whether its measurement technology justified the requested terms. The episode ended without a confirmed investment.
The company’s accuracy claims should also be read carefully. MTailor has marketed its system as more accurate than a professional tailor, including a “20% more accurate” claim, but that is the company’s own test and marketing claim—not an independent industry standard.

Did a Shark invest in MTailor?
No confirmed Shark deal was made. Post-show records classify MTailor as not funded, and there is no evidence that Kevin O’Leary or another Shark became an investor. O’Leary’s appearance was part of the televised pitch, not proof of a completed transaction. See the Shark Tank Blog update and SharkTankDB’s Season 7 listing.
Did MTailor fail after the show?
No. The current evidence points to continued operation:
Rank #2
- 20% more compact grip**: For improved ergonomics and control
- Integrated finger brake: For improved blade control
- Fractional blade graphics for quick and easy measuring
- Durable blade coating for longer blade life
- The official MTailor website remains active.
- The Android app listing shows an update dated July 10, 2026.
- Google Play lists more than 500,000 downloads and approximately 3.8 stars from about 2,150 reviews.
- The U.S. App Store lists approximately 4.6 stars from roughly 5,000 ratings.
- Both app stores identify the developer as Bit Body, Inc.
Store ratings and review counts change, and reviews include both positive experiences and complaints about fit, shipping, usability and product expectations. App availability is evidence that the service is maintained; it is not a guarantee that every order will satisfy every customer.
How the business changed
The original pitch centered on custom shirts. MTailor now presents a broader direct-to-consumer catalog and continues to operate its own measurement-and-ordering system.
Rank #3
- 16-foot retractable measuring tape for personal or professional use
- Provides both SAE and metric measurements
- Wide 3/4-inch blade with easy readability
- Convenient belt clip and lanyard for easy access
- Molded, impact-resistant case with easy grip-ability
A Shark Tank Blog update reported that the company had raised $2 million before appearing on the show, followed by $7.2 million in 2018 and $8.3 million in January 2022. The same secondary report estimated about $13 million in annual sales and a company value near $25 million in 2024. Those financing, sales and valuation figures are reported estimates, not figures independently confirmed here by an MTailor filing or investor announcement.

How the current app and measurement process work
MTailor offers two routes. You can browse and customize on the website, then download the app for measurement, or use the all-in-one app to browse, customize, measure and check out.
- Place the phone as instructed, with a clear camera view.
- Stand back at the required distance in suitable lighting.
- Record the brief video while turning around once.
- Let MTailor use the captured data to calculate garment measurements and create a pattern for the selected product.
- Review the customization and order for manufacturing and delivery.
MTailor’s official pages describe the scan as taking roughly 15–30 seconds. They do not state one universal measurement count: one page refers to more than 60 measurements, while other product-specific descriptions use fewer points. The measurement set varies by garment category.

What if the clothing does not fit?
MTailor currently advertises a fit process that distinguishes a remake from a refund:
- Contact the company within 90 days after delivery about a fit problem.
- Request an adjusted replacement garment, which the company describes as a free remake when the problem qualifies.
- Choose a refund instead if you do not want a remake, subject to the current policy.
- Follow the company’s instructions, which may include describing the issue or providing photographs.
The How It Works page and FAQ contain the current eligibility and return wording. App listings and the website also advertise free returns and shipping, but policy conditions can change.
Who is MTailor best for?
MTailor is most attractive to shoppers who want custom sizing without an in-person appointment, have difficulty with standard off-the-rack sizes, and are comfortable using a phone camera for measurement. Its expanded catalog makes the service relevant beyond the shirt-focused product shown on television.
It is less suitable if you need clothing immediately, want face-to-face styling, require highly specialized alterations, or prefer to assess fabric and drape in person. A phone scan cannot fully reproduce a tailor’s judgment about posture, styling or unusual alterations. Accurate measurements also cannot prevent disappointment caused by an unwanted fabric, color, cut or style.
How to reduce ordering problems
- Follow the app’s positioning, lighting and clothing instructions exactly.
- Use a clear background and keep the camera view unobstructed.
- Save screenshots of the order, fabric, customization choices and measurements.
- Read the current remake and return terms before paying.
- Contact MTailor promptly if the fit is wrong instead of waiting near the end of the 90-day window.
- Check the app for fabric availability before ordering because inventory can change.
The bottom line
MTailor is a Shark Tank company that failed to land a Shark, not a company that disappeared. Its website, expanded custom-clothing range, active iOS and Android listings, July 2026 Android update and current fit policies show an operating business in 2026. Customers can still start at mtailor.com, through the iOS app or via the Android app.
