Lycoris Recoil -Friends are thieves of time.- is streaming internationally on Crunchyroll. The project is a six-episode short-anime series—not Lycoris Recoil Season 2—and all six episodes, including an English dub, are available as of Crunchyroll’s June 9, 2025 update.
What the international streaming update changed
On April 14, 2025, Crunchyroll announced that it would stream Lycoris Recoil -Friends are thieves of time.- outside Japan. The announcement made Crunchyroll the clearly identified international streaming home instead of limiting the project to Japan’s release services or the official Aniplex YouTube channel.

Crunchyroll listed North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and the CIS among the covered territories. That is a regional announcement rather than a guarantee of identical availability in every country, so local catalogs should be checked on the official Crunchyroll episode page.
It is not Season 2
This project should not be labeled Lycoris Recoil Season 2. It is a limited run of six short episodes built from original, everyday stories about Chisato, Takina and the Café LycoReco group. The official description presents it as a character-focused side project, not as a full-length continuation of the main action storyline.

The six-short project was first announced in July 2024. Its full title, key visual and episode-level staff were revealed in January 2025. Crunchyroll’s announcement describes the format as short anime episodes, while earlier coverage also used the term “short films.”

Where to watch it now
International viewers
Crunchyroll is the practical international option identified by the official announcement. Its listing shows Japanese and English audio, along with multiple subtitle options, although the exact menu can vary by country. Crunchyroll’s current access rules, subscription tiers and trial terms also vary and can change; the announcement does not establish that every episode is permanently free or included in every plan.
Viewers in Japan
The Japanese rollout used the official Aniplex YouTube channel alongside Japanese streaming platforms. Availability on that route may depend on geography, release window and whether the episodes remain publicly viewable.

How many episodes are there?
There are six short episodes. The available episode information identifies the first two as “Take it easy” and “Miles away”; the remaining installments completed the six-part weekly run. The official material does not provide a complete set of plot summaries, so the safest expectation is a collection of brief, self-contained Café LycoReco stories rather than a serialized new conflict.
English dub and language options
Yes. Crunchyroll’s June 9, 2025 update confirms that an English-dubbed version is available. The episode page lists Japanese and English audio, but language and subtitle selections can differ by market. If an English track does not appear in a particular country, that reflects catalog licensing rather than evidence that the dub was never produced.

What to expect before watching
- For the main story: Watch the 2022 television anime first so the Café LycoReco cast and relationships are familiar.
- For a full sequel: These six shorts are supplementary character stories, not a replacement for a second full season.
- For international access: Start with Crunchyroll, then verify your country’s catalog, audio and subtitle menu.
- For Japanese distribution: The Aniplex YouTube route was part of the original domestic release plan, but its availability can differ outside Japan.
The original announcement is documented by Crunchyroll’s international streaming update. The title and staff details appear in its January 2025 announcement, while the release timing is covered in the March 2025 release notice.
