The claim was accurate at launch, but it is now historical. On February 28, 2024, Morph Studio introduced a storyboard-based filmmaking platform in which users prompted individual shots, generated clips, edited them together and shared reusable workflows. The launch used Stability AI technology alongside Morph’s own video model. Stability AI later discontinued its hosted Stable Video API on July 24, 2025, so the original description should not be read as current documentation.
What Morph Studio launched in 2024
TechCrunch described Morph as an AI filmmaking platform rather than a single prompt box. Its interface organized separate shots or scenes in a storyboard. A creator could enter prompts, generate alternatives, select clips, arrange them into a narrative and share the workflow so another user could copy it or change the prompts. TechCrunch’s February 28, 2024 report is the source for those launch details.
“Make films” meant assembling short AI-generated sequences into a movie-like edit. The evidence does not establish feature-length production, professional nonlinear-editing support, dialogue recording, sound mixing or reliable continuity across a complete film.
How the storyboard workflow worked
- Plan shots. Break an idea into separate scenes, camera views or beats instead of asking for one long video.
- Prompt each shot. Describe the subject, action, setting, visual style and camera direction for an individual clip.
- Generate and select. Create variations and keep the takes that best serve the sequence.
- Arrange the edit. Place clips in storyboard order, cross-cut between them or combine them into a short narrative.
- Reuse the recipe. Share the workflow with other creators, who could replicate it or modify prompts.
This is a meaningful distinction from ordinary text-to-video: the product treated generation as one stage in a multi-shot workflow. Final sound design, dialogue, color work, titles, compositing and delivery would still require conventional post-production unless a separate tool supplied them.

Where Stability AI fit
The launch report says Morph’s workflow was enabled by a partnership with Stability AI, while Morph also offered its own text-to-video model and planned to add more models. That supports a partnership and model option—not the claim that Stability AI built the entire platform or generated every Morph clip.
Accordingly, “Stability AI-generated clips” applies to the relevant launch-era path. A project could also use Morph’s model, and later platform choices cannot be inferred from the 2024 announcement. The report does not show that the Stability model guaranteed consistent characters, locations, costumes or camera geography from shot to shot.
Why multi-shot AI filmmaking is difficult
Continuity
Generating an attractive isolated shot is easier than preserving the same character, clothing, props, lighting and environment across a sequence. Identity and wardrobe can drift between prompts, forcing repeated generations and manual selection.
Motion and camera consistency
AI video may introduce temporal glitches, unnatural movement or a different camera direction than the preceding shot. Matching lens language, screen direction and geography requires careful prompting and editing.
Prompt sensitivity and failed takes
Small wording changes can alter a subject’s appearance or action. A storyboard interface helps organize attempts; it does not by itself provide persistent scene state or solve continuity.
What the original product was likely useful for
The design is a natural fit for concept trailers, mood films, previsualization, social-video sequences, product or marketing narratives, music-video experiments, short fiction and visual development for a pitch. These are practical inferences from its prompt-and-storyboard design, not documented performance results.
What changed after launch
Stability AI announced that its hosted Stable Video API would be discontinued effective July 24, 2025. The company said the Stable Video model could still be deployed with a self-hosted license. Read the API discontinuation notice and the developer release notes for the company’s announcements.

Morph’s current public positioning is broader: its company description and homepage describe text-to-video, image-to-video, style transfer, enhancement and an all-in-one creation workflow. Its pricing page lists multiple models, including Morph, Kling, Sora, Veo, Hailuo, Wan, Seedance and Hunyuan Video. Model availability and plan contents can change.

Morph estimates roughly 75, 300 and 750 videos for Basic, Pro and Premier, but those are approximate. Expensive models can consume far more credits, so compare credits per usable shot rather than the headline video count. Check the live pricing page immediately before subscribing.
Who should use Morph?
Good fit
- Creators who want one interface for several video models.
- Teams making concept pieces, social sequences or marketing drafts quickly.
- Filmmakers who benefit from a sequential or storyboard-oriented workflow.
- Users who want to compare model outputs without operating infrastructure.
Potentially poor fit
- Productions needing frame-accurate editing, audio mixing or color-managed finishing.
- Teams requiring enterprise security, audit controls or contractual indemnification.
- Projects that depend on strong identity continuity across many scenes.
- Buyers who need guaranteed Stability-specific provenance or predictable per-shot costs.

Stability AI’s hosted Stable Video API is not a current like-for-like alternative. Organizations considering self-hosting should review the license, acceptable-use policy and terms of service.
Commercial-use and rights checklist
- Confirm whether the Morph plan’s commercial-use permission applies to the specific model used.
- Check whether free-plan outputs have different rights from paid-plan outputs.
- Review restrictions on advertising, client work, festivals, resale and distribution.
- Verify rights and permissions for uploaded images, likenesses, trademarks and source footage.
- Check whether the underlying model’s license or disclosure rules add requirements.
- Do not treat a plan-level “commercial use” label as a complete answer to copyright, likeness or training-data questions.
Historical facts that should not be overread
TechCrunch reported that Morph had approximately 10 employees and had raised $2.5 million from Baidu Ventures at the time of its 2024 story. Those are launch-era figures, not current company metrics. The same report does not provide independent quality testing, continuity measurements, generation-cost comparisons or proof of feature-film output.

Verdict
Morph Studio’s 2024 launch was an early example of turning AI video generation into a storyboarded, multi-shot filmmaking process. Its Stability AI partnership was real in that launch context, but the hosted Stable Video API behind that era ended in 2025. In 2026, evaluate Morph as a broader, multi-model creation service and verify the exact model, credits and rights for each project rather than assuming the original Stability workflow still applies.
