Apple’s documented remedies are to enable Use Listening History on every listening device, verify the Apple Account linked to your subscription, update your software, test replay.music.apple.com, and check Apple’s live service status. A missing final 2026 recap in August is expected because year-end insights represent the full calendar year.
What “Replay not working” actually means
Replay is a group of features rather than one file that appears on a set date:

- Replay playlist: an evolving playlist that Apple says is updated weekly.
- Monthly insights: listening summaries that can appear once your account becomes eligible.
- Replay website: the browser-based view and highlight experience.
- Year-end recap: the completed calendar-year summary, which is not final before the year ends.
Apple calculates Replay from listening history, play counts, and listening time. It also requires sufficient listening activity, but Apple’s current support guidance does not publish a universal number of minutes, plays, or days. Feature availability can vary by country or region. See Apple’s guidance at Apple Support.
Seven fixes, in the safest order
1. Confirm that the feature you expect is available
In the Apple Music app, open Home and look for Replay: Your Top Music. Open its statistics with Go back in time. If only the year-end recap is missing in August 2026, that is normal: the full calendar-year experience cannot be complete until the year ends. Monthly insights and the changing playlist may still be available earlier.

If the account is new or has very little listening activity, Replay may simply not be eligible yet. Continue listening normally and check again later; do not rely on an invented “minimum hours” rule.
2. Turn on Use Listening History everywhere
Apple identifies listening history as the key requirement. Check every device used for Apple Music, not just your phone.
- iPhone or iPad: open Settings → Apps → Music, then turn on Use Listening History.
- Mac: in Apple Music, choose Music → Settings → General, then select Use Listening History.
- Android: open Apple Music, tap More → Settings, and turn on Use Listening History.
Enabling the setting records future activity. It cannot be assumed to reconstruct listening from a period when history was disabled.
3. Check whether your account has enough listening history
Apple says Replay appears after you have played enough music, but does not state a current public threshold. Recently starting Apple Music, using it only occasionally, or enabling history after a long gap can therefore leave the playlist or insights unavailable for a while. Keep listening with history enabled and allow processing time. The playlist is not promised to change immediately after every play; Apple describes weekly updates.

Apple’s earlier Replay explanation describes a personalized eligibility progress indicator, but that historical product announcement does not establish a fixed 2026 threshold: Apple’s 2022 Replay announcement.
4. Verify the Apple Account tied to Apple Music
Replay must be opened with the same Apple Account associated with the Apple Music subscription. Compare the account shown in the Music app with the account used at replay.music.apple.com. Also check whether a recent Apple Account change, region change, or Family Sharing change altered which account actually has Apple Music access.
Do not repeatedly sign in at random. If the website shows no Replay while the app contains a playlist, you may be looking at different accounts, a stale web session, or a difference between playlist and insights availability.
5. Update the app and operating system
Apple’s troubleshooting sequence starts with software updates. Install available updates for iOS, iPadOS, or Android, and update Apple Music through the relevant app store when an update is offered. Then force-close and reopen Music, restart the device, and check Home → Replay: Your Top Music again.

Apple does not publish a specific required operating-system version in the cited guidance, so do not treat an unofficial version number as a universal requirement.
6. Test Replay directly on the web
- Open https://replay.music.apple.com on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, PC, or Android device.
- Sign in with the Apple Account linked to Apple Music.
- Select Jump In.
If Replay works in the browser, the account and eligibility are less likely to be the problem; restart or update the app and check its Home tab. If the page does not load, try a private window, another browser, another device or network, and temporarily disable content blockers. Clearing cookies for the Replay site can remove a stale session, but these browser steps are general troubleshooting rather than Apple-confirmed Replay-specific fixes.
7. Check Apple’s status page, then contact Apple
Before signing out, deleting the app, or changing account settings, check the live Apple System Status page. Look for Apple Music, Apple Music Subscriptions, Apple Account, Sign in with Apple, and related iCloud services. A green “Available” indicator means Apple has not identified a broad incident; it does not prove that an individual account, browser, region, or device is healthy.
If the services are available and the account appears eligible, contact Apple Support. Provide your account identifier privately, device model, operating-system and Music app versions, whether Replay works on the web, whether history is enabled on every device, screenshots of errors, and when the problem began.

When the playlist exists but statistics are missing
Playlist access and detailed insights do not necessarily appear identically at every moment or interface. Check the web version, confirm listening history on all devices, and allow time for processing. A playlist that exists does not guarantee that every monthly card or highlight is already populated.
When Replay statistics look wrong
- History may have been disabled on one device while enabled on another.
- Listening may have occurred under a different Apple Account.
- Another person may have used the same account or device, adding their plays.
- Rankings may not yet reflect recent listening because updates are not instant.
- Replay may differ from a third-party scrobbler or play counter; Apple uses its own history, play-count, and time-listened data.
Check the account and device settings first, then wait for a subsequent update. Adding or removing a song from the Replay playlist does not change the underlying listening-history calculation, and Apple does not promise retroactive reconstruction for unrecorded listening.

When not to use drastic fixes
Reinstalling Apple Music is not among Apple’s primary Replay remedies and can create avoidable sign-in or library-sync complications. Treat it as a last resort only after confirming that your library is synced and you can access the account. Likewise, sign out only after verifying your credentials; a stale session can be tested first through the web version.
