To pair Spotify with a compatible TV, streaming device, PlayStation, or Xbox, open Spotify on that device, choose Log in with PIN or Log in with code, then visit https://www.spotify.com/pair on a phone, tablet, or computer. Sign in, enter the code shown on the TV, and wait for Spotify to finish logging in.
What the Spotify pairing code does
The pairing code is a temporary authentication method displayed by the Spotify app on a supported TV or console. It lets you connect your Spotify account without typing a long email address and password with a remote. It is a login option inside the Spotify app, not a universal TV activation code.
What you need
- A supported smart TV, TV-connected streaming device, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or Xbox with Spotify installed.
- An internet connection on the target device.
- A phone, tablet, or computer for entering the code.
- A Spotify account. Premium is not required simply to pair or log in.
Official Spotify pairing website
Use https://www.spotify.com/pair. The forms spotify.com/pair and www.spotify.com/pair are on Spotify’s official domain. The page may ask you to sign in before it accepts the code.
- Enter the PIN on your phone, tablet, or computer, not in the TV’s web browser.
- Check that the address ends in
spotify.com. - Do not enter your Spotify password on an unofficial “activation” website.

How to pair Spotify with a smart TV
- Connect the TV or streaming device to the internet.
- Open its app store and search for Spotify.
- Install or update the official Spotify app.
- Open Spotify and select Log in.
- Choose Log in with PIN, Log in with code, or the equivalent wording. Labels vary by platform, language, and app version.
- Leave the code visible on the TV.
- On another device, open https://www.spotify.com/pair.
- Sign in if requested, enter the displayed PIN, and approve the login if Spotify asks.
- Wait for the TV app to refresh and load your account.
How to pair Spotify with PlayStation 4 or 5
- Download and open Spotify on the PlayStation.
- Select Log in, then choose email and password, Spotify Connect, or Log in with PIN.
- Open https://www.spotify.com/pair on a phone, tablet, or computer.
- Enter the PIN shown on the console and wait for confirmation.
Spotify says signing in can link the Spotify account with the PlayStation Network account, allowing automatic Spotify login when you sign in to PSN. For platform details, see Spotify’s PlayStation instructions.
Unlink Spotify from PlayStation
- On your Spotify account page, open Manage apps and remove Sony’s access.
- On the console, go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Link Services → Spotify → Unlink.
Unlinking Spotify from PSN is different from simply logging out of the Spotify app.

PIN login versus Spotify Connect

For Connect, open Spotify, start playback, tap the device/Connect control, and select the TV. On iPhone, Spotify may need Local Network permission. On Android TV, allow Spotify to display over other apps at Settings → Apps → Special app access → Display over other apps. More guidance is available in Spotify’s Connect help.
Fix a Spotify code that does not work
The code is rejected
- Confirm that you used https://www.spotify.com/pair.
- Check every digit for typing errors.
- Return to the TV or console, cancel the PIN screen, and open the code-login option again.
- Generate a fresh code and enter it promptly. Spotify does not publish one universal expiration interval for this flow.
- Make sure the code shown is for the device you intend to connect.
The pairing page will not load
- Switch the phone from Wi-Fi to cellular data, or use a computer.
- Try a private/incognito browser window.
- Temporarily disable a VPN, content blocker, or restrictive DNS.
- Reopen the page after generating a new code.
The TV remains on the login screen
- Restart Spotify and the TV.
- Restart the router and check the TV’s internet connection.
- Update Spotify and the TV operating system.
- Uninstall and reinstall Spotify.
- Try another network.

The TV does not appear in Spotify Connect
- Turn on the TV and leave Spotify open.
- Put both devices on the same Wi-Fi network where possible.
- Update Spotify and the TV software.
- Enable iPhone Local Network permission for Spotify.
- On Android TV, enable Spotify’s Display over other apps permission.
- Check that another device is not already controlling playback.
Devices on a shared network can sometimes appear in Connect. Do not select a device you do not recognize.
If Spotify is missing from the TV
Search the TV or set-top-box app store first. Spotify is available on many TVs, but support depends on the model, operating system, region, and software version. If there is no native app, Spotify lists alternatives including Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, and NOW Smart Stick. Availability varies by country and device.

Bluetooth fallback
- Turn on Bluetooth on the phone or computer and on the TV or attached sound system.
- Pair the devices in their Bluetooth settings.
- Close Spotify while establishing the connection, then reopen it and play audio.
- If pairing fails, forget the Bluetooth device and pair it again.
Bluetooth sends audio from the source device; it does not install or authenticate the Spotify TV app. See Spotify’s Bluetooth guidance.

- Approve only a code displayed on the TV or console you intend to use.
- On a shared or public TV, sign out before leaving.
- If an unfamiliar device appears, do not connect to it. Sign out everywhere, remove suspicious third-party access, and reset your Spotify password if you think the account was exposed.
Does pairing require Spotify Premium?
No. Spotify’s TV login instructions offer account authentication methods without stating Premium as a requirement. Spotify also offers a free, ad-supported service in the United States; Premium adds features such as ad-free listening, offline listening, and additional playback controls.
