United States
ESPN’s archived event page identifies the fixture as a German Bundesliga broadcast on ESPN2: ESPN event listing. ESPN2 access normally depended on a participating pay-TV, live-TV or authenticated provider. A channel listing is not proof of a free stream, and the archived page may no longer provide playable video.

The Bundesliga’s U.S. broadcaster directory listed ESPN+ for the relevant rights period: U.S. broadcaster directory. That league-level listing should not be read as confirmation that an ESPN+ subscription alone carried this exact ESPN2 fixture.
Germany
The DFB record lists Sky. Bayern’s 2025/26 rights explanation says live Bundesliga coverage was on Sky/Sky Sport Bundesliga or authorized WOW products, with package and conference availability varying; free-to-air services generally supplied highlights rather than every live match. See Bayern’s rights guide.
Is there a free legal livestream now?
No. The match was played in 2025, so no live feed exists in 2026. No universally free, legal U.S. full-match stream has been verified. “Free” can instead mean highlights, access included with an existing television package, or a temporary promotion; those are different from a no-subscription live broadcast.
Do not use pirate restreams, mirror sites or unauthorized “free streaming” aggregators. They can be illegal, deceptive, unsafe and unstable, and a VPN does not create rights to a territory-restricted broadcast.

Official Bundesliga highlights
Bundesliga states that English-language highlights for all matches become available on Bundesliga.com and in the Bundesliga app from 00:00 CEST on the Tuesday after the weekend matchday. Some viewers outside Germany, Austria and Switzerland may see standalone highlights earlier through the match center. Details are in the league’s highlights policy.
Bayern’s official video page
Check the club’s match-video page for highlights, interviews and clips. A “re-live” or full replay may require Bayern TV PLUS and can disappear, so the page is not a guarantee of free full-match access.
Archived broadcaster pages and match data
The ESPN event page may remain useful as a schedule record or authenticated replay entry. Availability, login requirements and expiration are controlled by ESPN. Official league, club and federation pages remain reliable places for the score, lineups, report and statistics.
How to choose a legitimate viewing option
- Confirm that the listing is for the exact Bayern–Werder fixture, not merely Bundesliga coverage.
- Check whether the item is live, a replay or highlights.
- Verify your country and language rights.
- Look for TV-provider authentication, device limits and regional restrictions.
- Distinguish an included channel from a new subscription or add-on.
U.S. rights changed for 2026/27
On July 16, 2026, Bundesliga announced a new U.S. arrangement: USA Sports would carry at least 30 matches per season, other English-language matches would stream free on Fandango, and Telemundo/Universo with Peacock would serve Spanish-language coverage. The announcement is at Bundesliga’s rights release. These 2026/27 rights do not retroactively stream the September 2025 match.

Subscription options for future U.S. matches
| Need | Option | Caveat |
|---|---|---|
| Free official clips | Bundesliga.com or Bayern’s official channels | Highlights and clips, not a guaranteed full replay |
| ESPN soccer inventory during the applicable period | ESPN Select | Rights and pricing change; it does not make this historical match live |
| Broad ESPN sports catalog | ESPN Unlimited | More than needed for one archived soccer match |
| 2026/27 Bundesliga in the U.S. | USA Sports/Fandango or Telemundo/Peacock | Applies to the new rights cycle, not the 2025 fixture |
ESPN’s soccer page displayed ESPN Select at $12.99 per month in August 2026; another official ESPN page showed $11.99 monthly or $119.99 annually. Prices and plan pages can differ, so confirm the current amount at checkout. ESPN Unlimited was displayed at $29.99 per month. Neither price guarantees access to this archived Bayern–Werder game.
Finding a future Bayern–Werder broadcast
For a new fixture, start with the official Bundesliga Fixtures & Results page and check the broadcaster directory close to kickoff. The directory says the active broadcaster is typically shown about three days before the match. Rights vary by country and season, so never transfer Sky, ESPN or a previous season’s listing to a new game without checking.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Bayern–Werder in 2025 is historical, not live. For the September 26 match, ESPN2 was the U.S. listing and Sky was listed in Germany. Use official Bundesliga or Bayern highlights, and treat any archived replay as conditional on current authentication and availability.
