This guide is for Fire TV products, not automatically for Amazon Fire tablets.
What you need
- A compatible Fire TV device or Fire TV Edition television with current software.
- An internet connection and a Fubo account with an eligible plan for streaming.
- For the easier activation option, a phone, tablet, or computer to enter the code shown on the TV.
Installing the app does not itself provide access to live or on-demand programming. Check Fubo’s current plans for availability, pricing, trial eligibility, and any promotional terms; these can vary by market and account.
Check whether your Fire device supports Fubo
Fubo’s supported-device listing specifies Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition televisions running Android OS 7.0 or newer. Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, and televisions with Fire TV built in are the relevant product category. Fubo’s compatibility listing also names Insignia HD and 4K (2018), Toshiba HD and 4K (2018), and Element 4K (2017) Fire TV Edition sets. Those examples are not a substitute for checking the exact device and its software. The listing showed Fubo app version v5.49.0 when checked; app versions change. See Fubo’s supported-device list.
Check Fire TV software
- Open Settings.
- Select My Fire TV, then About.
- Select Fire TV and review Software Version.
Fubo’s newer compatibility information gives the Android OS 7.0-or-newer requirement; an older sign-in help page warns that devices below Fire OS 5 may no longer work. If your system is old, install available Fire TV updates before deciding the device is unsupported. Menu names can differ slightly across models. Fubo’s sign-in guidance is at its sign-in help page.

These instructions describe the U.S. Fire TV experience. App-store availability can depend on device and Amazon account country or region settings. A Fire tablet is not a Fire TV device; check Fubo’s supported-device information for the tablet and its available app store rather than assuming this TV app applies.
Install Fubo on Fire TV
- From the Fire TV home screen, choose Find, then Search. On some older interfaces, Search appears directly on the home screen.
- Search for Fubo. Alternatively, hold the remote’s microphone or Alexa button and say “Fubo.”
- Select the official Fubo app in the results.
- Choose Get or Download (the label may vary), then select Open when installation finishes.

Sign in or activate the app
Use an activation code
- Open Fubo on the TV and choose the sign-in option that displays an activation code.
- On a phone, tablet, or computer, open fubo.tv/connect and sign in if prompted.
- Enter the code displayed on the TV and complete the sign-in flow.
The code expires after five minutes. If it has expired, return to the TV app to request or display a fresh code, then enter that one.
Sign in with email and password
Choose Sign In with Email and enter the credentials for your Fubo account using the remote. If typing on the TV is awkward, use the activation-code method instead. Fubo’s Fire TV guide describes both options.

Find live TV, sports, recordings, and on-demand programs
- Guide: Browse live and upcoming programming on channels included with your plan.
- Sports, Shows, and Movies: Browse by category or genre.
- All Channels: Review the channel lineup available to your account.
- My Stuff: Find favorites, recently watched content, and recordings. Recordings are under My Stuff > Recordings.
- Favorites and filters: Use the app’s personalization controls to organize or filter what you see.
A working app does not guarantee every channel, game, or program is available in every location or plan. Fubo notes that some sports events may be unavailable because of blackouts; rights and regional availability also affect what appears for an account. See the Fire TV guide for app navigation details.

- Getting set up is easy – Plug in and connect to Wi-Fi for smooth streaming.
- Highlight Fubo on the home screen, press the remote’s Menu button, choose More Info, then select Update if offered.
- Alternatively, open Apps, highlight Fubo, choose Update if shown, and select Update App Now.
If no update option appears, the app may already be current. Fubo documents these interface-dependent methods in its app update help and Fire TV guide.

| Fubo does not appear in search | Confirm you have a Fire TV product, check its software and install available system updates, and verify the device and Amazon account region. Restart Fire TV, then check Fubo’s supported-device list. Fubo’s missing-app help covers availability issues. Avoid treating an unofficial sideload as the standard fix: it may be unsupported and may cause update or security problems. |
| Activation code or sign-in fails | If the five-minute code window has passed, request a new code and refresh fubo.tv/connect. Check that you are using the correct account credentials, reset the password if needed, or try email-and-password sign-in. Update the app and Fire TV software if the problem persists. | App will not open or freezes | Restart Fire TV and check that the internet works in another app. To force-stop Fubo, go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Fubo > Force Stop, then reopen it. Clear the app cache if that option is available, update the app, or uninstall and reinstall it. Fubo’s Fire TV troubleshooting guide includes these steps; its uninstall instructions cover removal. |
| Video buffers, freezes, or will not play | Test another streaming app to see whether the connection problem is broader than Fubo. Restart Fire TV and network equipment, improve the device’s Wi-Fi signal or move it closer to the router, close other streaming apps, and force-stop and reopen Fubo. If only a particular event is unavailable, check for a blackout or other availability restriction. |
| Guide shows the wrong time | Fubo uses the device’s time settings. On Fire TV, open Settings > Preferences > Time Zone, choose United States, and set the correct time zone. See Fubo’s time-zone instructions. |
If this Fire TV is unsupported
Use a device you already own if it appears on Fubo’s supported-platform list. Fubo lists options including Roku, Apple TV, Android TV/Google TV, Xbox, supported smart TVs, computers, and mobile devices. Availability depends on the specific model and region; consult Fubo’s device list. Replacing a Fire TV will not resolve account, plan, blackout, or home-network problems.
