Nicholas Braimbridge and Tony Cooper were real Bridgerton crew members, not characters. The Season 4 finale honored them with an “In Loving Memory” card shown before the closing credits. Braimbridge was a scenic artist and faux finisher; Cooper worked as a unit or cast driver.
Why did Bridgerton honor them?
The finale displayed the dedication “In Loving Memory of Nicholas Braimbridge and Tony Cooper” immediately before the end credits. The Independent reported the tribute on February 26, 2026. It recognizes production workers whose contributions took place behind the camera rather than on screen.
Who was Nicholas Braimbridge?
Braimbridge was a scenic artist who worked on Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. His specialty was faux finishing: painting techniques that make constructed sets resemble expensive real materials.
His scenic-art specialty
His documented work included marbling and wood-grain effects, details that help period sets look like finished stone, polished timber and other richly crafted surfaces. Alison Gartshore, a production-design colleague, described him as an integral member of the art department and an expert faux finisher whose knowledge came from years working with high-end interior designers and later in film and television.
