Apple’s 2025 Black Friday offer was real: eligible new and returning U.S. subscribers could get Apple TV+ for $5.99 a month for six months. The promotion ended December 1, 2025, so it is not available now. Subscribers who did not cancel were reported to renew at $12.99 a month from month seven. This was a deal on Apple’s streaming service—not the Apple TV 4K device.
What the 2025 Apple TV+ deal included

MacRumors and 9to5Mac reported the offer and its terms in November 2025 (MacRumors; 9to5Mac). The six-month price was about $42 less than six months at the reported $12.99 standard rate, before tax. That saving applied only if an account qualified and the offer was accepted before it expired.
“Apple TV” can refer to different things. Apple TV+ is the streaming service; the Apple TV app is where people can watch it and other services; Apple TV 4K is Apple’s streaming hardware. The $5.99 offer was for Apple TV+, not a device.
Who could qualify—and why some accounts might not
The offer was reported for eligible new and returning subscribers, not as a universal discount. Active Apple TV+ subscribers were excluded, as were people billed through a carrier or another third party. Some people eligible for Apple’s separate three-month free trial could also be excluded, according to the deal coverage.

Returning did not guarantee eligibility. Some users in a MacRumors discussion said recently expired trials or subscriptions did not receive the promotion. Those are anecdotal reports, not a published Apple rule; account history and the offer shown at checkout could affect the result (MacRumors forum discussion).
- Still subscribed: An active subscription did not qualify for the discounted rate. Ending a subscription may not make an account eligible immediately while its paid period remains active.
- Billed by a provider: The 2025 offer excluded third-party-billed accounts. The provider that charged the subscription may also control its cancellation.
- Eligible for a free trial: Compare the trial’s duration and terms with the paid promotion before accepting either offer.
- Using multiple Apple Accounts: Check that the account signed in at checkout is the one you intend to use for the subscription.
The $5.99 figure was the U.S. offer. A forum participant reported a European offer at €4.99 a month for six months, but that user report does not establish availability or pricing across Europe. Local prices, taxes, terms, and eligibility can differ.

What happened after month six
The reported renewal price was $12.99 per month beginning in the seventh month unless the subscriber canceled. Treat that as the price reported for the 2025 promotion, not a guarantee of Apple TV+’s current price. Check the amount and next billing date displayed for the account before subscribing to any offer.
If you only wanted the discounted period, note the renewal date and cancel before the next billing date. Deleting the Apple TV app does not cancel a subscription. Cancellation also depends on who billed you: Apple’s guidance explains how to cancel subscriptions, while subscriptions billed through Google Play must be managed there or through the Apple TV app on Android (Apple subscription cancellation support).

- Apple billing: Use Apple’s subscription-management options for the Apple Account charged.
- Google Play billing: Cancel through Google Play or the Apple TV app on Android.
- Carrier or other provider billing: Contact that provider to manage or cancel the subscription.
Canceling prevents a future renewal; it does not necessarily end access immediately. The timing depends on the billing arrangement and terms. Apple’s subscription guide also explains Apple TV subscriptions and Apple TV Channels, which are separate subscriptions; Apple TV+ may also be included through Apple One (Apple TV subscription guide).
How enrollment would have worked while the offer was active
- Open Apple’s official Apple TV page or the Apple TV app and sign in with the Apple Account you intended to use.
- Review the account’s eligibility notice, promotional price, billing date, and renewal price. Accept only if checkout showed the expected $5.99 monthly rate.
- Save the confirmation email or a screenshot of the offer and next billing date.
- Manage or cancel the subscription through the platform that billed you.
Because the promotion expired on December 1, 2025, these steps do not mean that its banner or price is still available. For any future offer, rely on the terms shown at Apple’s official signup page rather than an old deal listing.
Was six months of Apple TV+ worth it?
The discount made most sense for someone with a specific set of Apple TV+ shows or films to watch within six months. The service is centered on Apple-produced originals rather than the broad rotating library of a general-entertainment service. The useful question is whether you want enough of Apple’s catalog to watch regularly—not simply whether $5.99 looked inexpensive.

- Consider a limited subscription if you had several titles on your watchlist and were willing to cancel before renewal.
- Wait until you are ready to watch if you wanted only one or two titles. A discounted month is still a charge for time you may not use.
- Skip it for now if you had no planned viewing or wanted a large all-purpose library.
- Compare bundles if you already wanted other Apple services. Apple One combines Apple TV+ with other services, but is not a way to extend the expired promotion (Apple One).
Viewers seeking a broader family or general-entertainment mix may prefer comparing current options such as Disney+ and Hulu, but those services do not include Apple TV+ originals. Check the official bundle page for current pricing and terms before deciding (Disney+ plans; Disney bundle details).

Do not rely on archived headlines for a live price: check Apple’s official signup page for any current offer, and confirm the final charge and renewal terms at checkout. If Apple TV+ is not available at a price that fits your plans, wait until you have titles ready to watch or compare a bundle you would use for more than one service.
