Jeep’s two-minute “Owner’s Manual” film, revealed during the Big Game on February 9, 2025, casts Harrison Ford as a narrator explaining that freedom means choosing what makes you happy. The Jeep he names in the closing line is the Wrangler 4xe.
What happens in the commercial
Ford delivers a reflective monologue about writing your own rules rather than following a fixed set of instructions. Jeep uses the idea of an owner’s manual as a metaphor for life: the possibilities are wide open, but each person has to decide what belongs in their own guide.
The film ends with Ford identifying the vehicle on screen: “This Jeep (Wrangler 4xe) makes me happy…even though my name is Ford. That’s my owner’s manual. Get out there. Write your own.” The joke works because Ford’s surname is also the name of another automaker, while the ad’s emotional point is that personal satisfaction matters more than brand expectations.
Which Jeep is Harrison Ford driving?
Jeep Wrangler 4xe
The closing copy names the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, a plug-in-hybrid version of the Wrangler. The commercial is a brand manifesto, not a road test, so its language about freedom should not be read as independent evidence of the Wrangler’s performance, range or off-road capability.

What “Owner’s Manual” means
Jeep and Ford frame the manual as a set of choices. Ford lists friends, family and work among the things that make him happy, then places the Wrangler 4xe in that same personal inventory. The message is less “buy this vehicle for a measured capability” than “use a Jeep as part of the life you choose.”
The Associated Press described the spot as reflective and centered on freedom and personal choices, highlighting Ford’s line, “This Jeep makes me happy, even though my last name is Ford.” That interpretation matches Jeep’s stated theme: freedom of possibility should lead people to choose what makes them happy.

Who made the Jeep ad?
| Role | Credit |
|---|---|
| Featured speaker | Harrison Ford |
| Director | James Mangold |
| Production | Minted Content, in collaboration with Stellantis |
| Original score | “Go Anywhere,” written and performed by Nathaniel Murphy |
| Length | Two minutes |
| Big Game reveal | February 9, 2025 |
Ford said he accepted the project because of the script’s straightforward communication about life, with the Jeep appearing as the hook at the end. Stellantis chief marketing officer Olivier Francois said the team deliberately pursued an intimate film whose quiet tone would stand out in the Super Bowl environment.
How the ad fits Jeep’s 2025 U.S. lineup
In the February 2025 announcement, Jeep described a U.S. portfolio spanning plug-in-hybrid and gasoline vehicles, along with the Grand Wagoneer S battery-electric vehicle. It also highlighted Jeep Wave, an owner loyalty and customer-care program offering exclusive benefits and 24/7 support. Those lineup and program details date to that announcement and are separate from the Wrangler 4xe featured in the film.

- Product size: 8.07*3.43*3.14 inches Weight: 1.04 pounds Outer packaging: exquisite color translucent packaging box.
- Material: Die-cast car model, made of zinc alloy, with plastic parts, rubber tires, detailed interior and exterior decoration.
- Function: press the front wheel (actually the front wheel is pressed) to trigger the sound of the engine and lights. It can open 7 doors, hood and trunk. The details inside the car body are very realistic. Place the car on the flat ground, press the car body and pull it backward, and the car will move forward. (Pull back function)
- This Wrangler 1/22 car model pull back car is very suitable for children to play with. The paint is exquisite and feels good, and it is heavy to hold. It is also very suitable for car model enthusiasts as a decoration.
- Great Die-cast Toy Car: Made of non-toxic paint spray, doesn't contain harmful substance, protecting the safety of children greatly.
The ad therefore connects three ideas without comparing them directly: a plug-in-hybrid Wrangler for the named vehicle, broader electrified and gasoline choices across Jeep’s range, and owner support through Jeep Wave. It does not establish which drivetrain or model is best for a particular driver.
What the commercial does—and does not—claim
- It does claim: Jeep associates its vehicles with personal freedom, possibility and choosing what brings happiness.
- It does identify: the featured model as the Jeep Wrangler 4xe.
- It does not provide: independent measurements of acceleration, electric range, fuel economy, towing, trail performance or sales impact.
- It does not make Ford an endorser of another automaker’s entire lineup: Ford is the film’s speaker, while the script specifically names one Jeep model.
Why the casting matters
Ford brings an established association with screen adventure, while Mangold’s direction favors a restrained, cinematic delivery instead of a conventional feature-by-feature vehicle pitch. The result treats the Wrangler as a symbol inside a short personal essay. Nathaniel Murphy’s original “Go Anywhere” score reinforces that movement-oriented theme without turning the film into a product demonstration.

The takeaway
“Owner’s Manual” sells the idea of Jeep driving as an expression of self-direction. Harrison Ford’s final pun supplies the memorable Super Bowl moment, but the commercial’s central instruction is serious: choose the people, work and experiences that make you happy, then write your own rules for getting there.
