To see your recent top artists, open the Spotify mobile app, tap your profile picture and select Listening Stats. Spotify describes this as a rolling view of the previous four weeks. For a yearly ranking, use Spotify Wrapped when that annual experience is available. As of August 18, 2026, the latest completed campaign is 2025 Wrapped.
Your personal top artists are different from Spotify’s global charts. The steps below show how to find your own rankings, understand why lists can differ and get longer-term data when Spotify’s built-in screens are not enough.
Find your top artists right now with Listening Stats
Spotify introduced Listening Stats in November 2025 as a recurring snapshot of recent listening. Spotify initially announced it for both Free and Premium users in more than 60 markets, but availability can still vary by country, account and app version.

- Open the Spotify mobile app.
- Tap your profile picture.
- Choose Listening Stats.
- Open the top-artists section and review the accompanying songs or listening insights.
- Use Share if Spotify offers a shareable card on your screen.
The feature is designed as a recent, rolling view rather than a permanent lifetime ranking. Spotify’s announcement describes the window as the previous four weeks. The exact cards and labels may change as Spotify tests or updates the interface. If the menu looks different, use the profile menu and search within the app for “Listening Stats.”

Find your yearly top artists with Spotify Wrapped
Wrapped is Spotify’s annual recap. It is normally promoted near the end of the year, so it is not a replacement for Listening Stats between campaigns.
- Open Spotify on your phone.
- Check the top of the Home screen for the Wrapped feed.
- If you do not see it, open Search and enter Wrapped (during the 2025 campaign, Spotify also directed users to search for “2025 Wrapped”).
- Open your personalized Wrapped experience.
- Move through the cards until you reach your top-artist results.
- Save or share the result if those controls are offered.
- Look for the related annual top-artists or Your Top Songs playlist so you can revisit the music after the story expires.
Spotify released 2025 Wrapped on December 3, 2025. No 2026 Wrapped experience had been released as of August 18, 2026. Some stories or playlists can remain accessible after a campaign ends, but Spotify can change their placement and availability.

Why your top artists and top songs may not match
An artist can dominate across many tracks
A top-artist ranking aggregates listening associated with an artist, while a top-song ranking evaluates individual tracks. You can therefore have one artist at number one after playing many of that artist’s songs, even if a different artist has your single most-played track. Spotify explains this distinction in its Wrapped methodology explanation.
Credits and collaborations can affect attribution
Featured appearances, remixes and other artist-credit rules may not be attributed in the way you expect. The artist shown for a track is not always the same as the artist you consider its primary performer.

Private listening and excluded taste data
Spotify says Private Mode and tracks or playlists excluded from your Taste Profile may not shape taste-based Wrapped stories. That qualification applies to personalization features; it does not establish that every Spotify statistic ignores the activity.

Shared accounts change the result
If another person uses your account, their plays are mixed into your history. Use separate profiles rather than treating a shared account as one person’s ranking.
Wrapped may stop before December ends
For 2025 Wrapped, Spotify said its measurement period ran from January through mid-November, before the December launch. Consequently, a Wrapped result should not be described as a guaranteed record of every play made through December 31. Spotify’s explanations are available in its Wrapped production overview.

What counts toward Wrapped?
Spotify’s stated 2025 eligibility requirements were at least 30 songs played for more than 30 seconds and at least five different artists. Meeting that threshold makes an account eligible for the experience; it is not a complete public formula for every ranking or story.
- Eligibility: the minimum activity Spotify specified for 2025 Wrapped.
- Rankings: listening used to order artists and songs, with attribution and methodology rules.
- Personalization stories: features that can be affected by Private Mode or Taste Profile exclusions.
Offline plays can be incorporated after Spotify synchronizes them, but the app does not promise a universal update time. New accounts, low listening volume or incomplete synchronization can produce fewer results.
Get all-time or custom-date top artists
Spotify’s standard app screens do not promise a permanent, detailed lifetime artist table or an arbitrary date-range selector. For deeper analysis:

- Request your Spotify listening-history data through Spotify’s account privacy or data-request process.
- Import the files into a specialist statistics service that supports Spotify history.
- Choose the date range and counting rules, then compare the output with Spotify’s in-app presentation.
stats.fm can analyze imported history; its documentation says importing Spotify streaming history requires stats.fm Plus. Spotify’s API does not provide every detailed artist or track stream count, so imported-history totals can differ from Wrapped or Listening Stats. Last.fm is another option for ongoing tracking. Its scrobbles begin after setup unless you separately import earlier data, and its rankings are based on those scrobbles rather than an official Spotify calculation. Review Last.fm and its Pro benefits before connecting an account.
Troubleshoot missing or incomplete results
- Update the app: install the newest Spotify mobile version available for your device.
- Use mobile: Listening Stats is a mobile-app route; the desktop interface may not show the same menu.
- Open the profile menu: tap your profile picture, not just Search or Library.
- Search the menu: look for “Listening Stats” if its position has changed.
- Restart the session: sign out, sign back in and restart the app.
- Check availability: Spotify initially announced the feature for supported markets, not every account worldwide.
- Try Wrapped later: use the annual experience when it is released, or search for it if the Home banner is absent.
- Check account use: shared listening, Private Mode and Taste Profile exclusions can explain unexpected personalization.
Premium is not required solely to view top artists where Listening Stats is supported; Spotify described the feature for both Free and Premium users. A Premium subscription may add ad-free listening, offline playback and other playback benefits, but it does not guarantee a lifetime artist database. Spotify’s current plans are listed at Spotify Premium.

Can Spotify show exact artist play counts?
Listening Stats and Wrapped can show rankings and selected insights, but Spotify does not describe them as a complete, exportable artist-by-artist lifetime play-count database. Spotify added stream counts for some 2025 Wrapped song results, which does not mean every artist ranking exposes an exact historical total. For detailed historical totals, use a Spotify data export and a compatible analysis tool, while recognizing that counting rules may differ.
Keep the result in perspective
Your “top artist” is a description of recorded listening behavior for a defined window, not a permanent statement of musical preference. Use Listening Stats for the clearest current answer, Wrapped for Spotify’s annual recap and an imported history for custom or lifetime questions.
