In an Oxygen feature published 26 years after the shooting, Mary Jo discussed forgiving Fisher and her relationship with Joey. A&E’s 2025 interview account describes Mary Jo as 70 and quotes her explaining why she wanted to tell her story: “I wanted to get to a new generation of young people who are going through their own stuff—some of it is horrifying; some of it is miserable.”
