For free singing voice cloning in 2026, start with Applio if you want an open-source desktop workflow, Humlo for a quick iPhone track, or DDSP-SVC and RVC WebUI if you can manage local setup. Browser services such as TopMediai AI Song Cover, Uberduck and Vocalize are easier to try, but their free access and usage terms differ.
Singing cloners need a clean vocal performance, pitch and timing that follow the melody, and a way to export or remix the result. For a documentary vocal: record or import a guide performance, train a model from authorized voice data, convert the sung vocal, then export the result for your edit. Applio says conversion and TTS depend on voice models, and its CLI or self-hosting options may suit technical users better. It lacks integrations with other software, so check your exact DAW or editor workflow.

6. DDSP-SVC — Lower-Hardware Open-Source Singing Conversion
DDSP-SVC is an open-source singing voice-conversion project for personal computers. Its project notes say training and synthesis require much less hardware than SO-VITS-SVC, training can be close to RVC speed, and real-time voice changing uses fewer resources than SO-VITS-SVC, though slightly more than the latest RVC.
This suits creators who can install a local Python and audio environment: prepare an authorized singing dataset, train a model, synthesize the converted performance, and place the output in your edit. The project specifically requires legally obtained, authorized training data and lawful use of synthesized audio. Its published compatibility example is Python 3.11 on Windows with CUDA 13.0, Torch 2.9.1 and Torchaudio 2.9.1; confirm your hardware and versions before setup.

RVC WebUI is a free, self-hosted toolkit for voice conversion. It supports real-time and offline conversion, single- and multi-speaker inference, training, model fusion, pitch controls, retrieval and batch processing, with WAV, FLAC, MP3 and M4A export.

Get consent from the person whose voice is cloned and use recordings you are authorized to train on. Each vendor’s terms govern covers, model uploads, commercial use and redistribution, so check them for the specific release. Spotify said vocal impersonation is allowed only when the impersonated artist authorizes it, and it supports DDEX AI disclosures in credits; it also announced AI Persona badges for identities that may be AI-generated. These platform policies make permission and clear credits part of a publishable workflow.
