You can make a Playboi Carti song cover with AI voice conversion only when you have permission to use the voice you are imitating. Without that authorization, use your own voice or another voice whose use you have cleared, and label the result so listeners are not led to believe Carti performed it. Spotify says vocal impersonation is allowed only when the impersonated artist has authorized it; check the terms of every service where you plan to upload the cover.
What You Need To Clear Before You Start
A voice model and a song are separate rights questions. Before conversion or release, confirm you have permission for the voice model and for the song materials you plan to use. That includes checking the terms attached to any instrumental, sample, vocal recording, model, and AI service in your workflow. Make The Cover Step By Step
- Set the permission boundary. If you do not have authorization to imitate Carti’s voice, do not select or train a Carti voice model. Choose your own voice or a voice with documented permission, and plan to identify the result as an AI-assisted cover.
- Prepare cleared source material. Use a recording or instrumental you are allowed to process. If you need separate stems, LALAL.AI lists vocal and instrument separation; confirm that you can download the result on the plan you choose and that your source file fits the applicable upload limit.
- Record a cover performance with the track’s rhythm in mind. Carti’s recordings can make tight timing, short phrases, ad-libs, and layered vocal parts central to the arrangement. Mark the entrances and pauses in your chosen song, then record those parts cleanly as separate takes where possible. These are performance directions, not a claim that a listed tool supplies Carti-specific controls.

Use A Prompt That Does Not Imply Carti’s Endorsement
For a permitted cover using your own authorized voice, a production brief can be specific without directing the model to impersonate Carti: “Cover [song title] with my authorized voice model. Keep the original phrase timing and rests. Put the short ad-libs on separate layers, leave room around the lead vocal, and do not present the voice as Playboi Carti.” This is a creative brief, not a guaranteed tool feature; enter it only where the chosen product accepts instructions, and check that product’s current controls.

- Confirm permission for the voice, song, recording, instrumental, and any samples or models involved.
- Read the selected AI service’s current terms, including its rules for commercial use and uploads.
- Follow the destination platform’s current policies for impersonation, AI disclosure, credits, and distribution.
- Use a clear title, description, and credits that do not imply Carti performed, approved, or released the cover unless you have authorization to say so.
