The startup described in the headline is Me4U, an AI company founded in 2022 that launched with a proposition: fans could pay to message authorized AI versions of creators. The system was trained on creator-approved material and designed to imitate a person’s communication style—not to connect fans with the real person.
That launch-era description, reported on August 29, 2023, is now incomplete. Me4U’s current website presents a broader creator platform offering chat, voice, memory, personalized images, paid fan access and automated social-media content. The company appears to have evolved from a celebrity-conversation service into infrastructure for monetizing a creator’s synthetic likeness and communication style.
What Me4U originally promised
Me4U’s 2023 launch model centered on one-on-one, text-based conversations with AI personas modeled on online creators and celebrities. According to GeekWire’s launch report, the bots would be trained on material approved by participating creators and could answer questions or offer advice in areas such as food, travel, fashion, business and lifestyle.

A generated message was still synthetic, even if it sounded personal.

The initial commercial plan was a reported $14.99 monthly subscription, with celebrities receiving half of total revenue through an engagement-based model. That was a launch proposal in 2023, not a confirmed current price or payout.
Who founded Me4U?
The historical and current accounts do not match exactly. The 2023 launch coverage identified Keith Smith and Andy Sack as the founders. Smith had been associated with Payability, BigDoor, CyberMortgage and Zango; Sack was a Seattle technology executive, investor, former Techstars Seattle leader and co-founder of Founders’ Co-op.
Me4U’s current About page lists Keith Smith and Kait Smith as founders, describing Kait Smith as focused on marketing and operations. The page does not explain the relationship between that presentation and the earlier Andy Sack attribution. The safest description is therefore time-specific: Me4U was launched by Smith and Sack according to 2023 reporting, while its current official page names Smith and Kait Smith.
The same 2023 report said the company had raised $750,000 from angel investors. The retrieved material does not independently establish additional funding, current revenue, user numbers or whether Sack remains involved.

How the product is described today
Me4U’s current creator page advertises an AI agent that can:
- Chat with fans around the clock.
- Flirt and remember previous interactions.
- Speak in the creator’s voice and look like the creator.
- Generate personalized images.
- Write captions, stories, carousels and other social posts.
- Automatically publish content to social accounts.
- Support subscriptions and other paid fan access.
The fan-facing homepage separately promotes text interaction, audio messages in multiple languages, personalized AI content, pay-per-view material and fan-interest data for creators. In other words, Me4U now presents a combination of AI companion, celebrity-access simulation, content-generation tool and subscription business.
Me4U’s marketing page claims more than 5 million AI images generated, 96.8% creator retention, 10 billion social impressions and 300,000 hours saved. Those are first-party figures. No independent verification of the metrics was provided in the available material.
What changed between the launch and the current product?

This is best described as an apparent evolution or repositioning, not a confirmed corporate pivot. The official website remains active and advertises creator onboarding, fan signup and AI-agent services, but website activity alone does not prove financial health or large-scale adoption.

The creator deal matters as much as the chatbot
Me4U’s current creator page advertises 80% subscription revenue for creators and says onboarding is free and can take less than 10 minutes. The creator terms add an important qualification: compensation is calculated from “Net Subscription Revenue” after hosting and other directly attributable operating costs, and the actual percentage is set in a creator-specific acceptance form. “80%” should not automatically be read as 80% of every payment a fan makes.
The terms authorize Me4U to use a creator’s name, likeness, writing, voice, social-media content, images and other submitted material. Creators can specify training sources by date, source and type of material. But the agreement also grants a perpetual, transferable, worldwide, sublicensable, royalty-free license for training and promotion.
The contract says creators may not approve every generated output or promotional item and includes broad waivers and releases concerning generated material. It also provides for exclusivity during the term and, in some circumstances, for 90 days afterward. The agreement automatically renews for additional two-year periods unless notice is given at least 30 days before expiration. Individual acceptance forms may alter compensation or other details, so these published terms are not proof that every creator has identical conditions.

What “human-like” does—and does not—mean
A Me4U clone can imitate patterns found in approved writings, posts, images or recordings. It cannot establish that the represented person personally wrote a particular answer, saw it before publication or endorsed its advice. A remembered chat history is a software feature, not human memory or a genuine interpersonal relationship. A voice or face likeness is not proof of presence.

That distinction is especially important when the product uses flirtation, emotional language or the visual and vocal identity of a recognizable person. The more convincing the simulation becomes, the easier it may be for a fan to confuse a paid commercial service with direct access to the creator.

Disclosure and deception
Every interaction should be clearly labeled as AI-generated. Fans need to know whether a response was produced automatically, reviewed by a human or approved by the represented creator. The launch article’s discussion of other generative-AI chatbots giving unsanctioned advice illustrates a general risk; it does not establish that Me4U produced the same failure.
Parasocial attachment
Memory, a familiar voice, personalized images and flirtation can intensify emotional attachment. Users should not treat a clone as a partner, friend, therapist or direct line to a celebrity.
Sensitive advice and explicit material
Celebrity or expert clones should not replace licensed medical, mental-health, legal or financial professionals, nor emergency services. The 2023 reporting mentioned permission ranges that could include explicit content. Anyone considering the service should verify current age gating, moderation, creator consent and rules for sexual or otherwise sensitive prompts rather than assuming the launch policy remains unchanged.

Likeness and post-termination control
Using a person’s image, voice and writing raises right-of-publicity, copyright, contract and deepfake-disclosure questions. Creators should ask what happens to models, generated media and promotional assets after termination, and how quickly a clone can be suspended. Fans should distinguish authorized profiles from unauthorized impersonators.
Privacy
Chats, voice recordings, uploaded images, payment details and inferred interests may be sensitive. Me4U’s contact page says users can request data deletion and that the company aims to process requests within 30 days under GDPR. That is a company statement, not an independent audit of its retention or deletion practices.
What fans and creators should check
Before subscribing as a fan
- Look for an unmistakable AI disclosure and confirmation that the clone is authorized.
- Check the current price, cancellation, refund and pay-per-view terms before paying.
- Ask what chats, audio, images and memories are retained and whether they can be deleted.
- Find the rules for sexual, abusive, self-harm, medical and financial prompts.
- Check whether generated images and messages may be saved, shared or republished.
Before enrolling as a creator
- Confirm the exact percentage and the definition of net revenue in the acceptance form.
- Identify deductible costs and payment reporting.
- Specify which dates, accounts and media may be used for training.
- Clarify approval rights, advertising use and the ability to suspend the agent immediately.
- Review exclusivity, renewal, post-termination use and deletion provisions.
- Consider legal advice on likeness, publicity, copyright and liability for harmful outputs.
Is Me4U still the same startup?
Me4U’s public story has three clear stages: a 2022 founding; an August 2023 launch narrative built around paid, one-on-one text conversations with authorized creator clones; and a current presentation centered on always-on AI agents, voice, images, automated social publishing and creator subscriptions.

The evidence supports saying that the company is still publicly operating and has broadened its proposition. It does not support confident claims about current annual revenue, active users, creator count, additional funding, the survival of the original $14.99 price or the continued involvement of every launch-era founder.
Bottom line
Me4U is not simply a chatbot pretending to be a celebrity. It is presented as a system for turning a creator’s likeness, voice and communication style into an always-on, monetizable digital business. That can give creators scale and fans a novel form of access, but it also shifts important power to the platform: who controls the training material, who approves outputs, how revenue is calculated, how clearly the simulation is disclosed and what remains online after a contract ends.
The original “human-like conversation” headline captures Me4U’s starting point. The current product goes further—and makes those questions about consent, accountability, privacy and emotional boundaries more consequential.
