If you can’t log in to Disney+, first try signing in at DisneyPlus.com in a browser. If the password fails or you see Error 14, use Having trouble logging in? Send a one-time code and enter the latest six-digit code sent to your account email. On a TV or console, link the device at DisneyPlus.com/begin with the eight-digit code shown on screen. If browser login works but the app does not, troubleshoot the app or device rather than repeatedly changing your password.
Disney+ uses a MyDisney login shared across participating Disney services, so changing that password may affect those services too. Disney’s account guidance explains the shared login and account-recovery options.
Find the likely cause first
Before changing settings, test the same account in a browser and, if possible, on another device. That quick comparison helps separate account problems from device or network problems. Disney’s help center can explain error codes, but the available guidance does not establish whether there is a live outage right now; don’t assume a service-wide outage from one failed login.
| What you see | Start here |
|---|---|
| Password rejected or Error 14 | Use the email one-time-code recovery flow; stop guessing passwords. |
| Six-digit code never arrives | Confirm the account email, check spam and other filtered folders, then use Resend. |
| TV or console won’t sign in | Generate a fresh TV code and enter it at DisneyPlus.com/begin. |
| Browser works, app fails | Restart and update the app/device; clear app data or reinstall only if needed. |
| Works on cellular but not Wi-Fi | Check the router, network filtering, VPN, proxy, or DNS configuration. |
| Login succeeds but no subscription appears | Check the MyDisney email and the original billing provider before subscribing again. |
| Error 93 or an unexpected account-change notice | Treat it as a security issue: reset the password and review account access. |
| Household or location prompt | Follow Disney’s on-screen verification; this does not necessarily mean the password is wrong. |
Fix a forgotten password or Error 14
Disney identifies Error 14 as an incorrect-password problem. Recover the account rather than trying password variations:

- Compact without compromises: The sleek design of Roku Streaming Stick won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.

- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
- Go to DisneyPlus.com and choose Log in.
- Enter the email address associated with the subscription.
- Choose Having trouble logging in? Send a one-time code (the wording may vary slightly by device, country, or app version).
- Open the email from Disney and enter the six-digit code. Continue through any password-reset prompt.
- Follow the password requirements displayed on the reset page. Disney’s example guidance lists 6–25 characters with at least one letter and one number, but the live reset screen is authoritative if requirements change.
A MyDisney password change can apply to other participating Disney services using the same login. Use a unique password, especially if you suspect someone else has accessed the account. See Disney’s account-issues guidance.
If the six-digit email code does not arrive
- Check that you entered the email address tied to the account.
- Look in spam, junk, promotions, and any quarantine folder. Search for messages from Disney rather than relying only on the newest-message view.
- Wait a few minutes, then use Resend when it becomes available.
- Use the newest code. Older codes from earlier requests may no longer be useful.
- Avoid opening several reset flows in different tabs or requesting codes repeatedly; this can make it harder to tell which code is current, and repeated requests may be throttled.
- Try a private/incognito window or a different browser. If no code arrives after these checks, contact Disney support.
Do not share a one-time code with anyone who contacts you. Disney support should not need you to publish or disclose it in a public post.
If you forgot the email address
Search the inboxes you use for “Disney+,” “MyDisney,” billing receipts, and subscription confirmations. Check the email associated with a bundle or with Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, a telecom company, or another billing provider. If you still cannot identify the account email, Disney’s login guidance directs users to support.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsDon’t create a new account or start another subscription as a first step. The original account may still be active under another email, and a second signup can lead to duplicate billing or a separate account with no profiles or viewing history.

Sign in on a TV, streaming device, or console
TV-connected devices use an activation code, which is different from the six-digit email recovery code. The TV displays an eight-digit code to link that device:
- Open Disney+ on the TV, streaming device, or console and choose Log in.
- On a phone or computer, go to DisneyPlus.com/begin.
- Enter the current eight-digit code displayed on that TV.
- Sign in with the correct MyDisney email and password, then select Start Streaming if prompted.
- Wait for the TV app to refresh. If it does not, force-close and reopen the app, then generate a new code and repeat.
If a code is rejected, return to the TV app and generate a fresh one; an old or expired code, a code from another device, or a browser signed into the wrong account can derail activation. Check that both devices have a working internet connection and that the TV app is up to date. Disney documents this activation flow in its login help.
Fix an app login loop or device-specific failure
If the account works in a browser or on another device, focus on the app and device:
- Force-close Disney+ and reopen it. Restart the phone, TV, console, or streaming device.
- Install available Disney+ app updates, then update the device operating system or firmware if an update is available.
- On Android, Google TV, or Fire TV devices, clear the app cache first if that option is available. If the problem persists, clearing app data may help, but it signs you out and removes local app settings.
- Uninstall and reinstall the app if the earlier steps fail, then sign in again.
Before clearing data or reinstalling: downloaded titles and local settings may be lost. Disney says logging out removes downloads from the device, so you may need to download them again after signing in. See Disney’s download guidance.

Fix browser sign-in problems and loops
A stale browser session, cookie setting, or extension can interfere with sign-in. Use these steps as diagnostics; clearing site data is not guaranteed to solve every login problem.
- Open Disney+ in a private or incognito window. If that works, the issue may be stored site data or an extension.
- Temporarily disable extensions that filter ads, scripts, cookies, or privacy-related content.
- Make sure cookies and JavaScript are enabled.
- Clear cookies or site data for DisneyPlus.com, then reopen the official site and sign in again. This will sign you out of that site.
- Update your browser and operating system, or test in another supported browser.
- Do not rely on a saved password until you have confirmed it is the current one.
Check the network, VPN, and location
Compare the same login on home Wi-Fi and cellular data, if available. If it works on one connection but not another, the issue may involve the router, DNS, ISP, proxy, VPN, corporate filtering, or the network’s location detection. Try restarting the router, using a trusted home network instead of public Wi-Fi, and setting the device date and time to update automatically.
Temporarily turn off a VPN, proxy, or Smart DNS service as a diagnostic. These tools can make Disney+ misread your location and may cause location errors; they are not a reliable way to fix access or bypass regional availability or household controls. If you are traveling, follow the verification or household prompts shown by Disney rather than rapidly switching networks or countries.
A household prompt is not automatically proof that the password is incorrect. Disney’s subscriber agreement says that, unless a service tier permits otherwise, subscriptions may not be shared outside the subscriber’s household. If Disney incorrectly identifies your household status, contact support instead of changing account details repeatedly or trying to evade the restriction.

Check whether the subscription is active
Signing in successfully confirms access to an account; it does not guarantee that the account has an active Disney+ subscription. If the service says there is no plan, check that you used the email tied to the subscription, then verify payment and renewal status where the plan is billed.
- For a direct Disney+ subscription, review the account’s subscription and billing information.
- For a bundle, confirm that the Disney+ entitlement is part of the bundle and attached to this MyDisney account.
- If Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, a telecom provider, or another partner bills you, check that provider’s subscription settings or support. The billing partner may control payment and renewal details.
- Check whether a promotion ended or was attached to another account.
Disney’s login help notes that a third-party billing provider may need to handle billing questions. Verify the original billing source before subscribing again.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Secure a locked or possibly compromised account
Distinguish an ordinary password mistake from a security event. Disney says suspicious login activity can result in a MyDisney account lock and an automatic password-reset request. Error 93 is also listed by Disney as suspicious activity. If you receive a password-change notice you did not request, your email or password appears to have changed, or the account remains locked:
Recommended Free Tools
- Reset the MyDisney password through Disney’s official sign-in flow. Use a unique password not used on another site.
- Log out of all devices if that option is available, then sign back in only on devices you trust.
- Review recent account and billing activity.
- Secure the email account connected to Disney+ as well; access to that inbox can enable further account changes.
- Contact Disney support if the email was changed without permission, the reset process loops, or you cannot unlock the account.
Disney’s account guidance recommends resetting the password and logging out of all devices when unauthorized use is suspected. Logging out may remove device downloads.

Disney+ error codes and what to try
Disney’s error-code index gives the following meanings. A code narrows the diagnosis, but the cause may still depend on the app, device, account, or network.
| Code | What it indicates | Best next step |
|---|---|---|
| 14 | Incorrect password | Use the one-time-code password recovery flow; don’t keep guessing. |
| 42 | Internet connection trouble | Test another network, restart the router, and check for VPN or filtering. |
| 73 | Content unavailable in the current location | Check your network location and turn off VPN/proxy temporarily for diagnosis. |
| 83 | General “something went wrong” error | Test another device/network; update or restart the affected app and device. |
| 91/92 | Too many requests; access may be temporarily throttled | Stop repeated attempts and wait before trying again. |
| 93 | Suspicious activity detected | Prioritize password reset and account security over clearing app data. |
| 1026 | App or service initialization problem | Exit and restart the app; update it and, if needed, clear cache or reinstall. |
| 142 | Trouble connecting to the service | Check the connection and try another network or device to isolate the issue. |
When to contact Disney support
Contact Disney if your account is locked, the account email changed without permission, no one-time code arrives after the email checks and resend, the account has no subscription despite confirmed billing, TV activation keeps looping, or the same error persists across multiple devices and networks. Disney’s U.S. help pages state that live support is available 24/7, but contact methods and availability can differ by country; use the local Disney+ help center.
Have the account email, device model and operating system, app version if visible, exact error code and wording, billing provider, approximate time the issue began, and whether login works on another device ready. Never send or post your password, one-time code, full payment details, or security answers. Start from Disney+ Help Center troubleshooting to reach the appropriate support route.
