Crave works in Canada on Crave.ca in supported web browsers, iPhone and iPad, Android phones and tablets, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Google TV devices, Chromecast, Roku, select LG, Samsung and Hisense smart TVs, PlayStation, Xbox One and participating television-provider platforms. Compatibility depends on the exact model, operating-system version, Canadian app-store region and subscription plan. Bell currently excludes Roku, PS4, PS5, AirPlay and select Fibe receivers from its ad-supported plans.

Bell’s current platform description covers iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, select LG and Samsung televisions, PlayStation, Roku and Xbox One. Phones, tablets and computers
iPhone and iPad
The Canadian App Store lists Crave for iPhone running iOS 16 or later and iPad running iPadOS 16 or later. The same listing specifies tvOS 18 or later for Apple TV. An older Apple device may therefore be unable to install the current app even though Apple TV is a supported platform. Check the Canadian App Store listing before relying on a particular device.

Android phones and tablets
Crave supports Android mobile devices. Android phones and tablets use the mobile app; Android TV and Google TV are separate television platforms with different compatibility requirements. The current minimum Android version was not stated in the available official material, so confirm it in the Canadian Google Play listing.

Watching in a browser
You can watch at Crave.ca in a supported modern browser. This is the most useful fallback when a television app is unavailable. To put browser playback on a television:
- Open Crave.ca on a computer and sign in.
- Connect the computer to the TV with HDMI.
- Select the TV as the display and audio output.
- Put the browser into full-screen mode.
Browser playback is less convenient than a native app, and HDMI, HDCP, audio or display settings can cause separate problems.
Streaming sticks and boxes
Apple TV
Apple TV has a native Crave app when the hardware can run tvOS 18 or later. Apple TV support is not the same as AirPlay support: Bell specifically says AirPlay is unavailable on ad-supported plans. See Bell’s current plan restrictions.

Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick
Fire TV is an official Crave platform. Before buying or reusing a stick, confirm the model generation, Fire OS version and access to the Canadian Amazon app store. A device sold for another market may not show the Canadian Crave app.
Android TV and Google TV
Android TV is supported, and Google TV devices may provide Crave through the Android TV ecosystem. Do not equate every television described as “Android” with certified Android TV: generic Android sets without Google Play certification may not have the official app. Search for Crave in the device’s Canadian Play Store. Chromecast with Google TV is an app-based streamer, while a basic Chromecast receiver is primarily controlled from a phone or browser. A 2026 accessibility audit reported that Crave could occasionally fail to open on a Google TV Streamer; that observation is a possible troubleshooting clue, not proof that the platform is officially unsupported.
Chromecast
Crave supports Chromecast. You may cast from the Crave mobile app or Chrome browser to a Chromecast receiver, or use a Chromecast with Google TV as a television app device. Bell’s ad-plan page names AirPlay as excluded but does not establish the same exclusion for every Chromecast method, so do not assume the two policies are identical.
Roku
Crave is available on Roku players and Roku TV in Canada, but Bell currently lists Roku as unavailable on ad-supported plans. Installing the app therefore does not guarantee that an ad-plan account can play video. Check the plan before buying a Roku specifically for Crave. Roku’s Canadian product information confirms that current players connect through HDMI: Roku Canada.

LG
Bell describes support for select LG Smart TVs, not every LG model. Open the Canadian LG Content Store, search for Crave, and check the television’s model year and webOS version. If the app is absent, update the firmware and search again; persistent absence usually means the model or region is not eligible.

Samsung
Crave is available on select Samsung Smart TVs. Tizen version, firmware, market region and available storage can affect the result. A Samsung badge alone is not enough: verify that Crave appears in the Canadian Samsung app store.
Hisense
Bell’s newer announcement lists Hisense TV among Crave platforms. Hisense sells sets running Google TV, Android TV, Roku TV and other systems, so support depends on the operating system and model as well as the manufacturer. Search the television’s Canadian app store for Crave.
PlayStation and Xbox
PlayStation
Bell lists PlayStation among supported platforms, including PS4 and PS5, but both consoles are specifically excluded from ad-supported plans. If the app installs and sign-in works yet playback fails on an ad plan, changing consoles will not fix that plan restriction; use an eligible platform or subscription instead.

Xbox One is explicitly listed as supported. The available official description does not provide a complete generation-by-generation matrix for Xbox Series X|S, so verify the current Crave listing in the Microsoft Store before treating a newer Xbox as guaranteed. Nothing in the cited current sources establishes Xbox 360 support.
TV-provider access is different from direct Crave
Bell and other participating television providers may deliver Crave through their own apps, receivers and authentication systems. Bell’s Fibe TV materials describe access through mobile devices, browsers, Chromecast, Android TV, Fire TV, Apple TV, AirPlay, compatible smart TVs, Roku, Bell Streamer and Google TV, but those requirements apply to the Bell TV/Fibe service and may require an eligible Bell Internet or TV plan. They are not automatically the same as direct Crave.ca support. See Bell’s Fibe TV app information.
Bell says Crave stopped working on Legacy Receivers on August 1, 2025. Customers using those older set-top boxes need a newer provider platform or another supported device. Details are in Bell Support.
Crave through Prime Video Channels
In Canada, Crave can be purchased as a Prime Video Channel. Playback generally starts inside the Prime Video experience rather than automatically activating the same direct Crave account. Amazon handles the channel billing relationship, while cancellation and sign-in follow the Prime Video subscription route. Device support, catalogue presentation and features can differ from a direct Crave subscription, and Prime Video does not remove Crave’s Canadian geographic restriction. The ad-supported plan has device exclusions
Bell’s current plan information identifies these restrictions for Crave ad plans:
- AirPlay is not supported.
- Roku is not supported.
- PS4 and PS5 are not supported.
- Select Fibe TV HD and 4K receivers are not supported.
These exclusions explain a common failure pattern: the app installs, the account signs in, but playback is blocked because the subscription tier is not eligible on that platform. Check Bell’s live plan page before purchasing hardware, because plan policies can change.
How to check a specific device
Smart TV
- Open the TV’s app store.
- Confirm the storefront region is Canada.
- Search for Crave.
- Install or update the app.
- Open it and sign in.
- If it is missing, update the TV firmware and operating system, then search again.
- Check that your subscription tier supports the television platform.
Streaming player
- Confirm the player is a Canadian-market model or can access the Canadian store.
- Search its marketplace for Crave.
- Check plan eligibility before assuming installation means playback is allowed.
- Install the current app and update the player firmware if it will not open.
Game console
- Search the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store for Crave.
- Install the app if listed.
- Check the plan restrictions, especially on PS4 and PS5 ad plans.
If Crave is missing or playback fails
Identify which stage fails, because each points to a different remedy:
- Cannot install: check Canadian region settings, firmware, model age and app-store certification.
- Cannot sign in: verify whether the subscription is direct, provider-based or through Prime Video Channels and use that service’s sign-in flow.
- App opens but video will not play: check plan eligibility, update the app, restart the device and test another supported platform.
Use this recovery order:
- Confirm the device and app store are located in Canada.
- Restart the device.
- Update firmware and the Crave app.
- Search the store again.
- Check whether the device is too old for the current app.
- Confirm plan and platform restrictions.
- Try Crave.ca in a computer browser.
- Connect the computer to the TV through HDMI.
- Use a newer supported streaming player if necessary.
Which option is simplest?
- Use existing hardware first: a supported smart TV, phone, tablet, computer or streamer is usually the least expensive route.
- For an older TV: add a current HDMI streaming device rather than replacing the television, but verify the app and your plan before purchase.
- For an ad plan: avoid relying on Roku, PS4, PS5 or AirPlay, which Bell currently excludes.
- For Apple households: Apple TV provides a native app when it meets the tvOS 18 requirement; do not buy it solely as an AirPlay workaround for an ad plan.
- When compatibility is uncertain: browser playback over HDMI is the most broadly useful fallback.
Crave is a Canadian service; the Canadian App Store listing states that it is available only in Canada. Device support also does not guarantee 4K, HDR, surround sound, downloads or every casting feature. Those capabilities vary by device, title and plan.
