Disney+ Error Code 33: How to Fix the Sign-In Error

Disney+ Error Code 33 generally means the service could not verify the account details entered at sign-in. Check the account email, type the password again, and reset it if you are unsure. If that does not work, test another device or network before clearing app data or reinstalling. The first checks take only a few minutes; account verification or a service issue can take longer.

What Disney+ Error Code 33 means

Error 33 is generally reported as an account-verification or sign-in failure, rather than a playback-quality or device-limit error. The commonly reported message is: “We’re sorry, but we could not verify your account with the information you provided. Please re-enter your account details and try again.” Wording can vary by device.

This description comes from third-party coverage, not a current dedicated Disney+ explanation. Disney’s U.S. Error Codes index currently lists several codes but does not visibly include 33. Treat the code as a useful clue, not a guaranteed diagnosis: platform, app version, region, or account state may affect what appears.

Try the sign-in fixes first

  1. Confirm the account email. Check spelling and punctuation, and use the address associated with the Disney+ account. Autofill may contain an old address, or you may be using an email for a different Disney service. If a third party bills the subscription, billing management may be separate from login recovery. Do not create a new subscription just to test access.
  2. Enter the password manually. Close the app or sign-in page, reopen it, and type the password rather than accepting a possibly outdated autofill entry. Check capitalization, symbols, and accidental spaces.
  3. Reset the password if uncertain. Use Disney+’s password-reset option and complete any email verification or security prompt. Then sign in again. If you recently changed your password or see a security challenge, stop repeatedly submitting the same credentials.
  4. Temporarily turn off a VPN or proxy. Close Disney+ and retry over your ordinary home or mobile connection. VPN or proxy routing can interfere with authentication or location checks; buying a VPN is not a fix for Error 33.

These are the most direct checks for an account-verification error. Reinstalling the app cannot correct a mistyped email or password.

Test another device, browser, or network

Change one thing at a time so the result helps identify the cause. A different device tests the app and operating system; a different network tests the router, ISP, DNS, VPN, or proxy path.

Test If it works What that suggests
Sign in on another device The same account works there The original app or device may have stale data, outdated software, or a compatibility problem.
Use a private browser window Sign-in works privately Cookies, cache, or a browser extension may be interfering.
Switch Wi-Fi to mobile data Sign-in works on mobile data Investigate the home network, DNS, router, ISP, VPN, or proxy.
Check whether other apps work Other services also fail A general connection problem is more likely than a Disney+ credential problem.
Try the account on multiple devices and networks Error 33 follows the account everywhere An account-verification or Disney-side problem becomes more likely.
Reset the password, then try again The new password still fails Credentials may not be the only issue; check verification, session, network, or service conditions.

For a browser-only failure, also try another supported browser, temporarily disable extensions, and ensure cookies and JavaScript are enabled, as Disney’s streaming troubleshooting guidance advises.

Refresh the app or device if the error is isolated

  1. Fully close Disney+ and reopen it. If that does not help, restart the device.
  2. Check for Disney+ app and device software updates. Install updates from the device’s official store or settings.
  3. If the app offers a sign-out control, sign out and sign back in.
  4. Clear the app’s cache, then test again. Clear app data only if needed; it can sign you out and reset local app settings, but it does not delete your Disney account.
  5. If clearing data is unavailable or ineffective, uninstall and reinstall Disney+ from the official app store, then sign in again.

Disney’s current streaming troubleshooting page recommends steps including restarting, updating, clearing cache or data, reinstalling, and checking the connection. The device cache guide gives platform-specific instructions; labels vary by model, operating-system version, language, and location.

Common cache and data paths

  • Android phone or tablet: Settings > Apps > Disney+ > Storage > Clear Cache; if necessary, choose Clear Data.
  • Android TV: Settings > Applications > Disney+ > Clear Cache or Clear Data.
  • Fire TV or Fire TV Stick: Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Disney+ > Clear Cache or Clear Data.
  • Apple TV: Uninstall and reinstall Disney+; Disney’s guidance does not give a conventional cache-clear button.
  • Computer browser: Clear the browser cache and cookies, or first test with a private window.
  • PlayStation: Use saved-data management to delete Disney+-related saved data.
  • Xbox: My Games and Apps > Apps > Disney+ > Menu > Manage App > Clear the Saved data.
  • Xfinity devices: Settings > Privacy > Clear Cookies and Local Storage Data.

Check the connection and possible service problems

Try a different network before restarting the router. If Disney+ and other apps fail on your home connection, power-cycle the network equipment:

  2. Turn off or unplug the modem and router.
  3. Restart the modem and router, and wait for the connection to return.
  4. Restart the streaming device, open Disney+, and try signing in again.

If the error appears across devices and networks, check Disney’s Help Center and support channels before spending more time reinstalling apps. No live outage is established here. Disney’s U.S. troubleshooting page says live support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; confirm the contact method currently offered in your region.

When to contact Disney+ support

Escalate if the password-reset email never arrives, a reset link repeatedly fails or expires, correct credentials work nowhere, verification loops, or Error 33 persists across devices and networks. Contact support as well if a third-party billing arrangement makes account ownership or access unclear. Login recovery and billing recovery are different: subscription management, cancellation, and refunds can depend on who bills you. Disney’s Subscriber Agreement describes terms that may vary by billing arrangement.

Do not confuse Error 33 with other Disney+ codes

Check the number on screen before following advice for a different error. Disney’s current U.S. Error Codes index lists several distinct problems:
