A abertura oficial do Carnaval de Salvador de 2024 aconteceu em 8 de fevereiro, na Praça Castro Alves, com um encontro de trios de Ivete Sangalo, BaianaSystem e Carlinhos Brown e participação do bloco afro Ilê Aiyê. A transmissão anunciada para aquele dia já passou; hoje, é possível procurar registros jornalísticos do evento no Globoplay, sem garantia de que a íntegra esteja disponível.

O que foi a abertura
O evento reuniu os trios de Ivete Sangalo, BaianaSystem e Carlinhos Brown na Praça Castro Alves, no Centro Histórico de Salvador. Integrantes do Ilê Aiyê participaram distribuídos entre os trios, em uma homenagem aos 50 anos do bloco afro. Por isso, o encontro não foi simplesmente uma sequência de shows independentes em um palco convencional.

A programação também previa a entrega simbólica da chave da cidade ao Rei Momo e uma apresentação inicial da Banda Didá no palco Salvador Capital Afro, em frente ao Cine Glauber Rocha. Em seguida, os trios se encontrariam na praça. A cobertura contemporânea estimava que o encontro duraria cerca de 40 minutos; esse era um tempo previsto, não uma confirmação da duração efetiva.

O horário de 16h30 era o início previsto da transmissão televisiva, não uma garantia de que todos os artistas entrariam no ar exatamente naquele momento. A programação presencial começava à tarde, e os horários de cada ato podiam variar com a dinâmica dos trios.
