Yes—you can choose games for an NFL Sunday Ticket multiview in YouTube TV, but you can’t freely combine them with any channel you want. The builder offers eligible live games and supports up to four streams in one layout. YouTube TV’s current help documentation says Sunday Ticket multiviews are limited to NFL-game combinations; the games and controls you see also depend on your subscription, device, and what’s available at the time.
What “custom multiview” means for Sunday Ticket
YouTube TV used to rely more heavily on preselected multiview layouts: groups of two to four live streams prepared for viewers. Its multiview builder lets you select from eligible live content instead. YouTube TV announced a broader customization rollout on April 28, 2026, describing the ability to build layouts across a base plan and add-ons (YouTube TV’s announcement).
For Sunday Ticket, “custom” means choosing among the games the builder makes available—not choosing any four channels or guaranteeing every possible game combination. YouTube TV’s multiview help page says Sunday Ticket games, including RedZone when purchased with Sunday Ticket, can be combined with other NFL games, not arbitrary non-NFL YouTube TV channels. The builder’s available options remain the practical limit.

On a smart TV or streaming device
- Open the YouTube TV app and start an eligible live game.
- Press Down on the remote and choose Multiview or Watch in multiview. Depending on the screen, you may also find a multiview option in a recommendations row or NFL/Sunday Ticket area.
- Choose from the games shown in the builder and add streams until you have the layout you want, up to four live streams.
On an Android phone, iPhone, or iPad
- Open the YouTube TV app and start an eligible live game.
- Tap the multiview control in the player.
- Choose Add to multiview or the available game options, then add eligible streams up to the four-stream limit.
Labels and controls can vary slightly by device and app version. YouTube TV says Sunday Ticket multiview choices generally appear on Sundays about 30 minutes before kickoff; that is a typical timing, not a guarantee for every game or device. See the Sunday Ticket multiview FAQ.

On a computer: YouTube TV multiview is not available in the web-browser experience. AirPlay is also unsupported for this feature. Use the app on a supported TV, streaming player, Android device, iPhone, or iPad instead. YouTube and YouTube TV are not identical here: their feature controls and builder availability differ by platform. Check YouTube’s Sunday Ticket feature comparison if you watch through YouTube rather than YouTube TV.
What can go in the layout?
- Multiple Sunday Ticket games: Eligible games can be added when they appear in the builder.
- Local NFL games: These may be available when carried by YouTube TV and permitted in the builder; local-game access depends on location and the relevant channel or plan.
- NFL RedZone: RedZone requires the applicable entitlement. Sunday Ticket alone should not be assumed to include it. Where included in a Sunday Ticket multiview, YouTube TV’s help says it can be combined with other NFL games.
- Non-NFL channels: Current YouTube TV guidance says Sunday Ticket multiview is limited to NFL-game combinations, so adding ESPN, news, or entertainment channels is not necessarily possible—even if you subscribe to those channels.
- DVR and on-demand video: The builder is for eligible live streams; don’t expect to add a recording or condensed replay as one of the live panes.
A subscription to a channel or add-on does not automatically make every piece of its content eligible for multiview. The builder determines what can be added. See YouTube TV’s multiview restrictions and instructions and its NFL viewing guide.

Audio and full-screen controls
Only one pane plays audio at a time. On a TV or streaming device, use the remote’s directional pad to highlight the game you want to hear; on a phone or tablet, tap that pane. An audio indicator or selection border identifies the active view.

Subscriptions: what you need depends on the game
NFL Sunday Ticket is the entitlement for out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. A YouTube TV base plan covers the live-TV channels it carries, including local NFL broadcasts where available; it is not the same thing as Sunday Ticket. RedZone is a separate entitlement for this purpose, so check the details of your plan rather than assuming it is bundled.
You can watch Sunday Ticket through YouTube or YouTube TV, but the feature experience differs by platform. The official feature comparison lists availability by device and service. You do not need 4K Plus simply to get more panes in a Sunday Ticket multiview: YouTube TV documents a four-stream multiview limit, and its home-stream rules separately identify Sunday Ticket’s in-home streaming allowance. An add-on does not remove the multiview combination restrictions.

Prices and promotions can vary by season, purchase route, and eligibility. Check the current terms at YouTube TV’s NFL Sunday Ticket page before subscribing. Sunday Ticket is most relevant if you want out-of-market Sunday afternoon games; it is not a substitute for local-game rights or a guarantee of every NFL broadcast. A broader YouTube TV plan makes more sense if you also want its live-TV channels and local programming.
Supported devices and performance
YouTube TV lists supported smart TVs, streaming media players, Android devices, iPhones, and iPads, though specific model exceptions can apply. Some older devices—particularly certain models released before roughly 2018—may offer fewer customization options or lower picture quality. Keep the app updated, and check YouTube TV’s current multiview device guidance for your device rather than assuming every model has the same builder.

YouTube TV recommends at least 7 Mbps download speed for the live NFL experience. That is its recommendation, not a guarantee that a connection will smoothly carry four high-quality streams; performance also depends on the device and network. Its NFL viewing guidance has more on watching games.
Why a game or the builder may be missing
If you can’t find a game or the option to build a layout, work through these checks:
- Check the device and platform. A web browser and AirPlay are not supported for YouTube TV multiview. Try the YouTube TV app on a supported TV, streaming device, or mobile device.
- Confirm the game is eligible. Sunday Ticket covers out-of-market Sunday afternoon games, not every NFL game. Local availability and other game rights can depend on your location and plan.
- Check timing. Options generally appear about 30 minutes before kickoff, but may not populate at exactly the same time on every device.
- Verify subscriptions and account. Make sure the account signed in is the one associated with the purchase and that you have the needed Sunday Ticket or RedZone entitlement. If you see a “Get NFL Sunday Ticket” prompt despite having it, YouTube TV advises checking the signed-in account; see its NFL troubleshooting guidance.
- Update the app and start from live content. Try opening an eligible live game or a Home-page multiview recommendation such as Top Picks for You or Watch in multiview. A DVR recording or on-demand page is not the starting point for a live multiview.
- Allow for combination limits. The builder may not offer the particular mix you want, even when you can watch each program separately.
Unlimited Sunday Ticket streams at home refer to watching on multiple devices under YouTube TV’s home-network rules; they do not mean unlimited panes in one multiview. YouTube TV says Sunday Ticket subscribers have no in-home limit on concurrent Sunday Ticket streams, subject to those rules, and its cited guidance allows up to two separate streams outside the home. Student plans have stricter limits. These are separate from multiview’s four-pane cap. See YouTube TV’s home-network streaming rules.
Is multiview a reason to get Sunday Ticket?
It can be a meaningful benefit if you already want several out-of-market Sunday afternoon games at once and watch on a supported app or device. The builder gives you more choice than fixed layouts, while the four-stream ceiling and NFL-specific mix rules define what it can do.
Before subscribing, distinguish the viewing problem you are trying to solve: Sunday Ticket for out-of-market Sunday afternoon games; YouTube TV’s base plan for its live-TV channels and local broadcasts where available; and RedZone if you specifically want that scoring-focused channel and have the required entitlement. If your goal is a four-way layout mixing NFL with unrelated channels, current Sunday Ticket multiview guidance does not promise that.
