Google’s Taylor Swift Search puzzle launched on September 19, 2023, as a promotion for 1989 (Taylor’s Version). It was a limited-time Easter egg, so there is no confirmed evidence that the interactive vault is still available in September 2026. You can try the original steps below, but if the blue vault does not appear, the promotion may simply have ended.
What were Google’s Taylor Swift puzzles?
Google added a blue vault to Search results for the query Taylor Swift. Selecting it opened short word puzzles tied to Taylor Swift songs and trivia, using the “vault” concept associated with 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Google announced the experience on September 19, 2023, and said the event included 89 puzzles—a reference to the album title. Google’s announcement described the vault and puzzle format.
The promotion was designed around a worldwide collective goal, not simply an individual quiz: Google said fans were working toward 33 million solved puzzles. The stated event-wide reward was the reveal of the vault track titles.

- Open Google Search on a current desktop or mobile browser, or in the Google app.
- Search for Taylor Swift.
- Look for a blue vault in the results. If it appears, select it.
- Read the puzzle’s hint, work out the answer, enter it in the Search field, and submit.
Those were the original steps, as described by 9to5Google’s launch-day walkthrough and Google’s announcement. Search layouts can vary, and the available sources do not confirm that the vault remains live now. Seeing ordinary Taylor Swift search results does not mean the interactive puzzle is active.

How the puzzles worked
In the original experience, a hint pointed toward a song, album, or piece of Taylor Swift trivia. Players interpreted groups of letters and shapes; colors separated the words in the answer. After inferring a title or phrase, they entered it and submitted it. These visual details come from contemporaneous reporting rather than Google’s brief official description, so they should be understood as a historical account of the interface, not a guarantee of how a current page behaves.
Google’s figure of 89 refers to the puzzles associated with the promotion. It does not establish that every person had to complete all 89. Individual solves contributed to the overall target of 33 million. Google said reaching that collective goal would unlock the vault track titles; that is distinct from promising a separate reward for each player or each answer.
If the blue vault does not appear
First, make sure the search query is exactly Taylor Swift. You can try Google Search in another current browser or in the Google app, and a private or incognito window may help rule out a browser extension or cached page issue. If you use unusually restrictive content- or script-blocking settings, temporarily disabling them for a test may also help.

If the vault still does not show, the most likely explanation is that the limited-time feature is no longer available.
