The short version: Pluto TV has reportedly added a group of A24 films to its free, ad-supported catalog, not launched a permanent A24 premium channel. The August 2026 additions reportedly include 14 A24 titles among 245 new movies, with Lady Bird, Problemista, Janet Planet, Green Room, and Marcel the Shell with Shoes On among the highlights.
That distinction matters: these films may be available on demand, while Pluto’s branded movie channels—such as MovieSphere by Lionsgate and Paramount Movie Channel—are separate linear services.

What actually became free?
The “premium movie channel” wording is misleading. Current coverage points to selected A24 movies being added to Pluto TV’s U.S. catalog, rather than an A24-branded channel or an A24 subscription tier. Tom’s Guide reported 245 August 2026 movie additions, including 14 films associated with A24. The complete 14-title list is not established by the available evidence, so treat that number as a reported lineup figure and check Pluto’s catalog for the title you want.

Five films to look for first
These are editorial starting points, not an objective ranking. Availability can change by date and market.
- Lady Bird (2017): A warm, sharply observed coming-of-age drama for viewers who want an accessible A24 favorite.
- Problemista (2023): A surreal, offbeat comedy with a contemporary independent-film sensibility.
- Janet Planet (2024): A quiet, emotionally intense drama best suited to viewers who prefer patient character stories.
- Green Room (2016): A brutal, high-pressure thriller for horror and suspense fans; its violent subject matter is not for every viewer.
- Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (2022): A gentle, whimsical choice for family viewing, subject to Pluto’s current rating and availability information.
How to watch the movies on Pluto TV
Use the on-demand library
- Open Pluto TV on the web, a mobile device, smart TV, or supported streaming platform.
- Choose On Demand, or open Search.
- Enter the exact movie title.
- Open the result and confirm that Pluto TV currently offers it.
- Start playback. Commercial breaks are part of the free service.
Pluto’s interface varies by device, but its web service separates Live TV, On Demand, and Search.

Browse the live guide
If you want scheduled viewing instead, open the Live TV guide and browse the Movies category. Pluto’s official movie directory lists destinations including MovieSphere by Lionsgate, Paramount Movie Channel, Pluto TV Spotlight, Pluto TV Staff Picks, Pluto TV Drama, and Pluto TV Cult Films. These are linear channels: the schedule determines what is playing, and a film may not be starting when you tune in.
The directory confirms those channels exist, but it does not show that every A24 title from the reported August addition airs on one of them. For a specific film, on-demand search is the more reliable route.

What “free” means here
Pluto TV describes its service as free live television and free on-demand movies. There is no monthly subscription charge for the free catalog, but the service is ad-supported, so expect commercial interruptions rather than ad-free playback.
The current report says an account is required to watch the featured movies. Pluto’s sign-in and playback flow can change, so create or use an account if prompted. “Free” should therefore be read as “no paid subscription for the programming,” not necessarily “no registration.”

Availability, edits, and expiration
This is best treated as a U.S.-focused availability report. Pluto’s catalog and channel lineup vary by country, licensing territory, device, and date. A movie found in a search result or an older article may have left the service by the time you try to play it.

The reported August additions do not establish a permanent license term or removal date. Check each title directly on Pluto TV when you read this article and again when you are ready to watch. Do not assume the films are “free forever.”
The available sources also do not confirm whether every title uses an uncut theatrical version or a platform-specific edit. If a film’s exact cut matters to you, check its Pluto listing and content information rather than assuming the presentation is identical to a cinema or paid digital rental.
Why you may not find an “A24 channel”
Searching Pluto TV for “A24 channel” may produce no result because the evidence supports a collection of individual films, not a dedicated A24 destination. You may instead see the movies in search, in the on-demand movie library, or promoted in a temporary collection. Do not confuse that collection with MovieSphere by Lionsgate or Paramount Movie Channel; those are separate Pluto-branded linear channels.

- Confirm that your Pluto TV region is the United States if that is where the lineup was reported.
- Try the current Pluto app or website instead of relying on a search-engine result.
- If it is unavailable, check legal free services such as The Roku Channel, Tubi, or Plex—but verify the specific title on that service before assuming it is included.
The practical verdict
Pluto TV is a useful place to look for selected A24 films without adding another monthly bill, provided you accept advertising, possible account registration, and a catalog that can change. Start with Lady Bird for coming-of-age drama, Problemista for surreal comedy, Janet Planet for a quiet drama, Green Room for intense thrills, or Marcel the Shell with Shoes On for something gentler. Just do not mistake a rotating free-movie collection for a new, permanent A24 premium channel.
