To turn on subtitles on Globoplay, start the video and open its playback settings—often marked CC, a speech bubble, a gear, three dots, or Áudio e legenda. Choose a subtitle track listed for that title. Globoplay can show tracks provided with a program, but you generally cannot add your own subtitle file if none is offered.
Turn on subtitles: the general method
- Open Globoplay and start the movie, episode, or other video.
- Tap or click the video, or press a button on your remote, to reveal the playback controls.
- Open the subtitle or language control. Depending on your device and app version, it may be labeled CC, Legenda, Subtitles, Áudio e legenda, or appear under a gear or three-dot menu.
- Under subtitles, choose a language or caption track that is actually listed.
- Resume playback and check that the text appears.
The menu’s icon and position can vary. If you do not see the same controls shown in an older guide or screenshot, look for the audio-and-subtitle label instead.
On a phone or tablet
Play the title and tap the screen to show the controls. Tap the gear, CC, or audio/subtitle button, then open Legenda or Subtitles and select an available track. A gear icon has been described in older mobile instructions, but the current control may look different depending on the app version and device.

Open the video on Globoplay’s website and move your pointer over the player. Choose the subtitle or audio/language control; it may be a gear, CC icon, or menu. Older instructions describe a three-dot menu near the lower-right of the player, but its location and label may have changed.

On a Smart TV or streaming device
Start the program, then press Select/OK, pause, or a directional button on the remote to reveal the player controls. Open the gear, CC, or Áudio e legenda menu and select an available subtitle track. Globoplay is accessed through native platforms on supported TVs, including Samsung Tizen and LG webOS, but the exact subtitle controls depend on the app and device.
Roku: Some customer-service instructions for Roku describe pressing the remote’s asterisk (*) button and opening Legendas ocultas or Acessibilidade e idioma. Treat this as a device-specific fallback, not a universal Globoplay path; menus can vary by Roku model and software.

What “Português – CC” means
Globo identifies Português – CC as its closed-caption track for accessibility. Closed captions may include relevant sounds as well as dialogue, unlike ordinary translated subtitles, which primarily render speech in another language. If you need Portuguese captions, select this option when it appears. Globo also labels audiodescription separately with AD; audiodescription is a spoken description for viewers with visual impairments, not a subtitle track. Globo’s accessibility guidance notes that some newly released original programs may not yet have closed captions.

Open the same player menu and select another option under Legenda or Subtitles, if one is available. Do not confuse this with Áudio, which changes the spoken track rather than the on-screen text. A menu may offer Portuguese captions without offering English subtitles; the available choices are title-specific.

To disable subtitles, choose an option such as Desabilitado, Desligado, Off, or None. The wording varies by interface. If captions remain, check whether they are embedded in the video or controlled by your TV or streaming device’s accessibility settings. Device settings cannot reliably create a caption track that Globoplay does not supply.
No subtitle option? Try this
- Test another title. If it has subtitles, the first program may simply lack a subtitle track.
- Look for “Português – CC.” Accessibility captions may be listed separately from ordinary subtitles.
- Restart playback. Close and reopen the video, then reveal the controls again.
- Try another supported device. This can help distinguish a title’s track availability from an app or interface issue.
- Update the app and restart the device if the menu seems missing across multiple titles.
- Contact Globoplay support if you expect captions for a title but the option is missing or does not work. The Globoplay help center is the official starting point.
Subtitle availability can differ by title, and the player’s options are not necessarily the same across on-demand programs and live broadcasts. Check the specific program’s player rather than assuming every live channel or catalog item has captions. If only Portuguese is listed and you need English, there is no documented consumer feature for attaching your own track to the stream.

Can you upload an SRT file?
The available Globoplay guidance does not document a feature for viewers to upload an SRT file or attach custom subtitles to a program. If the desired language is not in the player menu, Globoplay may not provide that track for the title. Avoid treating browser add-ons or external caption tools as official solutions; they may not work with protected streams and can produce inaccurate text.
