Yes—compatible LG Smart TVs can play Apple Music tracks mixed in Dolby Atmos through the built-in Apple Music app. LG announced the integration on May 2, 2024 for compatible 2018-and-newer models running webOS 4.0 or later, along with selected StanbyME and MyView devices. The three-month Apple Music promotion was real at launch, but its availability in 2026 is not guaranteed: open the app on your TV and verify the offer, eligibility and renewal terms before accepting.
What LG actually launched
LG’s announcement introduced native Apple Music playback with the service’s Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos catalog. It did not make every Apple Music song an Atmos mix, and it did not promise cinema-style surround from every television’s built-in speakers. Apple labels compatible songs and albums with a Dolby Atmos badge; titles without that mix play in their available format.

In this television context, “Spatial Audio” means Dolby Atmos music rendered by the TV’s speakers or by an attached soundbar, AV receiver or other supported endpoint. It is not automatically the personalized, head-tracked AirPods experience. Apple explains the distinction and hardware requirements in its Dolby Atmos support guide.
LG described the feature as available beginning the week of May 2, 2024. Treat that as the launch date, not a new August or September 2026 announcement.

Is LG’s three-month trial still available in 2026?
LG advertised three months of Apple Music free inside the TV app for eligible LG Smart TV users worldwide. The announcement supplied no permanent end date, so the only reliable 2026 test is the redemption screen on your own television. Regional rules, account history and the promotion’s status can change.
- Open Apple Music on the LG TV and sign in or create an Apple Account.
- Look for the LG-specific three-month offer inside the app.
- Read the renewal price, eligibility language and billing date before confirming.
- If only a standard Apple Music plan or another trial appears, the LG offer may have expired, been redeemed previously, or be unavailable in your country.
Apple’s U.S. page currently shows separate promotional pricing—three months for $1.99 for an Individual plan and $4.99 for a Family plan, followed by listed monthly prices of $11.99 and $19.99—but those figures are not proof that the historical LG offer remains active and may differ by country or date. Check Apple’s current subscription page and the in-app terms. Do not confuse this offer with LG’s separate Apple TV+ promotion.
Which LG devices qualify?
LG’s launch criteria were compatible LG Smart TVs from 2018 onward running webOS 4.0 or later. The announcement highlighted OLED and QNED families and also named LG StanbyME, StanbyME Go and MyView Smart Monitor models.

“2018 and later” is not a guarantee that every model delivers identical Atmos playback. Apple says smart-TV app availability and features vary by country, region, device and software version; if Apple Music is absent from your TV’s app store, the model or region may not be supported. Install Apple Music and sign in
Labels differ between webOS generations, but the practical route is:
- Press Home on the LG remote.
- Open LG Content Store or the Apps area.
- Search for Apple Music, then install or launch it.
- Sign in with the on-screen QR-code flow or enter your Apple Account manually.
- Open a song or album carrying the Dolby Atmos badge.
LG also says Apple Music can be reached through voice command or the Music Quick Card on the Home Screen. Update the TV before troubleshooting, using the update option provided for that exact model.
What you need to hear Dolby Atmos
Built-in TV speakers
A compatible LG TV may process Atmos through its own speakers, but the result depends on speaker layout, room acoustics, processing and listening position. It should not be treated as equivalent to a dedicated surround system.
Atmos soundbar or AV receiver
A Dolby Atmos soundbar or receiver is the more dependable route to audible surround and height effects. LG’s launch-era examples included the S95TR, S90TY, S90TR, S77TY, S75TY, S70TR, S70TY, SG10TY, SC9S, SE6S, S77S, S95QR, S90QY, S80QR, S80QY and S75Q. This is a historical compatibility list, not a complete 2026 catalog; check current models and firmware at LG’s soundbar category.

Apple TV 4K and headphones
An Apple TV 4K can run Apple Music when the LG app is unavailable or when you want Apple ecosystem features. Apple says it can deliver Dolby Atmos through a compatible television, soundbar, AV receiver, HomePod speakers or compatible Apple and Beats Bluetooth headphones. The box does not remove the need for Atmos-capable playback hardware.

- Use a track that displays the Dolby Atmos badge.
- Set the TV’s sound output to the intended endpoint: internal speakers, HDMI ARC/eARC, optical, Bluetooth or a connected soundbar/receiver.
- Confirm the soundbar or receiver supports Dolby Atmos.
- Where available, inspect the soundbar or receiver information display. It should report Dolby Atmos rather than PCM, stereo or standard Dolby Digital.
- For external equipment, check that the TV is passing audio in the format the device accepts and that ARC/eARC and passthrough settings match the hardware.
Troubleshooting
The Apple Music app is missing
Install the latest TV firmware, verify the LG account’s country and search the regional app store again. Apple notes that some apps and features are unavailable in particular countries or on particular devices. If the app still does not appear, use Apple Music on another supported endpoint or add an Apple TV 4K.
The LG trial does not appear
- Check that you launched Apple Music on the LG TV rather than signing up elsewhere.
- Confirm you are using the intended Apple Account.
- Consider whether that account has used Apple Music before.
- Check regional eligibility and the app’s current version.
- Assume the 2024 promotion may have ended unless the offer is visibly presented with terms.
Playback is stereo or PCM
- Choose a Dolby Atmos-badged recording.
- Verify that the exact TV and connected audio device support Atmos.
- Review the TV’s digital sound output, passthrough and ARC/eARC settings; LG menu names vary by webOS version.
- Update the soundbar or receiver firmware.
- Ensure the soundbar is receiving the TV’s Apple Music audio, not a separate source or a forced stereo mode.
Native LG app or Apple TV 4K?

Start with the native app if it is available and your existing audio chain supports Atmos. Buy a soundbar for a better room-filling result, not merely to obtain a trial. Choose Apple TV 4K when app support, headphone integration or a replaceable streaming platform matters more than avoiding another box.

Bottom line for LG owners
The LG–Apple Music integration is genuine and dates to May 2024. Compatible 2018-and-newer LG TVs running webOS 4.0 or later can access Apple Music’s selected Dolby Atmos catalog, but the audible result depends on the exact TV, track, firmware, connection and speakers. The advertised three-month LG trial should be treated as an in-app eligibility question in 2026—not as an automatic benefit of buying or owning an LG TV.
