If you cannot find the latest Friday Night SmackDown in Hulu’s on-demand library, there is no verified sign of a new, one-off Hulu upload outage—or confirmation that Hulu is working to add the episode. The likelier explanation is that regular Hulu no longer carries new weekly U.S. episodes under its former next-day arrangement. Hulu + Live TV is different: eligible subscribers may be able to watch or record the USA Network broadcast.
Which episode is missing?
As of Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the latest scheduled broadcast would ordinarily be the Friday, August 14 episode. A third-party episode schedule lists that date, but it is not an official WWE confirmation; WWE’s SmackDown hub is the better place to check current show information, results and videos.
“The latest episode” can mean several different things: the live USA Network broadcast, a replay or on-demand listing, a Hulu + Live TV DVR recording, or the edited next-day episode that some Hulu viewers remember. Those are not interchangeable, and the right explanation depends on which one you expected to see.

Why a new episode may not appear in regular Hulu
In September 2024, as SmackDown moved to USA Network, Hulu’s former arrangement for new weekly episodes ended. A report at the time quoted Hulu Support saying the rights to offer new episodes had expired. That is historical context, not evidence of a new August 2026 outage; it does explain why repeatedly refreshing the standard Hulu catalog may not help. The 2024 report on the rights change describes that transition.

Hulu’s published August 2026 WWE listings include library and documentary programming, but do not list new weekly SmackDown episodes. A guide’s omissions cannot establish every viewer’s regional catalog, but the listings do not support an expectation of a routine next-day Hulu upload. Hulu’s guide is useful for checking its currently promoted titles.
That distinction matters: regular Hulu is an on-demand service; Hulu + Live TV is a separate live-channel plan. Having one does not automatically mean you have the other, and a live channel or DVR recording is not the same as a separate on-demand episode.

Where to watch SmackDown legally
- USA Network live: WWE currently lists SmackDown on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on USA Network in the U.S. Check WWE’s official show page and the USA Network series page for current listings. A participating TV provider may be required for network streaming or replays.
- Hulu + Live TV: If USA Network is included in your local lineup, the live-TV plan may let you watch the broadcast and, if properly scheduled, record it. This does not mean the episode will also appear in the regular Hulu on-demand library. Check Hulu’s Live TV information and your local channel lineup before subscribing; this option may not make sense if you want only one weekly program.
- Peacock: WWE promotes Peacock for on-demand WWE viewing on its official show hub. However, the 2024 USA Network rights explanation described a 30-day wait for new episodes on Peacock. That is historical information, not a verified guarantee for the August 2026 episode. Check the episode listing and current availability in Peacock before relying on it for immediate viewing. Peacock’s WWE page lists its WWE offering.
- Official highlights: WWE posts results, clips and video through its SmackDown hub. These can help you catch key moments, but they are not necessarily the complete broadcast.
Other live-TV providers may carry USA Network in some locations, but channels, packages and regional availability vary. Check the provider’s current lineup before paying. Do not assume that a service carrying the channel also provides a separate next-day on-demand copy.
If you have Hulu + Live TV but cannot find the broadcast or recording
These checks apply to live TV and recordings—not to making a new episode appear in the standard Hulu on-demand catalog.

- Confirm your plan and local channel lineup. Verify that your subscription includes Hulu + Live TV and that USA Network is available at your location.
- Search beyond the on-demand results. Look under Live, the USA Network channel page and your DVR or My Stuff recordings. Search for USA Network as well as SmackDown, and check for a replay listing.
- Check whether a recording was scheduled. If the episode is absent from the DVR, confirm that it was set to record and that the local channel feed carried the program. A missing recording is a different problem from a missing on-demand episode.
- Try basic app checks. Force-close and reopen Hulu, sign out and back in, and install available app and device updates. If possible, check the same account on another supported device or the web player.
- Ask Hulu Support about a specific live-TV or DVR problem. Use Hulu’s official support channels, rather than treating an unverified social post as an outage notice. Hulu Support lists contact options on its support profile.
Is Hulu “working on the issue”?
No current first-party Hulu announcement in the available information confirms that the August 14 episode is delayed or that Hulu is working to upload it. A support response can be real but dated, and a past rights change should not be recast as a current technical incident. Unless Hulu publishes a current notice about a specific live-TV, DVR or app fault, there is no verified resolution time to give—and no basis to promise that the episode will later be added to regular Hulu.

- Want the broadcast live? Look for USA Network through a TV provider or a live-TV service that carries it in your area.
- Already have Hulu + Live TV? Check the USA Network feed and DVR before troubleshooting the on-demand library.
- Can wait for on-demand access? Check Peacock’s current episode listing and availability; do not assume the 2024 delay is still the exact 2026 window.
- Only want highlights? WWE’s official show page offers results and clips, though not necessarily the full episode.
For viewers with standard Hulu only, the missing weekly episode is more likely a rights and distribution issue than an upload stuck in a queue. For Hulu + Live TV subscribers, first investigate USA Network access and the DVR recording. In either case, the absence alone does not show that Hulu is fixing a delayed on-demand upload.
