Aylo, empresa matriz de Pornhub, pidió en agosto de 2026 a autoridades de Florida y de otros estados que reconsideren o deroguen las leyes de verificación de edad. No anunció un nuevo bloqueo ni una fecha para volver: Pornhub lleva sin ofrecer acceso directo desde Florida desde el 1 de enero de 2025, cuando entró en vigor la ley estatal HB 3.
Qué significa la nueva advertencia
La carta de Aylo fue una campaña nacional de presión política, no una demanda nueva contra Florida ni un anuncio operativo de que Pornhub vaya a cerrar el acceso otra vez. Según Axios, la empresa escribió a más de 300 gobernadores, fiscales generales y legisladores estatales, entre ellos el gobernador Ron DeSantis y el fiscal general James Uthmeier. Solicitó que se revisen las leyes que exigen comprobar la edad de quienes visitan sitios pornográficos.
Aylo argumenta que estas normas pueden poner en riesgo información personal sensible, no proteger eficazmente a los menores y desplazar a algunos usuarios hacia sitios con controles y moderación más débiles. Son argumentos de la empresa, no conclusiones demostradas para todos los sitios o sistemas de verificación. La cobertura consultada no registra una respuesta de DeSantis o Uthmeier ni una decisión de Florida de cambiar la ley.
Por qué Pornhub bloqueó Florida
Florida promulgó HB 3 en 2024 y la disposición pertinente entró en vigor el 1 de enero de 2025. La ley exige que ciertos sitios que publican material considerado perjudicial para menores verifiquen que sus visitantes tengan al menos 18 años. El análisis legislativo del Senado de Florida describe el requisito para entidades comerciales que publican o distribuyen ese tipo de material por internet.

Aylo decidió retirar el acceso a Pornhub desde Florida, en lugar de implementar un sistema que cumpliera la norma. La compañía dijo que apoya en principio la protección de menores, pero objeta los riesgos de recopilar o manejar datos sensibles, la falta de un sistema uniforme y la posibilidad de que las personas abandonen sitios que sí aplican controles. En diciembre de 2024, el aviso de Pornhub a usuarios de Florida criticó que se les pidiera una identificación para entrar; esa formulación era el mensaje de protesta de la empresa, no una descripción completa de todas las opciones contempladas por la ley.
La norma exige verificación de edad, pero no debe resumirse como una obligación universal de subir directamente una licencia de conducir a Pornhub o al gobierno. Pueden intervenir servicios de terceros y el marco legal incluye medidas sobre la información usada en la verificación. El método concreto depende de la implementación elegida. El contexto legal cambió, pero Florida no quedó resuelta
El 27 de junio de 2025, la Corte Suprema de Estados Unidos falló 6-3 en Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton que Texas podía exigir medidas razonables de verificación de edad para acceder a sitios pornográficos. La mayoría concluyó que el requisito texano superaba el estándar constitucional que aplicó. La opinión está disponible en el sitio de la Corte Suprema; el Servicio de Investigación del Congreso resume la decisión y sus implicaciones.

¿Puede volver Pornhub a Florida?
Es posible, pero no hay un regreso confirmado ni una fecha anunciada. El bloqueo podría terminar si cambia la ley, si Aylo decide adoptar un método que considere aceptable o si un nuevo proceso legal altera la situación. Por ahora, la carta muestra que la empresa busca un cambio político; no demuestra que haya aceptado la verificación exigida ni que Florida haya suspendido o derogado HB 3.
En este contexto, “derribar el Banhammer” solo puede entenderse como una metáfora: la empresa puede bloquear técnicamente el acceso a su propio servicio en una zona, o mantener el bloqueo. No tiene autoridad para imponer una prohibición estatal. La restricción vigente corresponde a Pornhub, no a todo el contenido pornográfico disponible en Florida.

Qué tener en cuenta sobre VPN y ubicación
Una VPN puede hacer que una conexión parezca proceder de otro lugar, pero no garantiza acceso ni anonimato. Los sitios pueden usar otras señales de red o del dispositivo, y el uso de una VPN puede producir errores de ubicación. Además, el proveedor de VPN puede recoger datos, según sus prácticas. La Electronic Frontier Foundation advierte que las VPN no son una solución segura o universal a las leyes de verificación de edad. Un visitante temporal también podría verse afectado si la ubicación de su conexión se identifica como Florida.

Los indicios concretos que conviene observar son una respuesta pública de las autoridades de Florida, una modificación o suspensión de HB 3, una nueva impugnación judicial, o un anuncio de Aylo sobre cómo pretende cumplir la ley. Hasta que ocurra algo de eso, la situación documentada es sencilla: Pornhub sigue bloqueado para el acceso directo desde Florida y la empresa está pidiendo que se revisen las normas, no anunciando una reapertura.
