The seven recommendations included two movies and five television titles across Netflix, Prime Video, Paramount+, Disney+, Hulu, and Peacock. Although the original headline mentioned Max, none of the featured selections was on Max. Availability was primarily U.S.-focused and differed by territory.

The distinction matters: “new” covered first-time series launches, returning seasons, an animated debut, and films newly entering a streaming window. It did not mean that all seven titles premiered for the first time that weekend.

1. Reacher season 3 — Prime Video
Status: New season, rather than a new show.
Alan Ritchson returns as Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, who goes undercover inside a criminal organization to rescue an informant. The season’s central physical challenge is an unusually large opponent, described in the source material as a seven-foot adversary.
This is the straightforward action choice: a good fit for viewers who want a propulsive thriller, hand-to-hand combat, and a familiar hero rather than a slow-burn mystery. Knowledge of the first two seasons helps with the continuing character relationships, but the basic mission can be understood by newcomers. The source also noted that the show had already received an early season-four renewal at the time.

2. Zero Day — Netflix

Robert De Niro plays a former U.S. president recruited to investigate a devastating cyberattack that disrupts technology systems and causes deaths and widespread chaos. The “zero day” term refers in cybersecurity to a software vulnerability unknown to, or not yet patched by, the affected vendor; here it functions primarily as the hook for a political crisis thriller, not as a technical lesson.
Choose this if you prefer conspiracies, institutional pressure, and a star-led investigation over sustained action spectacle. Early reaction was mixed, so the strongest reason to watch is its political premise and cast rather than any claim of universal critical consensus.

3. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 — Paramount+
Status: Movie newly entering a streaming window, not a brand-new theatrical release.
Ben Schwartz voices Sonic, Keanu Reeves voices Shadow, and Jim Carrey returns in this family action-adventure sequel. It was listed as streaming on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada during the relevant weekend, but not on the service in the United Kingdom or Australia at that time.
This is the clearest family-movie pick in the group. Younger viewers do not need detailed knowledge of the games or earlier films, although returning characters and franchise history will mean more to established fans. The original article cited an 85% Rotten Tomatoes score at publication; scores change, so that historical figure should not be treated as a current rating.

4. Win or Lose — Disney+
Status: New eight-part animated series.
Pixar’s Win or Lose follows the Pickles, a middle-school softball team preparing for a decisive championship game. Episodes shift among the perspectives of players, parents, and the coach, using different visual approaches to express each character’s emotional experience.

That makes it a strong choice for families who want thoughtful, character-focused animation rather than another franchise battle. 5. 1923 season 2 — Paramount+
Status: Returning season and the concluding chapter of this story, according to the historical source.
Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren return as Jacob and Cara Dutton in the Yellowstone prequel. The season continues the family’s effort to protect its Montana ranch amid personal, economic, and historical pressures.
This is the pick for viewers who want a large-scale Western family saga, but it is not an ideal starting point. The broader franchise runs through 1883, 1923, and Yellowstone; watching 1883 and the first season of 1923 will make the characters and generational stakes much easier to follow.

6. A Thousand Blows — Hulu or Disney+
Status: New historical crime series with regional service differences.
Created by Steven Knight, known for Peaky Blinders, the drama is set in Victorian London. It follows Hezekiah Moscow as he enters the city’s bare-knuckle boxing and criminal underworld, including the Forty Elephants, an all-female criminal organization.
It is the natural choice for viewers seeking a period gangster drama with boxing, social danger, and a Peaky Blinders-adjacent pedigree. That comparison describes its creative positioning, not a guarantee that it shares the earlier show’s precise pace, style, or audience rating. The historical people, groups, and events are dramatized rather than presented as documentary fact.
In the United States, the source listed it on Hulu. In the United Kingdom and Australia, it listed the series on Disney+. Check your local catalog before subscribing.

7. Nosferatu — Peacock
Status: Movie newly available to stream in the U.S. during the relevant weekend.
Robert Eggers’ adaptation of the classic vampire story is the roundup’s adult counterpoint to Sonic the Hedgehog 3: atmospheric gothic horror rather than family adventure. The source described the Peacock release as including an extended cut, but version labels can change and should be confirmed on the current listing.
Choose it for oppressive atmosphere, disturbing imagery, and a deliberately serious take on vampire folklore. It is not light horror and may be unsuitable for children or viewers sensitive to graphic material.

No single service covered all seven recommendations. Paramount+ had two of them in the U.S. list, while the rest were split across Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and Peacock. Because this was a February 2025 guide, do not assume that the same titles, versions, or subscription requirements remain available in 2026.
