YouTube TV added five channels on April 6, 2022: The Weather Channel, G4TV, Comedy.TV, JusticeCentral.TV, and Recipe.TV. They were reported as part of the service’s base package at the time. When did the channels launch?
The five channels were reported as going live together on April 6, 2022. Earlier that year, YouTube TV had indicated that The Weather Channel would arrive sometime in 2022 but had not initially given viewers a specific date.

Did subscribers pay extra?

Those figures describe the 2022 launch and should not be used as current pricing. YouTube’s official February 2026 plan announcement lists the main YouTube TV plan at $82.99 per month with more than 100 networks. Promotional prices, taxes, plan eligibility, and renewal terms can differ.
Why The Weather Channel was significant
The addition addressed a noticeable gap for viewers moving from traditional cable. There is a meaningful difference between a dedicated national weather network and the weather coverage available through local broadcast stations, mobile apps, free streaming clips, or general news channels.
A live weather channel can be useful for viewers who want continuous forecasts, national coverage, analysis, and weather-related programming in one linear feed. It is not, however, a substitute for official emergency alerts or instructions from local authorities during severe weather.

What is current in 2026?
The 2022 report confirms that the five channels were added at that time; it does not establish that all five remain available today. Channel carriage can change after licensing agreements, and availability may vary by plan or location.
The status of G4TV deserves particular caution because the G4 brand underwent major changes after the launch period. It should not be described as an active YouTube TV channel in 2026 without checking the current lineup. Comedy.TV, JusticeCentral.TV, Recipe.TV, and The Weather Channel should likewise be verified individually.

- The desired channel appears in your ZIP-code-specific lineup.
- It is included in the exact plan you intend to purchase.

- Your television or streaming device supports YouTube TV.
