The reported Pluto TV addition covered the first four films directed by Michael Bay in the live-action franchise:

The contemporary report described the titles as part of Pluto TV’s December 2025 lineup and said they were leaving Netflix on December 25. That made Pluto TV a timely no-subscription alternative, rather than evidence that the service had acquired permanent control of the franchise. The reported lineup and Netflix departure were part of the same licensing story.

What “free” means here
Pluto TV is a free, ad-supported streaming television service. Viewers generally do not need a paid subscription, but they should expect commercial breaks. The catalog is also subject to licensing agreements, so a movie can disappear, return, or be offered only in particular territories.
That distinction matters for this headline. “New free streaming home” referred to the December 2025 Pluto TV placement; it did not mean the films became permanent, downloadable, ad-free titles.
Are all four still available?
Do not assume that the December 2025 announcement remains a complete present-day lineup. Streaming catalogs change frequently, and availability is often country-specific.

As of the research check on August 18, 2026, official Tubi pages showed several relevant Bay films in its catalog ecosystem: its Transformers guide included the 2007 film, and its recently added page listed Transformers: Dark of the Moon. But Tubi’s individual Transformers title page displayed “content unavailable.” That apparent contradiction illustrates why search results, editorial guides, and recommendation carousels should not be treated as guarantees that a film will play.
Tubi says its service is free and does not require a credit card, with access links for devices and platforms including iOS, Android, Roku, and Amazon Fire. Those access options do not guarantee that every listed movie is currently playable in every location.
Practical rule: search for each film directly in the service’s current app or website immediately before starting it. Availability may differ between the United States and other countries.
Why the fifth Michael Bay movie was missing
The Pluto TV report concerned four films, not Bay’s complete Transformers filmography. Michael Bay also directed Transformers: The Last Knight (2017), but it was not part of the reported four-film Pluto TV offering. Its streaming availability has changed separately, so it should not be included in the same free lineup without a current catalog check. So “the first four Transformers movies” is imprecise shorthand. The accurate description is the first four Michael Bay-directed live-action films.
Best viewing order
For a first watch, use release order:
- Transformers (2007)
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
- Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)
- Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)
- Transformers: The Last Knight (2017), if you find it on a separate service
The first three films center on Sam Witwicky and form the clearest continuous stretch of the original Bay-directed run. Age of Extinction changes the principal human cast, shifting the story toward inventor Cade Yeager and the Dinobots. It feels partly like a reset, but it remains the fourth Bay-directed film in the same broad live-action continuity.
The series’ mythology and continuity become increasingly complicated, so “one continuous storyline” should not be read as a perfectly consistent timeline. The release order is still the least confusing way to experience the films.

This was an access story, not a new-film announcement. Bay’s movies were major theatrical franchise releases built around large-scale robot battles, military action, visual effects, and broad blockbuster spectacle. They also received mixed-to-negative critical reactions, making their continued popularity a separate question from their reviews.
Pluto TV’s December placement mattered because it gave viewers a free, ad-supported option around the reported Netflix departure. It did not establish Pluto TV as the permanent or exclusive home of the movies, and it did not place every live-action or animated Transformers title on one service.
Which service should you try?
Want to spend nothing? Check Pluto TV first because it was the service tied to the December 2025 announcement, then check Tubi and other free, ad-supported services. Confirm each title’s playability rather than relying on an old article or search result.
Want a broader paid catalog? Paramount+ may be a natural service to check for Paramount-related franchise content, but do not assume a subscription includes all five Bay films without verifying the current catalog in your territory.
