In June 2023, reports described model, dietitian and author Maye Musk as a global ambassador for OPPO’s Find X6 Pro smartphone campaign. The reported partnership was supported by circulating campaign images and video, but contemporaneous coverage did not consistently point to a formal OPPO announcement. It is a historical campaign story—not evidence that Musk is OPPO’s current ambassador in 2026.
What was reported about the partnership?
Technology and lifestyle outlets reported around June 26–29, 2023, that OPPO had selected Maye Musk as a global ambassador and campaign face for the Find X6 Pro. Reports said she would appear in advertising and promotional events. The precise contract value, duration and terms were not disclosed in the cited coverage.
The evidence should be read in context. Contemporaneous reporting by the South China Morning Post described photographs and video from the shoot as having surfaced, while noting that OPPO had not officially released the commercial or photographs at that point. Other coverage characterized the collaboration as confirmed, but the available material does not establish a formal OPPO newsroom announcement specifically naming Musk. The most accurate description is therefore that the partnership was widely reported, with campaign material circulating.
“Global ambassador” referred to the reported campaign role. It does not mean the phone was sold worldwide, and it should not be used as a present-tense title for Musk: the available coverage does not establish that she remains an OPPO ambassador today.

What did the reported campaign show?
Accounts of the circulating video described Musk holding a toy airplane and reflecting on her childhood and her family’s adventurous spirit. She reportedly connected her three children’s perseverance with her own, and the campaign’s closing idea invoked travel or going “to space and beyond”—an evident thematic nod to the public image associated with her son, Elon Musk.
Those are details attributed to reports describing leaked or circulating material, not a claim that OPPO officially published the video. Nor do they establish that Maye Musk personally vouched for the phone’s camera performance or other technical qualities.

Why Maye Musk was a distinctive choice
Maye Musk was not known only through her family. She had a modeling career spanning decades and was also publicly identified as a dietitian, author and speaker. Her continued work in fashion gave the campaign an age-inclusive profile different from the young-influencer image common in smartphone advertising.
Her connection to Elon Musk brought a separate source of recognition and likely helped the story travel across technology and celebrity media. That is a plausible marketing interpretation, not a confirmed statement of OPPO’s internal reasoning. The campaign’s reported themes of resilience, family and adventure also gave it a narrative beyond a straightforward product demonstration.

The Find X6 Pro behind the campaign
OPPO unveiled the Find X6 series in China on March 21, 2023, and scheduled mainland-China sales of the Find X6 Pro for March 24. OPPO presented it as an imaging-focused flagship. Its rear camera system included three 50-megapixel cameras: a main camera with a one-inch sensor and optical image stabilization, an ultra-wide camera, and a periscope telephoto camera offering approximately 3× optical zoom. OPPO also promoted Hasselblad-related portrait and color features.
Other headline specifications included a 6.82-inch display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform, IP68 water and dust resistance, and rear-camera video recording up to 4K at 60 frames per second. The battery was listed as 5,000mAh typical capacity and 4,880mAh rated capacity in OPPO’s China specifications; these are different capacity measures, not conflicting claims. Charging was rated at 100W wired SUPERVOOC and 50W wireless. OPPO said its wired system could reach 50% in 10 minutes and a full charge in 28 minutes under its stated test conditions.

In April 2023, DXOMARK awarded the Find X6 Pro a camera score of 153 and placed it at the top of its then-current smartphone-camera ranking. That was a result under DXOMARK’s Camera v5 protocol. DXOMARK cautions that v5 scores are not directly comparable with scores produced under its later Camera v6 methodology, and rankings have since changed. “The world’s best camera smartphone” is therefore, at most, a time- and test-specific description—not a timeless fact.

DXOMARK’s test praised aspects of its low-light, portrait, detail and zoom performance, but also recorded trade-offs. It noted occasional oversaturated skin tones, exposure instability, and flare or contrast problems in difficult backlit portraits. The cameras’ shallow depth of field could also leave some people in group photos out of focus, and the screen could be hard to see in bright sunlight. The score is a benchmark result, not proof that every user or competing test would rank the phone the same way.
China launch, historical prices and international availability
OPPO’s launch material specified mainland-China availability and original prices of RMB 5,999 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, RMB 6,499 for 16GB/256GB, and RMB 6,999 for 16GB/512GB. These are March 2023 launch prices, not current resale prices or U.S. retail prices.
The sources cited here establish China-market availability, not an official U.S. launch. A campaign described as global does not establish that the phone was routinely sold in every market. Anyone considering an import should independently check cellular-band compatibility, Google-service support, software language and updates, warranty coverage, duties, returns and the seller’s condition disclosures. Current stock and pricing are not established here.
What remains uncertain
The cited reporting does not establish the deal’s value or duration, whether the circulating video was later officially released, or whether Maye Musk still has any OPPO role. It also does not turn the Find X6 Pro’s 2023 benchmark position into a current ranking. The firmest account is narrower: in June 2023, multiple outlets reported her appointment to an OPPO Find X6 Pro campaign, while the phone itself was a China-launched imaging flagship whose camera received a top DXOMARK Camera v5 result that spring.
