September 2024’s most notable Disney streaming picks ranged from Marvel’s Agatha All Along to family-friendly LEGO specials, a new preschool musical and a live return for Dancing with the Stars. This retrospective covers the original U.S. release window and flags international and Hulu-related availability where it matters.
September 2024 was a particularly varied month for Disney’s streaming lineup, with a new Marvel series, two LEGO events, a preschool musical, a returning live competition show, an international fantasy drama and a Hulu reality hit available to eligible Disney+ bundle subscribers.
This is a retrospective guide to the U.S. September 2024 release window—not a current 2026 release calendar. Disney’s original schedule described U.S. programming, and Disney+ libraries have always varied by country. “Coming to Disney+” below refers to that September 2024 window, with international and Hulu-related exceptions clearly labeled.
1. Agatha All Along
Premiere: September 18, 2024, with two episodes at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET; later episodes followed weekly.

The month’s marquee Disney+ launch was Marvel Television’s Agatha All Along, a dark fantasy series built around Agatha Harkness, the witch played by Kathryn Hahn in WandaVision. After escaping a distorted spell, Agatha teams up with a goth teenager and assembles a coven to attempt the legendary Witches’ Road.
The road is a magical trial that promises surviving witches what they need—but only if they make it through. That gives the series a clear episodic engine while connecting it directly to one of Disney+’s most recognizable Marvel stories.
Why watch: This is the strongest choice for Marvel viewers and the most natural Halloween-season recommendation in the September lineup. It is also the month’s clearest new franchise event, although its place on this list is based on its premise, timing and connection to WandaVision, not on an unsupported quality judgment.
2. LEGO Pixar: BrickToons
Premiere: September 4, 2024; all five shorts released together.
LEGO Pixar: BrickToons combines two major family brands in a collection of animated LEGO-style shorts. The stories visit Pixar settings and characters including Miguel in the Land of the Dead from Coco, Merida and her brothers, Nemo, Marlin and Dory, the Parr family from The Incredibles, and Mater and Lightning McQueen from Cars.
Unlike a conventional serialized show, BrickToons is best understood as a batch of short animated adventures. Releasing all five at once makes it particularly easy to sample or watch in a single family session.
Why watch: It is a low-commitment option for children and parents who want familiar Pixar characters without starting a long series. Families can also browse LEGO Disney-Pixar sets as an adjacent offline activity, but no particular set should be treated as a recreation of a BrickToons episode without separate verification.

3. LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy
Premiere: September 13, 2024; all four parts released at once.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is a four-part animated special rather than a standard ongoing series. The story begins when Sig Greebling discovers a powerful artifact in a hidden Jedi temple. The discovery radically mixes up the Star Wars galaxy, putting familiar heroes and villains into unexpected roles.
The format makes this an accessible event for viewers who want Star Wars without committing to another multi-season storyline. Its comedic LEGO approach also makes it a natural bridge between watching the special and playing with or collecting LEGO Star Wars models.
Companion products: LEGO’s 2024 materials identified LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy sets including Jedi Bob’s Starfighter (75388) and The Dark Falcon (75389). The latter was specifically described as inspired by the Disney+ special. These sets are optional merchandise, not prerequisites for enjoying the show. Collectors may also be interested in the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary, a 25th-anniversary edition with an exclusive minifigure; check live stock and seller details before purchasing because retail availability changes.
4. Kindergarten: The Musical
Premiere: September 4, 2024; season one launched with 10 episodes.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteKindergarten: The Musical was one of Disney’s clearly identified brand-new series premieres for September. As the title suggests, it is aimed at younger children and uses musical storytelling to explore the experiences of starting kindergarten.
This is the deliberately preschool-focused entry on the list. It should not be approached as a general-audience drama or as a replacement for the Marvel and Star Wars choices above; its value is that it gives younger viewers their own new Disney series while offering parents a family-oriented option designed for that age group.

Why watch: Choose it for a preschool household looking for a new, music-led series rather than a franchise action show or adult reality program.
5. Dancing with the Stars, season 33
Premiere: September 17, 2024, live at 8/7c alongside the local ABC broadcast; new episodes continued weekly.
Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars brought celebrities together with trained ballroom dancers for themed routines judged by Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough served as co-hosts.
This is a returning season, not a brand-new series, but it was one of the most recognizable launches on the September Disney+ schedule. Its live, weekly structure also made it different from the usual on-demand Disney+ premiere: viewers could follow performances and results as part of a continuing television event.
Why watch: It is the best September choice for viewers who prefer competition, celebrity performances and a communal weekly viewing rhythm. If you are searching for “new shows,” remember that this recommendation means a notable new-season premiere.
6. Ayla & the Mirrors
Premiere: September 27, 2024; Disney+ international original.
Ayla & the Mirrors follows Ayla, a wealthy girl who loses her father and her memories before arriving at the El Bosque shelter. There, she joins a dance group called The Mirrors and discovers that she can hear people’s feelings through musical visions.

The series adds music, dance and fantasy to the September selection while broadening it beyond U.S. English-language franchise programming. It was an international Disney+ original, so its availability should not be assumed to match the U.S. schedule or every other country’s Disney+ library.
Why watch: It is a good fit for younger viewers interested in dance and fantasy, and for families looking for something outside the familiar Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar brands.
7. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
Premiere: September 6, 2024, as a Hulu reality series.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives centers on Mormon mom influencers whose community is destabilized by a public swinging scandal. The fallout puts their friendships, faith and public reputations under pressure.
This was a major September launch in the Disney streaming ecosystem, but it should not be described as a standalone Disney+ original. In the United States, selected Hulu programming could be available through Disney+ for eligible subscribers with the appropriate subscription arrangement, while additional Hulu content remained in the Hulu app. Access and catalog placement depended on the subscriber’s plan and location.
Why watch: It is the pick for adult viewers who want interpersonal reality television, influencer culture and a high-conflict ensemble rather than scripted fantasy or family animation.

These seven picks prioritize launch significance, recognizable franchises, audience variety and usefulness as a “best new shows” guide. They are not a complete monthly calendar. The broader September lineup also included Primos, season two of L-Pop, new episodes of Disney Jr.’s Ariel, Are You Sure?! and additional Hulu or international titles.

English Teacher should be treated separately in any expanded guide: it was an FX series available through Hulu, not a straightforward U.S. Disney+ premiere. Likewise, After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun was reported as an international Disney+ release, while other titles belonged to Hulu, Star or region-specific catalogs.

Availability note
Release dates and catalogs in this article refer to the September 2024 schedule, primarily as presented for the United States. Disney+ availability varies by country, and Hulu access through Disney+ depends on the applicable U.S. subscription or bundle arrangement. International originals may launch differently by territory, and a title that appeared in a Disney streaming roundup was not necessarily a standalone Disney+ original.
