Deezer launched My Deezer Year 2025 on December 1, 2025, as its Spotify Wrapped-style annual listening recap. It uses a romantic-comedy storyline, personalized statistics, a top-songs playlist, and musical-match quizzes to turn a listener’s year into a shareable social experience. A January 7, 2026 update added the complete January 1–December 31, 2025 listening period.
Deezer launched My Deezer Year 2025 on December 1, 2025, giving subscribers a personalized, shareable summary of their listening year. Like Spotify Wrapped, it turns listening history into a visual story about favorite artists, songs, albums, genres, discoveries, and time spent listening. Deezer’s version adds a romantic-comedy plot, a musical-compatibility quiz, and a deliberate effort to involve people who do not use Deezer.
The first release did not yet include the entire calendar year. On January 7, 2026, Deezer updated the experience with listening data from January 1 through December 31, 2025. That makes the January update a full-year expansion of the 2025 recap, not a separate 2026 edition. Deezer explains the launch and update in its official announcement and follow-up report.
What is My Deezer Year 2025?
My Deezer Year is Deezer’s annual personalized listening retrospective. The 2025 experience was available through the Deezer app on iOS and Android and presented the user’s results as an interactive, shareable story rather than as a plain statistics page. It also generated a personal playlist containing the user’s top songs from the year.

The product is best understood as Deezer’s answer to Spotify Wrapped, although “Spotify Wrapped clone” is a comparative description used by coverage—not Deezer’s official product name. Both services use a listener’s own data to produce a highly visual annual recap intended to be shared on social media. Deezer’s distinctive contribution in 2025 was the narrative and quiz format.
A romantic comedy built around your listening history
For 2025, Deezer cast each listener as the lead character in a fictional musical love story, with Deezer acting as narrator. The story was divided into several episodes:
- Previously On: An introductory recap that sets up the listener’s year.
- The Meet Cute: A look at artists and songs the listener discovered or began listening to during the year.
- The Love Triangle: The listener’s top three artists, with a choice among them and additional personalized insights.
- Happily Ever After: A conclusion built around favorite tracks and the listener’s personalized year-end playlist.
- Roll the Credits: A final recap channel with additional editorial and statistical material.
This approach changes the emphasis from “here are your numbers” to “here is the story those numbers tell.” It also gives users more shareable moments than a single ranking screen, while retaining the familiar core ingredients of an annual streaming recap.
What statistics does it show?
Individual results vary, but My Deezer Year covers the main categories readers would expect: listening time, total songs, favorite artists, favorite albums, leading genres, new discoveries, and top tracks. Deezer reported the following global averages for the relevant listening year:

Deezer also said that almost 12% of its subscribers qualified as superfans of at least one artist. These are company-reported global figures, not an independent measurement of the entire music-streaming market, and they should not be mistaken for the results of every Deezer listener.

Who topped Deezer’s 2025 rankings?
In the global results published by Deezer, Lady Gaga was the top artist, hip-hop was the top genre, and DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS was the top album. The top track was “APT.” by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars.
Those rankings are not universal. Deezer presented global, French, and Brazilian results separately on its My Deezer Year 2025 rankings page. A ranking labeled global should therefore not be presented as the top result in every country or market.
The quiz turns the recap into a social product
One of the most significant additions was a musical-match quiz. A Deezer user could send the quiz to friends and family, including people who were not Deezer subscribers. Those participants answered questions based on the creator’s listening statistics and appeared on a leaderboard showing how closely their answers matched the creator’s musical profile.

That change expanded the experience beyond Deezer’s existing audience. TechCrunch interpreted it as a likely way to encourage app downloads and reach potential new users; that acquisition motive is an analysis of the feature, not a publicly stated Deezer claim. The product mechanics are also described in the Deezer Community product update.
Deezer later reported that quiz participation rose 157% year over year—nearly three times the previous year’s level. The company said 80% of participation came from non-Deezer users, whose engagement increased by more than 200% year over year. Participation among Deezer users increased 37%. These figures describe Deezer’s own reported activity and do not establish how many participants became subscribers.

Why Deezer is more than simply copying Wrapped
The “clone” comparison is understandable: both products package annual listening data as a colorful, social-media-friendly event. But the more important development is how Deezer treated the recap as an ongoing social product.
The 2025 experience combined four functions:
- Personal analytics: It summarized a listener’s habits and discoveries.
- Entertainment: The rom-com framing turned statistics into a playful narrative.
- Sharing: Users could distribute stories, playlists, and quizzes.
- Audience expansion: Non-subscribers could participate and, in the 2025 version, create quizzes.
It also illustrates how Deezer has changed the presentation from year to year. TechCrunch described the 2024 edition as an interactive “roast” or “hype” experience based on a user’s preferences. The underlying idea—an annual summary of listening behavior—remained stable, while the editorial treatment shifted from playful criticism and praise in 2024 to a romantic-comedy storyline in 2025.
What changed with the January 2026 update?
The December 1 launch arrived before the calendar year had ended, so its initial results could not represent all of 2025. On January 7, 2026, Deezer expanded My Deezer Year 2025 to include the complete period from January 1 through December 31, 2025.
The update made the retrospective more complete while preserving the broader story, sharing, and quiz strategy. In practical terms, the later version is the appropriate reference point for anyone discussing a full-year account of 2025 listening. It also shows that Deezer treated the recap as a continuing engagement campaign rather than a one-day launch.

At launch, My Deezer Year 2025 was presented inside the Deezer app for iOS and Android. Users looking for the experience should use the app’s My Deezer Year entry point or Deezer’s official My Deezer Year page. Availability and the exact app interface can change after the campaign period, so the presence of a particular card or shortcut should not be treated as permanent.

The recap is tied to a user’s Deezer listening history. Someone who does not subscribe can still take part in quizzes shared by others, and the 2025 update allowed non-users to create quizzes, but that does not mean a non-subscriber receives the same personalized listening-history recap as a Deezer listener.

The bottom line
My Deezer Year 2025 is Deezer’s annual answer to Spotify Wrapped, but its most interesting feature is not the list of top songs. Deezer wrapped familiar listening statistics in a romantic-comedy story, added musical-match quizzes that could involve non-users, and extended the experience after launch to cover the entire 2025 calendar year.
The result is less a static year-end report than a piece of social product design: personal enough to feel tailored, playful enough to share, and open enough to reach beyond Deezer’s subscriber base. Deezer’s participation figures suggest that strategy generated substantial interest, although the available evidence does not show how many quiz participants ultimately subscribed.
