SNL50: The Anniversary Special premiered on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. It was a three-hour live primetime event from Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center, celebrating 50 years of Saturday Night Live. The broadcast is over—it is not an upcoming 2026 special—but Peacock’s official listing currently identifies it as Saturday Night Live, Season 50, Episode 13, with a listed runtime of 152 minutes. Availability can vary by location and account access.
Where to watch SNL50: The Anniversary Special now
The most direct official option is to watch on Peacock. Search Peacock for the exact title, SNL50: The Anniversary Special, rather than relying on an old live-event page or a search result that describes the program as upcoming. Peacock’s listing places the special in Saturday Night Live Season 50 as Episode 13 and gives it a 152-minute runtime with a TV-14 rating.
Peacock’s catalog and access rules can change. Its availability information says U.S. customers must be physically located in the United States to stream, and the service may not be available in every territory. Do not assume that a Peacock page visible in one country will provide playback in another, or that every account will have identical access.

NBC’s general help guidance says that episodes and programs are often made available through NBC.com and the NBC App after broadcast. However, access requirements can differ by program, platform, and device; some NBC content may require a participating TV provider or an NBCUniversal Profile. That general policy does not establish that this particular anniversary special remains freely or universally available through NBC in August 2026. If you cannot play it through NBC’s website or app, Peacock is the more specific official catalog route identified for the title.
The special should not be described as free. The available official information confirms NBC and Peacock distribution, but it does not establish a current free-access tier for this program.

How long is the anniversary special?
NBC and Peacock promoted SNL50: The Anniversary Special as a three-hour live primetime special. Peacock’s current episode listing gives the program a more precise runtime of 152 minutes, or 2 hours and 32 minutes. Scheduling language can include commercial breaks and network transitions, so the two descriptions are not necessarily contradictory.
What was included in the SNL 50 anniversary weekend?
The main anniversary special was only one part of the broader celebration. These related programs should not be confused with the February 16 event:
SNL50: The Homecoming Concert
SNL50: The Homecoming Concert streamed live on Peacock from Radio City Music Hall on February 14, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET. Peacock’s current listing describes it as a three-hour 2025 concert special and says it is available on Peacock. It is a separate music event, not an extended cut of the anniversary special.
SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night
This four-part Peacock documentary series explores different parts of the show’s history and production, including the audition process, the writers’ room, the making of “More Cowbell,” and Season 11. Peacock’s series page lists one season. It is a documentary companion to the anniversary programming rather than part of the live special itself.

The first-episode rebroadcast
NBC also announced a February 15, 2025, rebroadcast of the original October 11, 1975 premiere episode. George Carlin hosted that episode, with Billy Preston and Janis Ian as musical guests. It was a separate anniversary-weekend broadcast—not a segment of SNL50: The Anniversary Special.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to do if you cannot find it
- Search the exact title. Enter SNL50: The Anniversary Special in Peacock’s search rather than searching only for “SNL 50.” The title may appear under Saturday Night Live, Season 50, Episode 13.
- Check your location. Peacock’s availability rules can restrict streaming outside the United States or in territories where the service is unavailable.
- Check account and provider requirements. NBC’s post-broadcast access can vary by show and may require a TV provider or NBCUniversal Profile.
- Distinguish the programs. The Homecoming Concert, Beyond Saturday Night, and the music documentary have separate listings. Finding one does not necessarily mean the main special is included in the same page or entitlement.
- Do not rely on the old premiere schedule. February 16, 2025, is the historical broadcast date. A page that says the special “premieres tonight” is outdated.
Can you watch it outside the United States?
Not necessarily. Peacock’s availability information identifies geographic limits, including a requirement that U.S. customers be physically located in the United States to stream. International rights and catalog availability can differ, so viewers outside the U.S. should check the services officially available in their country rather than assuming the U.S. Peacock listing will play.
Is there a DVD or Blu-ray?
The researched exact-title listings establish a digital listing but do not establish a currently available, officially licensed DVD or Blu-ray edition with stable purchase details. Because the program is primarily a broadcast and streaming special, a physical copy should not be treated as the standard way to watch it. Be cautious with marketplace listings that use the title without clearly identifying an official release.
