When did the PEOPLE and EW red-carpet show air?
| Program | Eastern time | Pacific time |
|---|---|---|
| PEOPLE/EW Red Carpet Live pre-show | 6:00–8:00 p.m. ET | 3:00–5:00 p.m. PT |
| 77th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony | From 8:00 p.m. ET | From 5:00 p.m. PT |
The pre-show ended when the awards ceremony began. Because the ceremony took place in Los Angeles, viewers in other time zones should convert from the Eastern or Pacific schedule rather than assuming the event started at the same local clock time everywhere.
Who hosted the PEOPLE/EW Emmys pre-show?
The four announced hosts and contributors were:
- Janine Rubenstein, PEOPLE editor-at-large
- Patrick Gomez, Entertainment Weekly editor-in-chief
- Gerrad Hall, Entertainment Weekly editorial director
- Bronwyn Newport, fashion historian and The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City personality
These were the hosts of the PEOPLE/EW online red-carpet program, not the hosts of the CBS awards telecast. Nate Bargatze hosted the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony itself.
What could viewers watch before the awards?
The PEOPLE/EW stream concentrated on celebrity arrivals at the Peacock Theater, interviews with nominees and other television stars, fashion discussion, and commentary leading into the ceremony. It was designed as a pre-show rather than as the Emmy telecast itself.

The program should not be confused with:
- CBS’s Entertainment Tonight pre-show, which was a separate red-carpet program with its own schedule and distribution.
- E!’s red-carpet coverage, another separate option for arrivals and fashion coverage.
- The CBS/Paramount+ Emmy ceremony, which followed at 8:00 p.m. ET (5:00 p.m. PT).
PEOPLE and EW’s show was one red-carpet viewing option, not the sole official or only Emmys pre-show.
Can you still watch the 2025 livestream?
The original event notices confirm where the program was streamed live, but they do not guarantee that a recording remains available. Video pages, social uploads, and platform archives can be removed, restricted, or replaced after an event ends.

If you find a video on PEOPLE, EW, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or The Roku Channel, check that it is clearly labeled as the September 14, 2025 Red Carpet Live program. Describe it as a replay or recorded stream, not as live coverage. Do not assume that a current search result or an old event notice proves that the full two-hour video is still playable.
Watching The Roku Channel on a TV
The Roku Channel was one of the named distribution platforms for the PEOPLE/EW pre-show. A compatible Roku streaming device can be useful for viewers who want to watch supported Roku Channel programming on a television, but buying one was not required for this event. How to watch the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony
The main ceremony began at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT after the PEOPLE/EW pre-show. The Television Academy identified CBS as the broadcast outlet and Paramount+ as the streaming service for the ceremony, including live and on-demand distribution.
That information applies to the awards ceremony, not to the PEOPLE/EW red-carpet stream. Availability can depend on location, local CBS access, the applicable Paramount+ plan, and current service terms. The available research does not establish that Paramount+ access was free for every viewer, nor does it verify current subscription pricing or trial offers. Check CBS and Paramount+ directly for present-day access details.
