The best Netflix shows released in January 2026 ranged from Bridgerton Season 4 and the psychological thriller His & Hers to an Agatha Christie adaptation, skating romance, makeover reality TV, family comedy, and German dating-show drama. Here is what each title offers and who should watch it.
If you are looking for what actually arrived on Netflix in January 2026, the strongest choices were Bridgerton Season 4 and the six-episode thriller His & Hers. They led a varied month that also included a new Agatha Christie adaptation, a skating romance, the final season of Queer Eye, a returning family sitcom, and a German edition of Love Is Blind.
One important update: these titles are no longer “coming to Netflix.” As of August 2026, all seven January releases have premiered, although availability can vary by country. The dates below refer to Netflix’s U.S.-oriented schedule.

1. Bridgerton Season 4, Part 1
Released January 29, 2026
The biggest returning title of the month moved the central love story to Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson. Benedict has resisted the idea of settling down, but that changes after he meets a mysterious woman known as the Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball. Yerin Ha plays Sophie Baek, the woman at the center of the season’s Cinderella-coded setup.

Season 4 is inspired by Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel, An Offer from a Gentleman. Viewers who want to compare the adaptation with its source can start with Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton series, while remembering that the books and the television adaptation are not identical.
There is also a release-date detail worth keeping straight: January brought only Part 1. Part 2 followed on February 26, so January viewers did not receive the complete fourth season at once. That split makes this a better choice for fans who enjoy an event-style romance release than for anyone seeking a finished, one-night story.
2. His & Hers
Released January 8, 2026 | Six episodes
This is January’s strongest new-series choice for viewers who prefer a compact, twist-oriented mystery. Tessa Thompson plays Anna Andrews, a former news anchor living in reclusion in Atlanta. Jon Bernthal plays Detective Jack Harper. When a murder occurs in Dahlonega, the north Georgia town where Anna grew up, Anna begins investigating while Jack starts to suspect that she may be involved.
The hook is not simply detective versus suspect: Anna and Jack are estranged spouses, and each views the other as a possible source of the truth—or a possible culprit. The story uses their competing perspectives to create uncertainty over whose account can be trusted. William Oldroyd directs the adaptation of Alice Feeney’s novel, making this a particularly good pick for viewers who like star-led literary thrillers with a short binge commitment.

If the adaptation leaves you curious about its source, Alice Feeney’s His & Hers is the novel behind the series. Reading it before or after watching may reveal how the adaptation handles its characters and structure, but it should not be treated as a promise that every detail is reproduced on screen.
3. Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials
Released January 15, 2026 | Three parts
Seven Dials is the month’s traditional country-house mystery. Mia McKenna-Bruce stars as Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent, a young sleuth drawn into a suspicious gathering and a dangerous investigation. The three-part series adapts Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials Mystery, with Chris Chibnall—creator of Broadchurch—as writer.
This is a different kind of mystery from His & Hers. Rather than centering on an estranged couple and shifting psychological viewpoints, it offers literary pedigree, period atmosphere, suspects, clues, and a brisk three-part structure. It is an easy recommendation for Christie readers and for anyone who wants a contained whodunit without committing to a long season.
Viewers who want the original country-house puzzle can continue with Agatha Christie’s original Seven Dials mystery. The novel is source material, not a substitute for the series, and buying or reading it does not include Netflix access.

4. Finding Her Edge Season 1
Released January 22, 2026
For a lighter change of pace, Finding Her Edge combines young-adult romance, competitive ice dancing, family pressure, and Olympic ambition. Adriana Russo returns to competitive pairs ice dancing with a new partner while still carrying feelings for her former partner and first love. Her family’s struggling Ontario rink and its ice-dancing legacy add another source of pressure.
The show’s emotional engine is the tension between the new partnership and the old relationship. Adriana must train with Brayden Elliot while trying to protect her family’s future and pursue a place at the World Championships. That makes it a natural choice for viewers who like sports dramas where competition and romance develop together.
Current status: Netflix later renewed Finding Her Edge for Season 2. That renewal is a later update, not part of the show’s January launch, so Season 1 should be judged on its own terms when choosing what to watch.
5. Queer Eye Season 10
Released January 21, 2026 | Final season
The Fab Five—Antoni Porowski, Jeremiah Brent, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, and Tan France—returned for the final season of Queer Eye. The season’s participants are based in Washington, D.C., giving the farewell run a clear setting while preserving the show’s established focus on makeovers, practical change, and personal transformation.

- The Google TV Streamer (4K) delivers your favorite entertainment quickly, easily, and personalized to you[1,2]

- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
This is the month’s most straightforward uplifting recommendation. It works for viewers who want emotional reality television rather than a puzzle to solve or a romance to follow. Because it is the final season, longtime fans have an additional reason to watch, while new viewers can approach it as a collection of transformation stories rather than as a serialized drama.
6. The Upshaws Part 7
Released January 15, 2026
The Upshaws supplied January’s returning family-sitcom option. Part 7 continues the story of the Upshaw family and is best suited to viewers who are already invested in the characters and want an episodic comfort watch.
Because this is Part 7 rather than a new sitcom, it is not the ideal starting point for someone unfamiliar with the series. New viewers will get more from beginning earlier, while existing fans can treat the January release as another batch of family comedy and multi-generational situations. The available information does not establish a specific episode count or plot arc for this part, so it is better to approach it as a continuation than to expect a particular storyline.

Released January 8, 2026
The second German season brings a new group of singles into the franchise’s familiar experiment: participants pursue emotional connection and commitment without seeing one another first. Conversations take place in the pods before the relationships move beyond that initial barrier.

- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, so you can switch from streaming to gaming with ease. Plus, it’s designed to stay hidden behind your TV, keeping wires neatly out of sight
The German edition gives the format an international reality-TV angle, but it remains distinct from the U.S. and other Love Is Blind versions. It is a good pick if you want unscripted relationship drama, fast-moving romantic decisions, and the uncertainty of watching connections develop before the participants meet face to face. No specific couple outcome should be assumed without watching the season.
Which January 2026 Netflix show should you watch?
- For period romance: Choose Bridgerton Season 4, beginning with Part 1 and continuing into Part 2.
- For a psychological mystery: Watch His & Hers, especially if a six-episode commitment and unreliable perspectives appeal to you.
- For a classic whodunit: Pick Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials and its three-part country-house mystery.
- For skating and YA romance: Try Finding Her Edge Season 1.
- For an emotional makeover watch: Start the final season of Queer Eye.
- For an established family sitcom: Continue with The Upshaws Part 7.
- For unscripted dating drama: Watch Love Is Blind: Germany Season 2.
For readers who want to move from screen adaptations to source material, Bridgerton, His & Hers, and Seven Dials offer three different reading paths: historical romance, modern psychological suspense, and classic detective fiction. For everyone else, the simplest route is to choose by mood rather than by release order—January 2026 covered enough genres to make that approach work.
