Some platform metadata displays April 18, 2025, because it records the launch using the UTC calendar date. That does not represent a separate U.S. premiere.

Search for Attack on Titan The Movie: THE LAST ATTACK in the Crunchyroll app or website. Before starting playback, open the title’s audio and subtitle menu: language options vary by country and can change over time. The film was released with Japanese audio and subtitles, and an English dub was scheduled for the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Crunchyroll’s release calendar also listed English, German, Portuguese, and other dubbed versions, but that does not guarantee that every version appears in every market.
What time did it arrive on Crunchyroll?
| U.S. time zone | Release time | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Pacific Time | 5:00 p.m. | Thursday, April 17, 2025 |
| Eastern Time | 8:00 p.m. | Thursday, April 17, 2025 |
Crunchyroll’s official release calendar listed the movie and several dubbed versions at 5:00 p.m. Pacific. Contemporary reporting converted that release to 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Because that launch has already happened, headlines describing the movie as “finally coming to streaming” are now outdated; the useful current answer is that it is available to find on Crunchyroll, subject to local catalog rules.
Is this a new Attack on Titan sequel?
No. THE LAST ATTACK is not a new continuation of the story. It is a 145-minute feature-film reconstruction of the two-part Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS finale.
The source specials originally aired in Japan on March 4, 2023, and November 5, 2023. Director Yuichiro Hayashi and MAPPA reworked those finale installments into one theatrical presentation. The movie premiered in Japan on November 8, 2024, before reaching international cinemas and later streaming.
Rank #2
This means viewers have two ways to experience the same finale material on Crunchyroll:
- THE LAST ATTACK: the feature-length movie version, designed to be watched as one presentation.
- THE FINAL CHAPTERS specials: the two-part episodic version of the finale.
Choose the movie if you want the theatrical-style compilation. Choose the specials if you prefer the original two-part structure or cannot find the movie listing in your territory.
What does “No. 1 box-office hit” actually mean?
The accurate claim is narrower than some headlines suggest: THE LAST ATTACK opened at No. 1 in Japan during its first weekend.
Crunchyroll reported that the film earned approximately ¥1.45 billion—about $9.16 million—during its initial Japanese run and ranked first in its opening weekend. Oricon separately reported that it passed ¥240 million in its first three days and led Japan’s weekend attendance ranking. Those figures support the description “No. 1 in Japan on its opening weekend.”

They do not establish that the film was the highest-grossing anime movie ever, the highest-grossing Attack on Titan title overall, or the No. 1 movie in the United States. The relevant box-office result is its Japanese opening-weekend performance.
Do not confuse the streaming debut with the 2026 theatrical event
Search results may also show a separate THE LAST ATTACK event announced for 2026. Crunchyroll scheduled a new 4K version for a one-night screening in U.S. and Canadian theaters on May 18, 2026, as part of Crunchyroll Anime Nights. The announced presentation used Japanese audio with English subtitles.
That was a theatrical re-release, not a second streaming debut and not a new movie. The streaming launch remained April 17, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific / 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
Collector option: the 4K UHD Blu-ray
For viewers who want a permanent copy, Japan received an official 4K UHD Blu-ray release on January 21, 2026. The franchise’s official home-video page confirms the Japanese release.

You may see listings for an Attack on Titan The Last Attack 4K UHD Blu-ray, but shoppers should verify the details before ordering. The available research does not establish a U.S.-specific edition, universal region compatibility, or identical language options across sellers. Check all of the following:
- Whether the disc is a Japanese import or a local-market release
- 4K UHD and standard Blu-ray region requirements
- Japanese and English audio availability
- Subtitle languages
- Seller location, delivery terms, and return policy
- Whether your player supports the disc format and region
Do not assume that a Japanese 4K UHD disc is region-free or guaranteed to work in every U.S. player. The two claims require separate confirmation from the product listing or manufacturer documentation.
Quick answer for first-time viewers
- Open Crunchyroll and search for Attack on Titan The Movie: THE LAST ATTACK.
- Confirm that the listing is the feature film, not one of the two THE FINAL CHAPTERS specials.
- Check the available audio and subtitle tracks for your country.
- If the movie is not listed, search for the two finale specials or check your local Crunchyroll catalog; licensing differs by territory.
The short version: the film’s U.S. streaming time was 8:00 p.m. ET on April 17, 2025, and the movie is now a Crunchyroll catalog title rather than an upcoming release. It is the feature-length version of the Attack on Titan finale—not a sequel—and its “No. 1” distinction refers to Japan’s opening weekend.
